DXD: The Awakening Of Phenex

Chapter 180: Chapter [180]

Rizevim's Hideout - Main Hall

In a vast underground hall illuminated only by flickering torches, Rizevim Livan Lucifer sat on an ornate throne made of a material as black as night. He surveyed the surroundings with a look of disdain and contempt, his cold eyes reflecting the light of the flames. Silence reigned, broken only by the occasional drip of water echoing off the stone walls.

Before him, Euclid Lucifuge, always humble before Rizevim, knelt. His posture was submissive, but his eyes shone with determination.

"Rizevim-sama," Euclid began, keeping his head down. "I have crucial information about the current situation in the underworld and a proposal that I believe will be of great interest to you."

Rizevim, with a slight scornful smile, gestured for Euclid to stand.

"Speak, Euclid. I hope your information is as valuable as you think."

Euclid rose slowly, maintaining a respectful posture. "The situation in the underworld is deteriorating rapidly. The disappearance of Falbium Asmodeus and the choice of Diehauser Belial as the new Maou have caused great turmoil. The Old Satan faction is gaining support from several important families."

He paused, observing Rizevim's reaction, who merely raised an eyebrow with mild interest. "These families, dissatisfied with the status quo, are ready to support a revolution. They are all willing to unite against the current Maou leadership."

Rizevim, always cynical, let out a short laugh. "Interesting. But what exactly are you proposing, Euclid?"

Euclid stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with intensity. "I propose that we start a civil war in the underworld. We have the perfect opportunity to destabilize the current regime and seize power."

"You really believe that starting a civil war in the underworld is the best strategy? We've seen this before, Euclid. History is full of similar failures."

"Rizevim-sama, I understand your hesitation, but the situation is different this time. We have a trump card that no one could foresee," Euclid said, determined to change his master's mind.

Rizevim leaned forward slightly, curious but still skeptical. "And what would that be, Euclid? Something so grand that it convinces me to embark on this insane plan?"

"Trihexa," Euclid said, his words heavy with meaning. "Trihexa is real."

Rizevim's expression changed instantly. He straightened on the throne, his cold gaze becoming more attentive. 'Trihexa, the apocalyptic beast...'

Euclid noticed the change and continued, seizing the moment. "With the use of the Sephiroth Graal, we can locate and control Trihexa."

Rizevim drummed his fingers on the arm of the throne, thoughtful.

**Thud, thud, thud.**

"If you are lying about this, Euclid, your life will be snuffed out before you can take another step."

Euclid shuddered, a chill running down his spine.

He knew Rizevim did not make empty threats. "I am telling the truth, Rizevim-sama. With the Sephiroth Graal, we have the ability to locate and awaken Trihexa."

Rizevim smiled, a cruel and satisfied smile. "Interesting. Very interesting. It seems you have managed to capture my attention."

Euclid let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you, Rizevim-sama. I knew you would see the potential in this opportunity."

Rizevim knew well the powers of the Sephiroth Graal. 'With Trihexa under our control, not only the underworld but all of creation would be plunged into absolute chaos. Now that would be fun.'

"Prepare yourself, Euclid," said Rizevim, his voice full of malice. "We will begin the preparations. And remember, a single slip and you will pay with your life."

Euclid nodded vigorously, still trembling slightly. "Yes, Rizevim-sama. There will be no mistakes."

Rizevim leaned back on the throne, his thoughts turning to the destruction he was about to unleash. 'The real chaos is just beginning.'

Riser's Mansion in the Underworld - Riser's Room

Riser was sitting on the edge of his bed in his room, shirtless, looking at the mirror with a disinterested expression.

Sona entered the room, her expression serious and determined.

"Riser, you're still not dressed," said Sona, standing in front of him with her arms crossed. "You should be getting ready for Diehauser's nomination ceremony as Maou."

Riser sighed, standing up slowly. "I don't want to go, Sona. I don't see a reason to attend this ceremony."

Sona huffed, clearly frustrated. "You are the head of the Phenex family, Riser. You have an obligation to go to show support for the new Maous, including my sister, Serafall."

Riser looked at Sona, his eyes reflecting a mixture of fatigue and resignation. "I know that, but I can't get excited about something so... boring."

Sona approached, taking a shirt from the closet and handing it to Riser. "Please, Riser. Do it for me, for Serafall, and for our family."

Riser sighed again.

He took the shirt and began to put it on. Sona, seeing that he was giving in, took a tie and started to adjust it around Riser's neck.

As Sona adjusted the tie, Riser couldn't help but think. 'This day is going to be endless and tedious,' he thought, keeping his expression calm.

"Thank you for understanding, Riser," Sona said softly, finishing adjusting the tie.

Riser gave a weak smile, feeling a little more motivated by Sona's presence at his side. "Let's go, then. May this day pass quickly."

Gremory Mansion - Ballroom

The ballroom of the Gremory mansion was dazzling, decorated with elegance and sophistication. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceiling, casting sparkling lights on the guests. The walls were adorned with rich tapestries and ancient works of art, reflecting the nobility and history of the Gremory family. Tables were arranged along the walls, covered with white linen cloths and filled with delicacies and fine drinks.

In the center of the hall, Ajuka, Serafall, Diehauser, and Lord Belial were surrounded by pure-blood devils, all engaged in lively conversations. Ajuka watched attentively, maintaining a calm and serene expression, while Serafall, despite the smile on her face, seemed a bit tense.

Lord Belial, imposing and proud, stood next to his son, Diehauser. He looked around, satisfied with the attention Diehauser was receiving.

"Diehauser, my son, I am immensely proud of you," said Lord Belial, his voice filled with emotion. "Today is a great day for our family. With you as Maou, the Belial Clan will prosper like never before."

Diehauser, always humble, smiled at his father. "Thank you, father. I know the responsibility is great, but I will do my best to honor our name and bring prosperity to our clan."

Lord Belial nodded, his eyes shining with pride.

Ajuka approached Serafall, who was conversing with a group of devils. Noticing Ajuka's approach, Serafall turned to him, her smile fading slightly.

"Ajuka, it seems many important guests have yet to arrive," Serafall commented, worried. "The scheduled time is approaching, and there are still several families absent."

Ajuka nodded, sharing the concern. "Yes, I noticed that. I hope there are no problems on the way. The absence of so many pure-blood families might indicate something more serious."

Serafall sighed, trying to maintain her composure. "We need to stay alert. We can't let any unforeseen events ruin this ceremony."

The arrival of Dimitri and Latia drew curious looks and whispers among the guests. Dimitri, always elegant, walked beside Latia, who maintained a graceful and confident posture. They greeted those present with nods and discreet smiles.

Shortly after, Riser and Sona entered the hall. Riser, with his usual confidence, maintained a neutral expression while Sona, at his side, displayed a serious demeanor. They were quickly surrounded by some devils who greeted them and exchanged cordial words.

Rias, who was conversing with some guests, spotted Sona and Latia. She approached with a warm smile.

"Sona, Latia, it's good to see you here," said Rias, her voice full of joy.

Sona smiled, relaxing a bit. "Rias, it's always good to see you. How are things?"

"All is well, considering the current situation," Rias replied. "Latia, how are you? It's been a while since we last saw each other."

Latia smiled politely. "I'm well, Rias."

Riser approached Diehauser, who was surrounded by some devils. He waited for an opportune moment before stepping closer.

"Diehauser, congratulations on your nomination," said Riser, his voice firm and respectful. "You certainly deserve this position."

Diehauser turned to Riser, a sincere smile on his face. "Thank you, Riser. I appreciate your words. I know the responsibility is great, but I am prepared to face it."

Riser nodded, maintaining a serious expression. "I'm sure you will be an excellent Maou. If you need anything, you can count on me."

Diehauser shook Riser's hand, his gaze full of gratitude. "I appreciate the support, Riser. Knowing I can count on you is reassuring."

Riser maintained the smile, but his thoughts were very different. 'Done, I've fulfilled my part of the protocol. I don't need to pretend anymore.'

With these words, the two devils separated, each returning to their respective interactions, as the ceremony approached its most important moment.
