Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Longing For A Little Brother
"You underestimate me don't you? It could be costly for you." I concentrate my Ki into the soles of my feet. If Serafall is serious about killing me then taking risks is no way to go.
'That's not my style anyway. Every move I make must not leave me in jeopardy so I must tread carefully.' I prepared myself and got into stance, focusing my energy into the front foot I propelled myself forward and clenched my fist as it started glowing white.
Serafall also prepared herself trying to read my intentions, but I was always unpredictable wasn't I. Defying whatever expectations she may have had I punched the ground with all my might.
*Bam!* *Rumble!* *Rumble!*
The ground beneath collapsed as Serafall avoided getting caught up in it. I jumped up into the air and floated in the sky. She has some advantage in the air but at least I don't have to stick to the ground anymore.
I would be a sitting duck that way.
'Sky Walking for the win.'
"How naughty of you. You just messed up my clothes you little runt." A magic circle with the symbol of the Sitri clan lit up as my instincts kicked in.
I answered back as I scratched my head with an awkward smile.
"Those were already dirty when you got here. And who are you calling a little runt?! You are almost shorter than I am!!" I dodged each attack as I threw boulders at her in between my movements.
"Hmph! I have bigger breasts than a runt would right?" Water tendrils appeared as they tried to get a hold of me. Before they did I dodged to the left and threw a boulder at her, secretly charging a Ki blast.
"Yeah but you throw a tantrum just like how a kid would."
"These clothes were expensive! I thought you were one those quiet-!!" She sensed my attack coming and narrowly dodged it. "-Ones."
"Don't judge a book by it's cover." I said it as I wagged my finger at her in a matter of fact tone.
"That is... Oddly wise of you." She raised an eyebrow at me as I charged straight ahead while throwing a couple of Ki blasts at her. With no other choice I decided to move on to my next plan.
*Boom* *Boom*
She protected herself from the explosions but actually landing a blow was not part of the plan anyway.
"HAAAA!!" I released my energy in a burst used the sky walking technique to kick off the air ahead of me and retreat.
'Pussy.' A warped voice similar to mine sounded in my head and I think a fuse blew in my head.
'Fuck you! You aren't helping!' I retaliated at the voice that compelled me to kill my mom yesterday.
I can't seem to understand it at this point.
'Why would a monster care if I am chickening out or not. She's stronger than I am and I would rather live to fight another day.!!' As I covered more distance I saw a silhouette from a far. As I got closer I slowed down in dread.
'Keep your head in the game.' I sensed an awful amount of killing intent from the direction I was going and... Is that a Hydra made of water!!
'Left, Now!!' I just listened to this voice and gathering energy at my feet to create a quick Ki blast. I felt the wind rushing against my face.
"Wow! Your eyes are glowing red and your aura has gained a red shade, though it's just a tiny bit."
Serafall watched me in awe as I dodge the huge ass Hydra.
"HAAA!" I released my aura in a burst before kicking off the ground and I approached Serafall. She raised a shield to defend herself only for it to shatter.
"You played a trick on me. So unfair!! You ran away!" She had already appeared behind my back.
"I thought you would stay and play with me." She had teary eyes. I felt sweat trickling down my cheek my eyes twitched in annoyance.
"If playing this game means I have to lose my life then I would rather ghost the play date."
"Play date? You have a weird sense of humour and a tricky language, has anyone told you that?" I just shrugged. My mom has always been confused when I speak at times. Same as my friends
"You aren't going to answer that. Okay then, let me make things clear for ya'. It's a mock battle because I got bored and you are strong."
"Seriously lady, you are mistaking me for someone else. I can't do a thing you just said I did."
"Okay, then tell me what happened."
"You see I..." Wait. I can't recall anything that happened in that battle besides seeing an aura that's a mix of black and red surrounding me.
"I don't remember. I was not in control that time."
"And what triggered it." She was getting even more curious about me. Maybe I have a chance. Who am I kidding she must be 300 years old or something.
'But still looking hot.' The voice repeated in my head
'Shut up stupid voice, don't make me come up there!'
'Try it!'
"Near death experience I guess." I was outnumbered by a bunch of High class beings, I should have died.
"Hmm. I think you could have a sacred gear or some sort of inheritance. Can you use this power at will."
"No. But I can hear these weird voices saying I should destroy everything. They sound similar to mine."
"Well, there are three possibilities. One, it's a sacred gear. Two, it is a curse. Three, you have multiple personalities." She kept the questions coming like there was no tomorrow.
"I guess the last one sounds about right."
"How would you know?" She raised an eyebrow at me.
"Instincts." She just gazed at me silently for 10 seconds
"Right. Perhaps your instincts aren't as accurate as I thought." A vein in my head bulged at her blatant ignorance of my abilities.
"Of course they are accurate! My instincts helped me fight a big ass Hydra woman!"
"Whatever you say. Hey, what is your name?" She asked curiously.
"You don't tell strangers names, a name is expensive you know." I gazed at her as I tried to gauge just how trustworthy she is.
Serafall may have been a completely different person altogether before canon even started. But if I think about it, I have never killed a devil from Anti-Satan Faction so I could be wrong.
"What do you want?"
"A contract."
"What kind of contract." She became serious when I mentioned this, already thinking of the worst I presume. War is like that. A veteran is either too paranoid or craves more war. Each participant has different reactions.
"You have to be teach me stuff like magic and any spells. You will not harm my friends, family and village and lastly, you can't betray me." I set my conditions in place hoping she would just agree.
'Just have to wait and cross my heart for this one.' I repeated 'please say yes!' like some sort of mantra.
"A little unfair don't you think." Fuck! My hopes were crushed. Why does she have to be so cautious!
'I am more paranoid than she is.'"You can add more to the agreement."
"First, you must follow all my orders-"
"Pass, I was not born yesterday so how about an alliance instead."
"That could work too but you also have to call me onee-chan." I just gazed at her trying to process her request.
...
"In your dreams because that's the only place I would actually call you that."
"Why do you have to be a big meanie!? It's just this one request," she had tears in her eyes a she pointed fingers at me.
"Because calling you big sister is weird." I replied with a stoic face, watching the a future devil king longing for little brother.
"Come on! I always wanted a younger sibling. Pretty please."
"DAMMIT, NO! No is no!" After I made my point clear she had a smile instead. The type one would see on a sly and cunning person.
"Then that means the contract is off now doesn't it?" I was caught on guard. I wanted to respond but I can't seem to find the words.
"What's the matter? Do you still want to make the deal?" She asked with her eyes slightly opened in confusion as if saying 'Didn't you refuse to make the contract.'
"Fine, you win." I finally admitted defeat. 'At least I got a girl on my list with no conflict. That's a win in my book.'
'Sirzechs, I have secured an ally against the Old Satan Faction. Additionally, I got myself a cute little brother since mom and dad are taking so long...
And I guess you were right. He is even more demonic than what a devil should.' She thought of the weird red Ki the boy was emiting from earlier.
'An odd human this one is.'
"My name is Hisashi. I was just on my way to get myself a sword, since we are not enemies I think you should be on your way."
"Hmph, I'll go whenever I want you here!" I just smiled at how childish she was but I had to get this out of the way.
"I just want to know something. Why are devils attacking humans like this." I whispered to her ears as we walked out of the forest and into a huge town up ahead.
"I am sorry about my kind Hisashi, but since we are about to make a contract I will tell you then. My name is Serafall Sitri by the way." I nodded at her words before she lit up a magic circle. I just remember something.
"Last condition, if both sides trust each other enough then the contract is broken."
