Papa was still busy with that boring activity.
Kimiko was still unsure why someone as smart and strong as her Papa would need to go through with the burden known to her as School.
She couldn't just imagine why. The worst thing? Even others that were either stronger or weaker than him did the same!
It was confusing, so genuinely confusing that this would become something of a routine. Maybe she was missing something. Perhaps she had missed something within that dull homework that made it all worthwhile.
It was difficult to imagine. Albeit still flawed, Kimiko was a fast-learner of the fascinating activities entertained by other humans.
Truly interesting to learn about the complicated life that many dwellers of the 'urban scenery' were entangled into, to see them struggle and ultimately either prevailing or perishing under the pressure exerted either by their tasks or by the expectations of those issuing these jobs.
Truly an odd and insane world. One which sadly saw her still deprived of her much-needed belly-rubbing. And chin-scratching.
She would've been happier if her Papa had given her just another headpat before leaving.
…
Okay, maybe she would've been fine with two- three! Yes, four would've been enough to satisfy her craving just for a while.
But here the Sprite Dragon was, sitting by the edge of the building's roof with a bored look plastered on her face while her legs distractedly kicked around the nothingness.
A huff left her lips while her red eyes scanned the large sight over the school entrance for anything interesting to distract herself with.
She had just seen two stupid humans getting chased by a large group of furious females, but that entire chase turned stale before the fact the Dragon didn't knew what was the reasoning for that angry mob.
But that was a while ago, and right now there was nothing for her to be distracted with.
What a drag- maybe she should convince her Papa to just skip school for a while.
A couple of free days equaled to an immeasurable amount of affection!
A squeal almost left her… but the fiery girl tensed up as she felt someone land on the floor a couple of meters behind her seat.
Kimiko jumped back and away from the inconvenient spot, her sight swiftly locking onto the intruder and… she scowled.
Him again!
Irritation swelled before the gloating smile present on his features. The creature strutted smugly, surely to draw more annoyance out of her as she growled at him.
A tiny chuckle, then his smile widened.
"Kimi-tan! You're back!" Shiro, the Cat Familiar, greeted merrily. "Today is truly a good day, isn't it?"
She snorted. "How could it be a good day if Papa is busy with silly school! Do you find glee in the fact I'm currently bored?"
His smile twitched a little, but it was mere confusion that wavered his confidence. It wasn't the rightful cowering her superiority demanded from such a lowly being.
"Oh, is your Papa busy with lessons too?" He inquired with some surprise. "Mama is usually busy with that too, but she wouldn't mind if I decided to pass by for some head-scratching."
Gloating! He was gloating in front of her! The feline fiend, the horror- the aggravation!
"Are you mocking me!?"
"No?" The kitty replied calmly, a suave frown replacing his serene expression. "I mean, I don't wish to mock you but… I'm sorry if I did sound like that."
And now the false effort to appear apologetic. The nerve coming from her current issue!
Boredom might be dealt through little effort, but an outright pest like Shiro? Now Kimiko felt like today was going to be an annoying day for herself.
"You- You're trying to pick on me! You're a pest that is outright undermining my chances of finding peace!"
The dragon growled fiercely, her hinder leg tensing up as she prepared to rush him. "I will deal with you now, you cur!"
She bolted without wasting further time, but instead of fright or dread at her sudden approach, Shiro's amber eyes lit at the challenge.
"Oh? Are we playing tag?" His tail wagged a little. "Nyah~! You're not catching me!"
The mocking comment preceded a sudden speed burst from the kitty as he easily dodged her swipe forward, her claws failing to catch the agile feline with that first attack.
More growling, but now it was matched with an equal amount of eager meowling from the pest.
A meek roar left her lips, and she prepared to make a persistent assault on that offending statement.
Tag? Could he steep any lower than this? To deem a proud Dragon's challenge as a little game only friends would do- This was just begging for her righteous fury.
Her legs pressed her toward the quick-paced white-furred cat, her quick feet hardly keeping up with the swifter creature.
She couldn't catch him in a fair competition, and thus she relied on sharp turns that were easy to pull thanks to the limited 'playing area' they were in.
The roof was fairly small in its perimeter, and the tall railing covering most of the open-roofed area gave her the edge over the kitty.
She was close to finally swipe at the giggling fiend, and she could almost salivate at that legitimate victory at her claw's reach.
But just as she lifted her right claw to conclude that silly chase, her eyes widened in shock as the kitty suddenly blitzed out of her sight and… right by her exposed side.
"Gotcha~!"
A tackle ensued and she eeped before rolling away on the ground. She tried to move out of his grasp, but the cat's paw were far stronger than she expected those to be.
"And now… I can choose for a dare!" Shiro eagerly stated, something that Kimiko couldn't help but silently agree to. The fight… she couldn't recover from this! What a massive humiliation-
Oh?
Her sadness slowly melted away as the cat carefully nuzzled at her upper head, a strange noise coming off from him. Purring. Shiro was purring as he sprawled over her.
"Cuddles~!"
