DxD: The Tale of Blood

Chapter 41: Chapter 39

"It's unwise to leave the girl alive." The commander of the Lucifer's Legion spoke to Sirzechs, who was wearing an indifferent expression as he stared at the Hall and the part of the Mammon Palace that was now in shambles.

The bodies and remains of Ambeth Mammon, her son, and her Peerage, as well as the bodies of some of her most loyal people were littered all over the place.

Even though he was not showing any expressions, he was mad as hell in his heart.

The stupid woman had made the worst possible choice, and so many lives were now lost.

Even before Hilda Crocell came to express her concerns to Ajuka and him, he already had assigned some eyes on the late Mammon.

And exactly what they had feared happened.

Ambeth lost her mind and tried to end her own Family, deciding to ruin what she could not have, and also sent her Peerage to kill her sister, her brother-in-law, and her nephew.

They had to react very quickly, break past the Wards of House Mammon which Ambeth had erected, and thankfully, the next Lady Mammon and her family were saved in time.

The House of Mammon had survived another threat of extinction.

"Where's the girl?"

"Lady Crocell handed her to her Aunt. Lord Ajuka and Lady Serafall are with them." The man respectfully answered.

"Let her live then. Hopefully, she has not inherited her mother's madness. Clean up this mess and take your men away."

"Yes, My Lord."

Sirzechs left after giving the command, and so did the Legion after they transferred the bodies and remains to the Mammon Graveyard, where they buried them.

A Magical Circle lit up right outside the Hall where Hilda, the Two Satans, and Lady Amneth were present.

And soon the door opened and Raizel Darcaedes walked inside.

"I see that she made her choice." He lightly said, and the maid nodded her head.

"She did, My Prince."

Amneth, her husband, and her son greeted him, and there were no smiles on their faces.

Even though she did not like her older sister, it was not to the extent that she wanted her dead.

What happened today was truly a shock to her and her family.

"May I?" Raizel asked as he looked at the little girl in her arms, and the woman hesitantly handed her over to him.

Seeing how protective she was of her niece, he smiled in his heart.

"Please excuse us, Heir Mammon." He looked at the boy who was eleven years old, very calm even after everything that happened today, and he bowed and respectfully left the room under the protection of the Steward of Mammon Family and his Peerage Members.

Once they left, Raizel looked at the innocent girl in his embrace, who had been put to sleep, and then he slowly leaned in to bite on her neck.

Hearing her painful groan, Amneth thought the worst, but Serafall grabbed her hand and stopped her, letting the Prince do what he wanted to do.

Under their curious and anxious eyes, he patiently went through the memories of the little girl, and was relieved that she did not witness any deaths. He then used his powers to weaken the memories she held of her mother and brother.

He did not eliminate them as they would have created a void in her mind and harmed her, and neither did he choose to implant any false memories, which could be exposed one day.

All he did was to make her memories blurry, just enough that she would not be too sad after hearing about the deaths of her family and would be able to move on.

Thankfully, the girl was inherently kind, and he was confident that there would be no future complications.

Next, he fixed her Blood, eliminated the traces of her Mixed Heritage, and transformed her into a Pureblood Devil, strengthening her grasp over their Mammon Clan Trait.

The process took several minutes, and when he retracted his fangs and the two puncture marks healed on their own, the people around him sensed what he had just done.

"She is a kind child. Treat her as your own daughter." He handed the little Anabel to her Aunt, who nodded her head in a promise to him.

"Thank you, Prince Raizel."

"You don't have to thank me. All we do is for the betterment and future of our race. I hope you will keep the House of Mammon strong."

"I will do my best." She nervously said.

Amneth still was not clear about exactly what happened at the Council Meeting that led to this tragedy, but she was smart enough to not ask them about it.

She was certain that her sister had committed a very grave mistake, otherwise, Lucifer's wrath would have not rained on her.

Raizel stayed at the Mammon Palace for an hour and witnessed the meeting between Amneth, the Steward, and all the Commanders and Heads of Vassal Houses sworn to the Mammon.

Ajuka left, but Serafall stayed with him, and their presence there was to show the people that the Devil Council and Government had trust in Amneth Mammon and that whatever crime the late Lady of the Family had committed did not jeopardise them.

"Ra-kun!" The Satan Pink hugged his arm when they walked towards the Entrance Hall. "When are you going to participate in the Rating Games?"

"I am going to wait until Rias and Sona finish their training. They will be away for another six months."

"How about we move your first Rating Game to your Birthday?" She curiously asked him.

"Why?"

"Lord Odin will be here at that time, and I think it will be great to have him and his family as guests. It may even earn us an audience in Asgard if it is telecasted there. Ne~ What do you say, Ra-kun?"

"My match will only be for my License. I think it will be great if there is a big event that will catch their interest. They are all warriors, after all." He smiled.

"You are right. There will be a few matches in Top 20 on that day as well."

"Yes, that will do." He nodded and then curiously looked into her eyes. "I heard from Lady Hestia that you speak good of me to her."

"You met her?! Ah, I miss her. I will go see her tomorrow." She cheerfully said. "By the way, Ra-Kun, how do you have access to Crack?"

"Roygun Belphegor. She's Misla's Queen now, and my Mistress."

"Makes sense." She nodded her head and skipped her steps. "What would you have done if Ambeth-Chan had accepted your suggestion?"

"Exactly what I said."

"Oh?" She grinned. "Were you that confident that she would seek her death either way?"

"Haven't you met someone like that before?"

"I have. Damaidosu-Kun was like that. I warmed him again and again to surrender, but he sought his death."

"How did you kill him?" He knew she was talking about Albedo's uncle.

"I froze him, and then I tapped my finger on his head." She pouted, feigning some dissatisfaction. "I didn't mean it, but he just broke into uncountable pieces with just a tap. He was not strong at all."

"Right," He laughed, and she curiously glanced at him before brightly smiling and happily skipping her steps.

When Raizel returned to the Darcaedes Palace, he raised his brow at all the people who were waiting for him, and seconds later, he was being suffocated by their hugs.

Hilda giggled at his predicament and excused herself, leaving him at the mercy of the girls, who had been ardently waiting for him for months.

"You said you would not be gone for long!" Akeno complained, and he sighed before he helped Shirone sit on his shoulder, and then led everyone to his Hall.

"Why are you silent?" Mito raised her brow at him. "Are you going away again?"

As soon as she raised her question, everyone tensed up.

"No, I am not going away. I will be staying for a while. Oh, and Rias and Sona won't be back for another six months."

"What? Why?" Hanekawa asked, quite confused.

"Albedo decided to keep them under training." He shrugged and then smiled at her and Mito. "My, my, you have grown quite strong in just six months."

As soon as the two heard his words, they smiled back at him, happy that he noticed and acknowledged their growth.

"You accepted Cleria into your Peerage." Kuroka, who was staying away from him, suddenly said.

"Yes."

"A Bishop?"

"Yes."

"Why not a Pawn?" She smiled.

"I don't choose the pieces, Kitty." He smiled at her, having sensed that there was something wrong with her.

Looking into her eyes, he soon figured out what it was, and kept quiet about it since it was not something that she wished to let anyone know about.

"Where's Erza?"

"With her Father." She informed him. "Ban is at his home. Moka is missing. Guts is with his wife, Casca..."

"Wife?"

"Yes. They took their vows. Thought they were alone, but I was watching." She grinned.

"Bad Kitty."

"She's pregnant too, but doesn't know it yet." She grinned, and everyone looked at her in surprise.

"Guts is having a baby?!" Akeno exclaimed, and then brightly smiled. "This is a happy news."

"Yes, but let's not reveal it to him. Wait until Casca finds out and tells him. We will congratulate them when they will inform us about it." Kuroka said to them, and everyone obediently nodded their head.

"Where are your Peerage Members?" Raizel curiously looked at Akeno.

"Kiba, Gasper, and Loup have taken Tosca along to explore the Devildom. Akame is training under Okita Souji. Shera has gone to visit her family."

"Tsubaki and Reya are at the Sitri Palace. Lady Sitri is personally helping them with their Devil Magic training," said Hanekawa when he turned to look at her.

"I see." He smiled and then went to take his seat on the sofa, putting Shirone in his lap. "Want to know about the new Rating Game Model?"

"Yes!" Mito excitedly said and jumped on the sofa to sit by his side.

Pretty soon, everyone else was seated around him as well, and he then informed them about today's Devil Council meeting.
