Even if my only strength is water magic, having modern knowledge should be sufficient, right?

Chapter 7 - Episode 7: A Strange Kid Arrived.

Episode 7: A Strange Kid Arrived.

(Boss’ Perspective)

There’s a strange kid under my wing.

She can use water magic. Moreover, she can produce exceptionally good water.

It’s not unusual for someone to be able to use magic, but that water is particularly good. Occasionally, such kids emerge, but they’re mostly found among temple people or nobles and are rare among commoners.

At first glance, I noticed her potential from her hair.

I thought about picking her up after she fell into the waterway, but the next day, one of my sons took her away for healing.

“What the hell are you doing?”

“Huh? Didn’t you say the next subordinate is Pakis’?”

“… Did I say that?”

“You said it while drinking! Pakis seemed happy. It’s his first subordinate.”

Well… that’s as far as it goes if she dies. I can’t wait until the kid grows up.

Sometimes I call her to let her try my water, and it works quite well. After all, you never know if there’s poison in alcohol.

And unlike those dimwits who only do what they’re told—no, they can’t even do what they’re told—this kid is clever. She helps by cleaning the bottles and sorting the coins so they’re easier for me to count.

I’ve never heard of poison being mixed in gold before… but when you think about it, it’s not surprising. Gold often comes out of mines, so it’s not clear what’s in it. It wouldn’t be strange if there was poison mixed in.

Despite being a small kid, she’s quite useful.

“I might have done something bad to Pakis, but oh well…”

“Boss, did you say something?”

“It’s nothing.”

I’m assigning one useful subordinate to each of my sons. Having power makes you want to wield it, and through their actions, I can see what each of them wants… including betraying me.

It feels bad to bring someone from Pakis’ group to mine, but if they’re useful for my work, it’s a different story.

Frim said she was cleaning, but where did she go? She disappeared in the middle of work and hasn’t come back. I was going to give her some of the newly arrived fruit to eat.

But soon enough, I figured out what she did. A small corridor where the rain hits a little is shiny and not slippery, and the toilet… the air is a little humid, but the toilet is unexpectedly clean.

“Woah!”

“Amazing! Make the other toilets clean too!”

“What are you saying? I was here first!”

“Frim-chan!”

Looking over the henchmen who gathered to see something, I saw Frim vigorously cleaning with water.

She’s cleaning at an incredible speed… no, the force of that water, and her cleverness, she’s not an ordinary kid. Isn’t that like the magic soldiers of the nobles?

She’s too clever for her age, and there are some strange aspects. It’s understandable that she’s still afraid of me, and it’s good that she doesn’t seem to be considering betrayal.

“Oh, Boss! I cleaned the corridor and the toilet!”

“Alright, good job! Let’s eat!! Now get to work, all of you!! …Damn.”

What a great find!
