Enemies Are All Nourishment for My Fungi

Chapter 289 Setting Out to the Enemy Camp to Earn Points (1)

At the living camp, the ground was repeatedly cleaned by the warriors, and the long clothing racks from the laundry were moved outside to hold underwear boxes.

Both men's and women's styles included large underwear and short sleeves, with the women's additionally featuring a small vest with detachable pads, which also came in all sizes. Of course, they couldn't compare to sports vests, but they would definitely pose no problem for the next few days.

Each item was individually packed in disinfectant packaging, ready to wear upon opening, which saved the trouble of washing new underwear.

She even had disposable slippers, which were said to last several days as long as they weren't exposed to water.

Toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, body wash, and shampoo were also standard provisions, items she had been stocking since the early days of her business.

The warriors praised Ye Nai for her thorough preparation.

Ye Nai believed that this was all necessary for business. Individuals daring enough to hunt in the Secret Realm didn't skimp on creature comforts. After all, who knew if they would be alive tomorrow? The mentality was to spend money today if you have it, so she offered high-end products to make the distinguished buyers feel their expenditure was worthwhile.

And as for doing business, why not do it with everyone?

A communication officer came to find Ye Nai, returning her sports camera to her, along with a military phone.

"After you depart, our communication support vehicle will provide you with a dedicated signal to ensure you can stay in contact with us even within the enemy camp."

"Okay."

Ye Nai activated the phone, and under the guidance of the communication officer, she checked each application. The contacts were all names from Captain Cao and his team; she could make phone calls and would even be able to make video calls with her communication support when the time came.

At four o'clock, the baths opened on time.

The sound of chopping ribs for winter melon soup came from the cooking vehicle.

Dinner was at six sharp.

During those two hours, Ye Nai did nothing but climb on the roof of the bathroom repeatedly to fill the water tanks.

At seven o'clock, as the sky began to darken, Ye Nai brought out her off-road motorcycle.

The queue for showers had already diminished significantly, but she still waited until eight o'clock, when it was completely dark and the bathroom was free, to fully replenish the water tanks and barrels.

She left the ingredients for the next day's use for the cooking vehicle.

More than ten boxes of cigarettes were left behind.

All these large public items were left behind as well, as if to keep a thought alive, picking up good luck, so that these valuable items wouldn't end up as ownerless and also to ensure a strong fight.

Li Yun came with the logistics warriors to deliver the day's supply list to her and write the receipt, even noting the water she had just replenished.

But she had to go to the rear command to settle the accounts as the front-line combat teams didn't have cash.

That place was also where tasks were to be submitted; the counted enemy soldier bodies were just right to be sent to the crematorium.

"I hope everything goes well for you."

"Thank you, wait for my signal tomorrow."

Ye Nai secured the receipt, shook hands with Li Yun to say goodbye, mounted her motorcycle, and sped off the buffer zone.

The open buffer zone was completely visible, with only low grass. Shrubs slightly taller couldn't grow as they had been repeatedly bombed clean.

Thus, Ye Nai was actually racing through a completely open area without any cover.

She operated in the dark, the motorcycle lights off, just charging blindly, first rushing over half of the buffer zone and then using Space Teleportation.

Mainly, on her own side of the half zone, many infrared battlefield surveillance devices had been deployed. These small devices, when dropped onto the grass, were inconspicuous just like Butterfly Mines, but they emitted infrared light that exposed all targets at night.

The special training she underwent the week before her departure wasn't just about learning firearms and explosives handling; casual conversations also provided her with a lot of knowledge.

As this was ammunition essential for frontline combat troops, and since Ye Nai knew that, she certainly wouldn't expose her ability to teleport instantly under the surveillance of the infrared devices.

Her ability to preserve precious Space had been exposed already, so she had to keep her other cards close to her vest.

True Dragon Gully's camp had also raised its cannons, ready to fire at any enemy movement detected by the infrared.

After charging for more than three hours, and as midnight approached, Ye Nai finally crossed the middle line of the buffer and another dozen kilometers before returning to the East Ridge Secret Realm to rest.

After riding the motorcycle that long, her body was stiff.

Ye Nai rested for only half an hour, after regaining flexibility, she came out. It was past three in the morning and dawn was nearing, she didn't have much time to rest.

As soon as she stepped onto the buffer zone soil, Ye Nai initiated Space Teleportation and went straight to the enemy camp.

The massive amount of spores released during daytime had already flown to the enemy camp, taken root, and propagated generation after generation. Guided by them, Ye Nai directly landed in the enemy commander's room, trapping him in his bed, and forcibly took him into her space before he could yell in anger.

Exiting the room, there was a corridor lit by torches, with rooms on both sides.

Ye Nai tiptoed along the corridor to an exit, stepping out onto another open-air corridor, illuminated by torches and bonfires.

As she realized she was in a square internal courtyard similar to those in the Sky Smoke Secret Realm's military fortresses, and her current location was on the third floor, with the city wall above her head.

It seemed that military fortresses were indeed the structural format for enemy's main camps on the frontlines, and three floors towering wasn't considered short.

During these nighttime hours, the entire fortress was quiet, except for the guards, most people were asleep, and Ye Nai could even clearly hear snoring sounds.

With that being the case, she was not hesitant.

Guided by the positioning provided by the spores, she teleported quietly from one warehouse to another, emptying them all.

These were her spoils of war, and she wouldn't let them get smeared by mud.

After finishing, she released spores. She gathered all enemy soldiers standing guard on the top of the fortress wall into her space, then she teleported to the flagpole.

From a vantage point, she dumped the 501 people in her space into the center of the courtyard, then threw out the mud accumulated over the day.

There was a lot of mud, covering the square courtyard below, the open-air corridor that led directly to the city walls, and the horse path, reaching halfway up the third floor. Naturally, the bonfires used for illumination were also extinguished; other than the light from torches on the wall, it was pitch dark when viewed from above.

After the mud was settled, it seemed there still wasn't enough; it hadn't even fully covered the third floor.

In fact, the size of the enemies was there for all to see, averaging around two meters three to two meters four, some even taller. Thus, the fortress itself was naturally tall, large, and expansive.

The first floor, of course, was buried the most securely, and the heavy mud could even cause an oxygen deficit throughout the entire floor.

The second floor still had some wiggle room; those strong enough might even manage to crawl out of the muck.

Finally, she calmly replaced the enemy's flag with her own.

The massive amount of mud that fell from the sky woke the sleeping enemy soldiers, but as they tried to go outside to check the situation, they found they were surrounded by an unpleasant smell of mud.

Especially the enemy soldiers on the first floor were in panic, screaming, with only the entrances leading to the external open-air corridor, no stairs to move up or down inside the inner corridor.
