Chapter 326: The Fallen Soul
“Griselda-Sama.”
“Griselda-Sama.”
In her pristine white nun’s robe, Griselda, having just finished her prayers, was on her way back to her own room. Along the way, she exchanged friendly and reverent greetings with the other nuns and clergy.
Griselda was known for her exceptional strength, unwavering belief, and her esteemed position as the Brave Saint Queen, a Royal User of the great Archangel Gabriel-Sama in this church. Everyone held her in high regard and had deep affection and respect for her.
As always, Griselda carried herself with humility, offering warm, saintly smiles in response to everyone’s greetings.
“Clergy Gerome.”
Griselda called out to a young clergyman approaching her.
“Nun Griselda, how may I assist you?”
Gerome, a young clergyman and a formidable exorcist who was also one of the church’s administrators bowed respectfully to Griselda.
Griselda hesitated for a moment, her lips parted, showing a hint of inner turmoil before regaining her composure.
“I have no specific request, Clergy Gerome. I only heard that you’re going on a mission. Please take care of yourself, and may the Lord bless you.”
“Thank you for your blessings, Nun Griselda.”
Clergy Gerome, feeling honored, displayed a hint of joy on his face.
With a slight smile, Griselda nodded and then continued on her way to her room.
Watching her beautiful figure as she walked away, Clergy Gerome’s eyes briefly held a hint of admiration before quickly turning melancholic.
Although he was a devout believer, a powerful exorcist, and excelled among his peers, Nun Griselda’s excellence cast a shadow over his own achievements. Moreover, Nun Griselda was a living saint, dedicated to the Lord in body, mind, and soul, untouchable by mere mortals like him.
Shaking his head with a bitter smile and sighing, young Clergy Gerome left the church.
Meanwhile, in another part of the church…
Upon returning to her room, Griselda locked the door. The serene and gentle expression on her face disappeared, replaced by one of pain, inner conflict, and confusion.
She had failed again. Despite her determination to confess her sins, she always hesitated at the crucial moment.
She couldn’t do it.
“It’s all your fault!”
With anger and frustration, Griselda angrily threw the “Gods and Demons Scripture” from her desk to the floor. However, a deep sense of guilt surged from her soul.
“I’m sorry! Please forgive me…”
Like a child who had done something wrong, Griselda hurriedly picked up the Holy Scripture and carefully wiped it, her face filled with remorse.
Trembling hands opened the Holy Scripture, and Griselda read the teachings within, calming her restless and guilt-ridden heart.
But when she came back to her senses, Griselda’s face turned as pale as snow.
It had happened again. She had once more betrayed the Lord, betrayed Gabriel-sama!
Regret overwhelmed Griselda’s heart. She shouldn’t have opened the “Evil God’s Demon Scripture” out of curiosity. She had opened Pandora’s Box and had been cursed by the Evil God, unable to resist…
No one knew that the miracle of the Phenex family, the owner of the two Heavenly Dragons, the half-human, half-Devil Kamiya Tenraku, harbored such grand ambitions to become a god.
If she hadn’t experienced it herself, Griselda wouldn’t have believed such a fact. That man concealed such enormous ambitions!
She wanted to reveal this secret to her fellow church members, even to Gabriel-sama, but what troubled Griselda was her inability to do so. Every time she reached the crucial moment, she would falter.
She knew it was wrong, but she yearned for the world described in the Demon Scripture, irresistibly drawn to the teachings of the Evil God.
Her body, her soul, her belief—everything belonged to the Lord, to the great Gabriel-sama. But now, she found herself yearning to embrace the Evil God.
She desired to believe in the Evil God, she desired to make Kamiya Tenraku her one and only true master. As time passed, this feeling grew stronger with each passing day. Griselda knew that she must have fallen under some curse from the other side or some peculiar ability of a Sacred Gear.
However, she had no way to free herself. The adversary didn’t harm her physically but was invading her soul. She couldn’t save herself, nor could she seek help from others. She prayed to the Lord and Gabriel-Sama, completed her duties in the church, and went about her daily routines, hiding any signs of abnormality.
But inside, Griselda was consumed by guilt and torment, watching helplessly as she descended further into the abyss of darkness.
Unconsciously, Griselda once again turned to the “Gods and Demons Scripture.” Even though it was filled with traps of the Evil God, she found it sacred and magnificent. Each time she read it, she felt a profound inner peace and satisfaction. The conflicting emotions of guilt and contentment continued to intertwine and clash within her.
One side was growing weaker while the other was becoming stronger. Griselda knew that if this continued, it wouldn’t be long before she was completely dominated.
“Save me, Gabriel-Sama, please save me…”
Deep within her soul, Griselda, who still held a shred of sanity, continued to call out. But the voice was too faint, too distant for Gabriel in the heavens to hear. What he did hear was the Evil God who sought to dominate her.
“Nun Griselda, it won’t be Gabriel who saves you; it will be me…”
In his own room, Tenraku opened his eyes, a wicked smile curling on his lips. Through the Belief threads woven by the “Gods and Demons Scripture,” Tenraku could hear the prayers and thoughts of his believers, and naturally, he heard Griselda’s deep-seated cries.
It seemed his experiment was incredibly successful; the “Seed of Belief” had taken root and sprouted in the nun’s soul. Soon, he would be able to reap the harvest!
As a side note, Irina and Asia were resting on either side of Tenraku, while Xenovia lay on Tenraku’s chest, panting. Tonight, the Church trio served Tenraku.
“Xenovia, continue, for the sake of your dream.”
Tenraku encouraged her as he gently patted Xenovia’s backside.
Xenovia’s dream was to serve the Lord and bear a holy child for her master, and at this moment, she was working hard to fulfill her dream.
“Yes, Holy Lord-Sama.”
With devout devotion, Xenovia seemed to gain immense courage and strength, rising once again…
