Kael sat in silence, his fingers tracing the worn edges of the stolen documents. Selene stood nearby, her arms crossed, watching his expression darken with every page he turned.

"Hybrid experiments... human and beast merged into one... Successful trials... Location undisclosed but operational."

The words were clinical, detached, yet they carried the weight of countless horrors.

Selene shifted uncomfortably. "They actually succeeded?"

Kael nodded, his gaze sharp. "One of their facilities was destroyed, but it didn't stop them. They perfected it." He flipped to another page, reading aloud. "Subject 017—stable hybridization achieved. Intelligence retained. Combat instincts enhanced. Mind controlled through direct neural interfacing."

Selene clenched her fists. "So they've turned people into... monsters?"

Kael set the document down. "Not monsters. Weapons."

A chill settled between them.

Selene hesitated before speaking. "What do we do?"

Kael's response was immediate. "We take it."

She blinked. "What?"

"If they've created something valuable, it belongs to us now." He leaned back, his crimson eyes gleaming with calculation. "But first, we watch. We find their weakness. Then, we erase everything—just like before."

Selene exhaled, forcing herself to focus. This was who Kael was. Ruthless. Calculated. And always three steps ahead.

"We'll need to move carefully," she said, regaining composure. they'll be more prepared than the last one."

Kael smirked. "Then we'll just have to be smarter."
