DXD: King of fairies

Chapter 30: Chapter [30]

Upon materializing at the Gremory mansion, Kaito felt the familiarity and safety of the place envelop him. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the tumultuous feelings inside him. He needed to report what had happened to Rias and seek guidance on how to proceed.

As he stood there, still processing the recent events, a maid approached him, bowing slightly in respect.

"Master Kaito," said the maid, her voice soft and polite. "Is there something I can do for you?"

Kaito looked at her, trying to stay calm. "I need to speak with Rias. It's urgent."

The maid nodded, understanding the gravity in Kaito's voice. "Rias-sama is with Akeno-sama in the back of the mansion, conversing. I can accompany you there, if you wish."

Kaito thanked her with a nod. "Yes, please. That would be great."

The maid gestured for Kaito to follow her, guiding him through the mansion's corridors to the back, where Rias and Akeno were sitting in a small garden, surrounded by flowers and trees. The two were conversing quietly, but upon seeing Kaito approach, they immediately sensed that something was wrong.

"Kaito," said Rias, rising from her chair. "What happened?"

Akeno, also noticing the tense expression on Kaito's face, stood beside Rias. "You seem disturbed. What happened?"

Kaito took a deep breath, trying to control his emotions before speaking. "I was summoned to Takashi's house, the man with whom I made a contract to save his daughter, Sakura. When I got there, the house was destroyed, and both were brutally murdered."

Rias frowned, clearly concerned. "Do you think this could be something supernatural, Kaito?"

Kaito nodded, his face serious. "From the state of the girl's body, it can only be something supernatural. No human could do something like that."

Akeno, always perceptive, pondered. "It could be a Stray."

"Stray?" Kaito asked, confused.

Rias explained, using a grave tone. "Stray Devils are Devils who have gone rogue, abandoning their masters or committing heinous acts, making them dangerous and out of control. They often commit terrible crimes and need to be eliminated."

Kaito's expression grew darker upon hearing the explanation. "So, it's possible that a Stray did this?"

Akeno nodded, confirming. "Yes, it's very likely. And we better go there immediately to clean the place before any human finds it."

Rias agreed. "We need to act quickly. Kaito, can you take us there?"

Kaito nodded, determined. "Yes, let's go."

Rias, Akeno, and Kaito quickly prepared, activating their teleportation circles. In an instant, they were enveloped by magical light and transported to the site of the massacre.

Upon materializing at the destroyed house, the smell of blood and destruction was even more intense. Rias and Akeno observed the scene with serious expressions, knowing they needed to act quickly.

"Let's start cleaning this up," said Rias, concentrating her magical energy. "Akeno, take care of the external destruction. Kaito, let's make sure no traces of the supernatural attack remain."

Akeno nodded, using her magic to restore the destroyed parts of the house. Kaito, with Rias's guidance, began cleaning the traces of the attack, erasing any evidence that something supernatural had occurred there.

As they worked, Kaito felt the anger and sadness inside him intensify. He promised himself he would find the Stray responsible for this and bring justice to Takashi and Sakura.

After a while, the house began to resemble what it was before the attack, and Rias approached Kaito. "Let's leave a magical barrier here to ensure no one comes close until we can investigate further."

Kaito nodded, helping Rias erect the barrier. When they finished, he looked at the house one last time, feeling an enormous weight in his heart.

"We'll find the one responsible for this, Kaito," said Rias, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "We won't let this go unpunished."

Kaito nodded, determined. "Yes, we'll find them and ensure Takashi and Sakura get justice."

Rias, seeing Kaito's emotional state, gently touched his shoulder. "Kaito, you've done a good job here. But you need to rest. Go home and rest. We'll take care of the rest."

Kaito nodded, still feeling the weight of the situation. "Alright, Rias. Thank you." He bid farewell to Rias and Akeno and activated his teleportation circle, feeling the familiar sensation of being transported home.

Meanwhile, at the destroyed house, Rias and Akeno continued to work. Rias sat on the sofa, looking at the chaos around her.

"It's unfortunate what's happening in our territory lately," said Rias, with a sigh of fatigue.

Akeno nodded, agreeing. "Yes, Rias. We need to do something immediately. What should we do now?"

Rias pondered for a moment before responding. "We have nothing more to do for now but wait for the Stray Devil."

Akeno frowned. "And if it's not a Stray Devil? Do you think it could be a fallen angel?"

Rias looked at Akeno, her expression serious. "Considering they are in the city, anything is possible."

Akeno nodded, agreeing with the possibility. "You're right. We need to be prepared for any eventuality."

Rias sighed, standing up from the sofa. "Let's go back to the mansion. We need to be alert and ready to act when the time comes."

The two stood up and activated their teleportation circles, disappearing in a flash of magical light. In an instant, they materialized at the Gremory mansion, ready to continue the vigilance and plan their next steps in protecting their territory.

Hyoudou Household

Arriving home, Kaito immediately felt the sense of safety and comfort. He headed to the couch and lay down, trying to process everything that had happened.

A short time later, the front door opened, revealing Miki, Kaito's mother, entering with several shopping bags. Upon seeing her, Kaito immediately got up to help.

"Mom, let me help you with that," said Kaito, taking some of the bags.

Miki smiled, grateful. "Thank you, Kaito. You're always so helpful."

Kaito nodded, still carrying the bags to the kitchen. While organizing the groceries, Miki noticed the tired expression on her son's face.

"Kaito, you look exhausted. Why don't you rest in your room?" she suggested, concerned.

Kaito sighed, shaking his head. "I don't want to bother Asia. She's resting there."

Miki paused for a moment, seeming to remember something. "Oh, where's my head? I forgot to tell you. You weren't here when we left."

Kaito frowned, confused. "What happened, Mom?"

Miki began to explain. "I went shopping and took Asia with me. When we were returning home, a priest stopped us on the street. He seemed to know Asia, and she went with him. Before leaving, she asked me to thank you for everything you did for her."
