Chapter 221: Five Great Gods' Fall

Sloane Theocracy's Divine Capital (Kami Miyako), Black Scripture's Headquarters.

Sitting in a room, shrouded with darkness and grim expressions. Those were the scarce members of Black Scripture attending an imperious session. Four members in total attended out of twelve. Three sets and an extra seat.

"The situation is precarious".

In the centre of the table, they stared at a magical projection reflecting the Slane Theocracy as well as its borders. At the northeastern border, there was the Baharut Empire, this territory was labelled with a black sun that resembled heresy.

To the northwestern side, the Re-Estize Kingdom was labelled with a skull that represented miasma.

On the eastern side, the Elf Kingdom was labelled by a dark crown that represented corruption.

Far beyond to the north the Argland Council State was covered in darkness and flames due to the Undead King's conquest, while to the far east, there was war produced by the Heretic Sun God.

"The world has never been this unbalanced" One of them remarked, "This way we may be attacked on three different fronts. There is no possible diplomatic leeway to tackle the Sun God or the Undead King. There is a war happening in the Argland Council State as we sit; it is our moral duty to send assistance to the dragons–"

"Then we'd be weakening our northern borders against the Sun God's arrival," Another one said grimly.

Sitting on the far side, a beauty with black and white hair played with a doll, listening to everything with keen interest.

"We are closely analysing the battlefield in hopes of ripping some profit, but this lack of action may eventually lead to our downfall. I have already advised you to put extra focus on the Heretic Sun whose capabilities and manpower far outstrip the Undead King. Many of our sorcerers are tasked to patrol and lay down arrays day and night to sense his arrival. It is a huge area, approximately two hundred cubic kilometres is the maximum area we can cover, but I am afraid it is not enough".

"Given his character and pride, it is unlikely he would try to invade by land. Put extra focus on covering our aerial space. Due to our past actions, he would know to have an enmity against our state. We should be more worried about him compared to the Undead King" The captain ordered.

"During this junction... it may be disheartening but we must ask the Council State to stall the Undead King as much as possible–"

"This is boring... I won't wait anymore, I'll get going" The girl completely dismissed the meeting and stood up from her seat.

"Where are you going, Zesshi?".

"All adventurers that were sent to his execution in the Baharut Empire were pardoned, some of them returned to the capital; some of them took a diversion. Only the five saintesses haven't returned. It is not far-fetched to think some of them would be informants. His conquest of the Dragon Kingdom and the Beastmen was swift like thunder~ rather than passively wait for an invasion, it is better to make our move".

She swung her hands gracefully and in her hand manifested from the shadows a scythe even bigger than her own body.

"Now that we could have war on two fronts, keeping troops on a stagnant warfare is useless. Remove the troops from the Elf Kingdom's border and direct them to the east. I'll be eagerly expecting the Heretic Sun's arrival in the north with my army"

'And I will test whether he is strong enough for me~'.

The Six Great Gods church was a pacifistic force that forged the doctrine of human supremacy into the citizens of the Slane Theocracy. They believed humanity had to be at its peak with every other race crumbling beneath.

On the surface, a lenient church with warm smiles and familial processions. Underneath; a seed of wickedness that disgusted me to the core.

During our first raid of the night. I had each of my summons join one group as we dispersed to different parts of the city to cover more area. Just in this city alone, there were twenty-three elves.

We surveilled the border city throughout the morning, it served as territory for the Dukedom of 'Hamely' a powerful noble family in the theocracy consisting of sorcerers specializing in water-based spells. They had a close relationship with the Church of the Six Gods.

After a Thursday procession, the Bishop was invited into the Hamely Manor by the Duke's Son, his name was Marshall... the children of the Munroe Family in which we were staying also attended this noble rendezvous.

I observed everything from within limbo with Alana, who was on my team, along with five-star angels and Yuri Alpha. There was a banquet in the manor, which we ignored and headed straight to the basement downstairs; that's what we were looking for.

Not all noble families owned slaves, and among those that could, only the richest and most elite could afford to have elves.

We phased through doors, spell arrays and security without raising a single alarm. When we arrived downstairs, the atmosphere down there was decaying and depressing with nothing more than a few candles to light up the room filled with limescale and dirt, and absolutely no conditions for people to live, regardless of race.

There were a total of twenty cages.

I looked in disgust that in those twenty cages, there were at least a hundred slaves pilled up like tuna—all females of varying ages. In a different room beyond, there were the men and they were put in an even worse condition. We appeared out of limbo like ghosts and immediately caught everyone's attention.

I flicked my fingers and all locks of the cages burned to a crisp.

Those women screamed the ones who could. Some were unconscious in a very bad state, some were 'recently used', and some were too broken to even react. They found out that there was no noise coming out of their mouths regardless of how much they screamed.

They didn't know who I was. For all they knew, I could be just someone else trying to rob them just to put them back on the market.

"Sorry, but this is supposed to be a swift operation. You will all be set free, but bear with me for now" I mumbled and spread my moonlight mist into the whole room. In no time all the cages were empty.

That's how swift the operation was when I was involved; however... I couldn't be with them at all times and we were five different teams. Things were bound to not be so smooth. Sadly, I had severely underestimated the scope of this mission and the amount of people that would be coming into my moonlight mist world.

Werecats, werewolves, werelions, goblinas, dwarves, other humans...

I had told Katsuyu to get a clone into each elf, but elves were the most scarce and valuable slaves. For each slave, there were at least fifty other slaves from other races. I hadn't expected this at all... in a single rescue mission to get two elves... we ended up saving a hundred slaves.

If we were to just estimate that in numbers... that's at least a million slaves.

"Milord... at this rate–" Zariel commented what was in my mind as we watched everyone disappear from this horrible place.

"We need more personnel. Katsuyu's clones in the moonlight mist won't be enough to treat everyone" I mumbled, worried. Katsuyu hasn't been able to manipulate those slime bodies enough to make enough humanoid copies. Her best effort is to try and replicate some of Tsunade's techniques and for that, she needs a humanoid void.

She can create twenty at most, that is nowhere near enough.

'I am sorry, Ray-sama... I miscalculated' She apologised to me, I had to caress her little head to reassure her. With that heavy mental framework, what she could individually sense with each of her clones was minimal.

"You are already doing your best, Katsuyu. I will think of something, just do what you can".

Alana looked at me as if she wanted to say something but the words wouldn't leave her mouth. Zariel spoke the words she wanted to say.

"M-Milord... if we focus only on the elves–" He suggested, I shut him down straight away, not happy at the suggestion.

"I won't do that... I said to Galadriel I'd help her, I can't leave a hundred people to suffer here and take just the elves, Zariel" I groaned, he looked down in shame and said no more.

"Ray, what can we do?" Alana asked me apologetically, she had been thinking of just focusing on the elves too. A deeply ingrained hatred towards other races that I understood. The same hatred I was trying to get rid of.

"We will think of something, but first... Alpha" I turned towards Yuri Alpha and put my hand on her shoulder.

"I live to serve, my supreme being".

"I want you to go up there and massacre every noble, every church bishop and priest..." I whispered in her ears, "And when you are asked whom you serve, you know how to answer, don't you?~"

Yuri Alpha showed a momentary struggle and disgust before she sighed and walked neatly to the entrance of the basement.

"Naturally... I live to serve my master, Ains Ooal Gown".
