Escanor(Marvel)

Chapter 23: The Game of Secrets 4

POV Bolivar Trask

The greatest achievement, the result of incredible effort, and the embodiment of my genius. This project is the quintessence of perseverance and scientific thought. Of course, there are still minor flaws, but even at this stage, the development is impressive.

Machines towering five meters high, their armor capable of withstanding a direct hit from a tank shell, and their laser weaponry melting metal with ease. These creations were designed to eradicate mutants. For now, this is only a prototype, but it has already met my expectations. With proper funding, I created a working model in just six months, and within a year, I had ten fully operational units. This is the pinnacle of my work.

It's a shame, of course, that Prototype #23-7 was destroyed. Codenamed Escanor, it had remarkable energy output, but I'll have to forget about that power source. A new approach is needed.

However, I have always adapted to new circumstances. We need to find Mystique. That shape-shifting creature could be anywhere, and her ability to assume any identity makes this task incredibly difficult. Even artificial surveillance systems have proven useless. But I won't stop.

Not that it matters. My work is finished, and now I can demonstrate its power. I already have a target in mind. The X-Men one of the most formidable mutant groups will be the perfect test to prove what my creations can do.

While they're busy searching for Stryker's base, I've had the freedom to complete my developments. His methods, of course, are unsettling creating weapons out of mutants themselves. But to each their own approach.

A call.

The sharp sound broke the silence of my office.

"This is Trask," I answered, picking up the receiver.

"Mr. Trask, I trust you're ready to demonstrate the results?" came the voice on the other end.

"Without a doubt. I'm ready to proceed immediately," I replied confidently.

"Then begin. Prepare everything as quickly as possible and strike when we give the signal," the caller instructed before abruptly ending the conversation.

I rose from my chair and headed toward the Sentinels resting below.

"Gentlemen, initiate the launch," I commanded.

Lights flared, illuminating the room for a brief moment before the majestic creations came to life. Their chest reactors began emitting blinding streams of energy. My masterpiece slowly lifted off the ground, its massive frame towering toward the ceiling. The robot's head nearly brushed the beams, but I had calculated every measurement to the millimeter.

"The time has come to rid this world of the threat that lurks among us," I declared, lifting my head proudly. "Now, humanity has a weapon capable of fighting back."

The plan was simple: strike swiftly and decisively when the mutants least expected it. It was crucial that they and the entire world understood the magnitude of this new power.

Televised Broadcast

"Citizens of America, as difficult as it is for me to say these words, I must. The world will never be the same again. Among us walk individuals with powers far beyond human capability, and the consequences of their actions threaten our nation.

The final straw was the recent incident in New York, where two mutants, out of control, wreaked havoc on the city. A year ago, a similar event occurred in another part of town, leaving destruction in its wake. We were powerless against their strength. But now, the situation has changed.

Today, we have the means to protect ourselves. If mutants refuse to abide by our laws, they will face the consequences. We are ready to neutralize any threat they pose immediately."

The government representative's voice was firm and unwavering, broadcasted across all channels.
