Chapter 20: Chapter 20 Unjolly co-operation

Walking out of the Kaiba corp building holding the contract for a part of Kaiba corp is very amusing, maybes since with this I have ammunition that I can use at any time to annoy Kaiba.

now many people would think this as a form of extorting the a child and not legally binding but Mokuba the sly little devil actually played his brother a bit, He called his brother who was pursuing the Pharaoh and said he needed his signature for some administrative matters that came up.

From the three factors of him being in a rush, trusting his brother and the mundanity of the requests description, he gave his consent without question, thinking it was minor and not giving me a piece of the biggest corporate pie in the world, with some fingers into Industrial Illusion's pie tin as well.

To not worry his brother or harm the Kaiba brothers strangle hold on the corporation Mokuba was able to just liquidate part of his ownership rites for the deal, he looked conflicted with his choice but I just tap the deck in front of him and tell him 'I won't do anything to Kaiba corp, its not like I can do anything anyway when you still have the majority of the ownership.'

Yeah it turns out Kaiba after Pegasus tried to take of his company went paranoid and has around 40% ownership of his company while Mokuba had 30%, Pegasus holds around 20% with the remainder being used by the board of directors.

The situation now makes it so the Kaiba Brothers aren't the full owner but it would only take one member from the board to side with them and its a done deal, also to be honest Kaiba is a Business Prodigy so its highly likely I won't step in unless he asks for something stupid, like a Blue-eyes Rocket. . . Dear god I can totally see him making one to try and duel aliens.

Anyway, I'm walking out of Kaiba corp owning some of it so yay.

let me tell you the Demi-gods were annoyed at the whole process, their grumblings started when I told them that Mokuba is essentially the Vice president of the world biggest organisation, since their from a might makes right society the thought of a child with that much power pulled them the wrong way, it didn't help that I pointed out Miquella was a child and yet had his own Erdtree and City equivalent and he ran it well enough.

the some of the Demi-gods were not happy at learning about the Haligtree and Elphael, maybe since it was meant to be secret and was essentially a giant middle finger to the Golden order since it stood to harbour those persecuted by the golden order.

I walk though the boulevard outside Kaiba corp tower and see standing against a Lamppost is Guinevere without her brother, when she sees me she walks towards me and has a look of determination on her face.

I raise a hand and look her in the eyes before speaking "You don't need to say anything, I can tell you want revenge, and you think you could get it by following me so you dropped your brother somewhere safe then waited for me to plead for the chance to probably kill Marik, am I right."

She just looks with mild shock before nodding.

My face depicts a frown, "While I agree Marik has done many bad things and is acting like a man child I don't condone Murder or Mind death, that's the main reason why I fixed your brother but I don't owe you anything.

If anything you should owe me for giving you a trait many wish they could have as well as helping your brother for no actual cost, but I don't force them since one was accidental and the other was me doing it without expecting a reward to do the right thing."

She's silent and looks at the ground in contemplation, when she looks up and goes to speak she realises I'm not in her line of sight.

Having walked past her while she was looking down I am now facing away from her and continue to speak. "I won't accept your loyalty!

I don't need a piece blind to everything but her own rage, I will admit with the deck I tuned up for you you could be a efficient enforcer but I know you wouldn't be loyal to me, you would be loyal to your revenge and while revenge is a potent burning blaze full of passion it fades once it no longer is being fuelled, rendering you useless."

My words cause a sense of rage to fill her. "then what am I to do, He crossed too many lines to be redeemed, he needs to be punished, he needs to be held accountable for the torment he inflicted."

"when did I ever say he would escape blame ?" i say glancing with the corner of my eye at her.

This causes her to stop.

"he will pay, I don't worry about that but I know one thing that those blinded by revenge never think to ask, If you can give a good enough answer to the question it'll show me that you have what it takes to be a worthy investment." I say with a tone that expresses no discussion on the subject.

she looks at me in silence ready for the question.

"If you had your revenge on Marik and tortured before killing him, What would you do afterwards ?"

This makes her freeze as this question does to everyone who uses Revenge to justify acts of fury or rage. What are the consequences of their actions and could they return to their lives from before?

Obviously not, there are always consequences if not in legal or physical action there would always be an imprint on the mind knowing that you lowered yourself to the level of the other person or even become worse than them to get your revenge.

That's not even thinking about the amount of grief your action would have on others, that grief would turn to anger then into a sense of rage which fuels the Bonfire of Revenge anew.

In the case of Marik, if he died Odion and Ishizu would hunt her down and crucify her in their own blaze of revenge, She wouldn't be able to escape since Ishizu has the Necklace and only I'm immune to it right now, but neither Ishizu or Guinevere know that.

She speaks and says "I would go and take my brother home to live free of the memory of his torment."

I shake my head, "No, I can list off what would happen in a certain order, First of all you would become the main target of a future viewing woman who would be backed by her very strong step brother, if you managed to escape them you would immediately placed on the most wanted list since Marik is technically the Family of a national Ambassador meaning you will get found where ever you hide since Ishizu can clairvoyance using the necklace then you and your brother would get extradited to Egypt to be tried in Egyptian court system, which still would probably sentience you with the death sentence with Ishizu's political backing and your brother would be seen as either an accomplice or co-conspirator running his life via either prison or death sentence."

my words are like ice water on her rage, the idea of not just herself but her brother would die but I can see the gears in her head turn.

"your next idea would be to do a double murder justifying that she's in the way and without her there you and your brother could escape but the thing is the necklace also protects the user in some way, I suspect if she would die it would block her visions past that point and she's trained enough with it to presume the outcome of various factors without seeing the intended outcome since I think if she sees an outcome nothing else besides someone who can defy fate can counter the necklace from it happening. Your not in that category so she's technically unkillable."

I shrug "its the annoyance of trying to kill someone who can see the future, but meh." I see the frustration grow within her but she remembers a fact.

"did you beat her." I turn to her with a face with no hint of amusement.

"Well yeah I can, but as I said I don't plan to kill Marik or Ishizu since I don't need too. I'll torture him a little of course since he needs to be punished with more than just a slap on the wrist, He needs to learn actions have consequences. Do you understand that as well now?"

She looks down at the ground and I can hear her crying, she looks at me with tears in her eyes and screams "THEN What Am I To Do! He Ruined our lives and yet he just gets to live, no matter what torture you inflict upon him he won't change."

At her words I grace my face with a smile that can be described as pure evil. "Oh don't worry about that, What I'll do to him is something very simple I call the Godwyn treatment, I'm gonna trap his mind in a simple 4 meter by 4 meter room with his hands and legs bound so they can't move before make it so he experiences 10,000 years in the matter of moments using spiritual magic, Once that's over I'll do the Ranni Treatment, That consists of making him have to relive the memories of his tormented life many times over but simply make it so he can't change the past or feel any any stimuli such as touch, taste, heat or cold, for another 10,000 years. once those are over I'll simply revive him to a perfect mental state then implant the memory of 20,000 years in both states of torment back into the mind."

She's wide eyed at the idea of such torture methods but both Godwyn and Ranni who the methods are based on simply close their eyes maybe to repress the torment of both things they experience.

"Godwyn's Method strikes at the Fact were a social Species and Ranni's method Strikes at how were all reliant on the senses so when their just gone after experiencing them is simply soul crushing."

"did you know Guinevere, death isn't the worst punishment you can do against someone, death while quick and effective leaves little satisfaction and too many risks, the Best way to torment someone is to prove that your a better person than them, so while my actions won't raise me above that line, your in the perfect position to rise above him and even his hypocritical sister and brother by being better than them."

my words seems to knock her out of a haze of thoughts. "How. How would it be possible to just ignore him and try to be the better person, while their a major problem."

I turn away from her, "well there are many ways in this society to be classed as better but a simple way would be to get your own ticket into the finals of the tournament, Marik will just use his Rare Hunters to give him the required 5 cards he needs so he'll cheat, you would be better than him if you don't."

I turn around and present her crystal Map card back to her as well as the card from the first duel, lowering me back to 3 cards out of 6.

"If you enter the finals and join me in the future, prove to me your more than Marik's pawn and that your at least as worthy as a knight on the board.

she takes the cards and looks at me with eyes full of determination as I go to walk away, before I go I hear her ask one last question "If I'm to be be a knight, who is the opponent on the other side of the Board."

without turning around I raise my hand to the air and spread it out with each digit separate and say "you'll need to gain my trust to learn about that."
