Earth With Dungeon: Saving the World With an Economic Boom

Chapter 8.2

Chapter 8.2. National Army

“Damn, why not just the inner city ones? If you don’t know the site, it’s unreasonable. It’s the same anyway. It’s the same anyway. It’s the same.”

“I’ll have to check it out just in case. I’m sure it will be over soon.”

The driver wanted to complain about why the inspector needed to go out, but he held his ground. The colonel is great. The wall between him and the lieutenant is thick. And the driver is an ensign. It would have been terrible if he had been reassigned to a dungeon attack.

He has been to the abandoned town several times, but as usual, it’s not a place where people would live, and he shows a slight dislike for the surroundings.

There are no windowpanes, and the cracked walls of abandoned buildings stand out. Some of the stores burnt to the ground, and not only are their goods missing but even their shelves are gone. Even houses with leaning doors and muddy rooms.

They’re surprised to see that there are still people living among them. With dirty clothes and emaciated bodies, the inhabitants look at us with dark stares. A jeep on the road is probably a rare sight, peeking out from behind a broken building, from a house covered in mud and weeds.

“It’s terrible. Anyone who lives in a place like this is not human. Don’t you think so?”

He must have noticed the look of disgust on the driver’s face. With the same look of disgust, Major Marume looks outside and says. The driver nods, feeling disgusted that he has had the same thought.

“They are scum who don’t even pay taxes. Not at all, if I were the prime minister, I would put forth a policy to get rid of them.”

“Huh. …… But how? I hear they run and hide like monsters, right?”

The driver asks, knowing that he no longer has the resources to eliminate them, and he becomes miffed, crosses his arms, and the Major shushes him.

Oh no, I thought I was being too sarcastic and was impatiently considering whether to flirt when the radio rang just then. I glance at Major Marume, then pick it up.

“This is the command car. What’s up? Over.”

“We found the core store. Over.”

“Roger that. We’re on our way.”

The scout has found it. He accelerates on the gas pedal. In the confusion, he hopes that Major Marume will forget about their current conversation.

The core store appears in the vicinity of the dungeon. As the scientist had expected, the core store was located at the corner of an abandoned building a short distance from the dungeon. What was unexpected was that many of the residents of the abandoned building had gathered there.

One could tell that everyone had gathered to get water. That’s because these people had bowls, water bottles, tanks, and other containers in their hands. The water appears in the air, not in a container. That time is less than 10 seconds. At first, the water is wasted.

But the inner city has water from a secured water treatment plant. Water is not particularly important.

“Hey, it’s the guys from the national army.”

“Mom, what’s that? It’s running.

“It’s called a car.”

“What are you doing here?”

Major Marume’s face contorted, and he covered his mouth with a handkerchief.

“Kick them away. The smell seems to be wafting this way. What are you going to do if it gets on your clothes?”

“Ha. I understand. Dismiss them.”

Following the instructions in a tone of voice that can only be described as disgust, the driver orders the infantry to get out of the trucks, raise their assault rifles, and drop to their knees at the waist.

“Disperse! We’re going to investigate this core store now. Anyone who approaches will get shot without warning!”

Pointing to the sky, the sergeant, the soldier’s commander pulls a short rifle from his waistband and shoots it into the sky with a bang.

“Guns!”

“Let’s get out of here!”

“Come quickly!”

“Okasan!”

The inhabitants of the abandoned town scattered like insects and fled, and Major Marume sniffed with satisfaction. On the ground, the vessels they had brought with them rolled around in a rumble, overflowing with water and soaking wet.

“Get on with it and check it out.”

“Yes, sir.”

We would soon find out the results. Using the core store is simple.

The infantry, alertly approached the core store to check it but shook his head. It’s probably the same result.

“Tsk. I told you so! Let’s get on with the next one. We’ll check one or two more.”

Major Marume does not hide his irritation, but as the driver, Ensign, he cannot.

“We have to follow the procedure and investigate at least once. One moment, please.”

“Tsk, what a scientist at all! They are irredeemable, they get paid so much for all this work! Get it over with.”

He doesn’t seem to have the intention of ignoring the order and follows the scientist’s procedure for a while to check it out. How strong is it? Any hidden functions? Is it the same thing? Time passes, taking pictures, tapping the can-can, and time goes on.

And a radio call comes in from a soldier on alert.

“To the command vehicle. Goblins and hobgoblins, plus goblin knights approaching.”

He clicks his tongue. Perhaps they had heard the gunfire and gathered around. It was a warning shot, but not using a bullet.

He hesitated about what to do.

“It can’t be helped. I’ll clean up the mess. Bullets are precious.”

Major Marume gets out of the car, looking like a pain in the ass.

The driver is relieved that he doesn’t mind that part. With the power of a major, a goblin is no match for him.

That’s what a major is.
