DxD: I Steal Luck

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Oono-san, our relationship ends here

Blake stood over him, his expression as cold as the ice. He made no further moves, sparing Marina from witnessing any more violence.

"Stay back!"

Masato whimpered, dragging himself away in terror, ignoring the searing pain in his body.

"Sia, Plunder his luck. By now, the ability's cooldown should be over."

Blake's cold gaze never left Masato as he issued the command internally. He had no intention of letting him go—better to eliminate the threat entirely.

"Understood. Beginning the process."

A crisp, mechanical tone echoed in Blake's mind.

Ding!

Plunder successful. 40 luck points absorbed. Current luck: 125.

Masato's luck plummeted to -2, marked by a faint red glow.

As Blake watched him crawl away, his indifference was absolute. "A sick person like you isn't worth sparing," he thought.

"Finally, luck is on my side today. If I hadn't fully drained his Luck Points, I would've had to take action myself, which would've been troublesome."

Blake didn't bother to glance at Masato crawling away. After nodding in satisfaction at today's gains, he turned his attention to the visibly shaken Marina. With a gentle voice, he comforted her, lightly patting her shoulder to ease her emotions.

"I-I'm fine… Blake, thank you for saving me."

Marina, who had just regained her composure, saw the worried look on Blake's face. Her cheeks flushed slightly as the fear that had gripped her faded away, and she hastily expressed her gratitude.

If Blake hadn't arrived in time, she couldn't even begin to imagine what might have happened.

"When I saw you suddenly rushing out like that, I had a feeling something was wrong. Luckily, I followed you. Otherwise, who knows how bad things could have gotten."

Blake sighed, shaking his head.

"Yeah…"

Hearing this, Marina silently nodded. Her gaze soon turned resolute. With trembling steps, she moved past Blake and took two determined steps toward Masato Oono, who was just about to leave the alley.

"Oono-san, our relationship ends here."

Though Marina was gentle and shy, she knew what had to be done at this moment. Having seen Masato Oono's true nature, she had no intention of continuing their relationship.

"..."

Masato, still crawling, froze at her words. He didn't turn back, but his face twisted into a terrifying, sinister grimace. Without a word, he stood up despite the pain in his lower body and bolted out of the alley. He feared Blake might notice something and give him another round of punishment.

Blake turned back to Marina, whose head was lowered. Her face was pale, her eyes brimming with tears, and she was on the verge of breaking down. He placed a comforting hand on her back and gently patted her.

"It's okay now."

"Wahhh—!"

Feeling Blake's warmth and reassurance, Marina, who had been trying to suppress her emotions, could no longer hold back. Overwhelmed by the fear and relief of the day, she threw herself into Blake's embrace, burying her face in his chest and sobbing uncontrollably.

In response, Blake could only rub her head with one hand while the other soothed her back, comforting her as best as he could.

After more than ten minutes of crying, Blake carried the now-exhausted Marina toward her home.

Resting her head against his broad back, Marina, whose nerves were still hypersensitive, felt a strong sense of security and soon fell into a deep sleep.

As Blake approached the door of the Akizuki household, Airi Akizuki, Marina's younger sister, came running out. She froze in place, staring in shock at Blake carrying her sister.

"Blake… you and my sister…!"

"Shhh…"

Seeing Airi's astonishment, Blake quickly gestured for her to lower her voice, afraid of waking Marina. Right now, letting her sleep was the best thing for her.

Understanding his signal, Airi glared at him but lowered her voice. She turned and went inside the house, leaving the door open for Blake.

Blake followed her inside, carrying Marina to her room and gently laying her on the bed. Only then did Airi pull Blake to the living room sofa, where she sat on his lap, glaring at him with an intense expression.

"Alright, spill it. What exactly happened? If you don't tell me everything, I'll 'seal' some of your more… questionable requests tonight."

"I get it, I'll explain."

Feeling Airi's breath so close to his face, along with the fiery tone of her words, Blake couldn't help but feel his heart race. With Airi straddling his lap, her smooth skin brushing against him, his body involuntarily reacted, earning him a sharp glare from her.

Blake rolled his eyes helplessly. Could anyone blame him? What man could remain indifferent under such circumstances? If they could, they weren't men at all!

But this wasn't the time for distractions. Blake calmed himself and began recounting everything that had transpired.
