Chapter 121: Chapter 121: A Dark and Windy Night
"Big Brother Blake, aren't you going to sleep?" Kanna asked, tilting her head after Blake had settled Asia in another room.
"Hmm, I still have a bit of business to take care of. Kanna, remember to sleep once you're fully charged," Blake said with a smile as he gently patted Kanna's head, glancing at her tail plugged into a power socket.
To maintain Kanna's strength, a substantial amount of electricity was required, which meant considerable expenses. However, Blake didn't mind money; keeping Kanna well-powered was the priority.
"I understand," Kanna replied without objection. She nodded before lying down, her tail still plugged into the bed's nearby socket.
"I guess I will go and take care of the matters too," Blake said, offering a warm smile as he left the room.
On the rooftop, Blake sat with his eyes closed, seemingly lost in thought.
Time flowed like water, and after an unknown amount of time, Blake suddenly opened his eyes and looked ahead.
In the distance, four figures, each with a pair of black wings, were rapidly flying toward him.
"Finally here? It seems a bit late, or are you planning to kill me in my sleep? How tasteless of you," Blake said, scanning the four figures hovering not far away, his gaze ultimately resting on the one in the center, wearing a faint smile.
With black hair, a stunning appearance, and revealing clothing that exuded temptation, it was none other than the fallen angel Raynare.
"You already expected we would come?" Raynare looked at Blake with a grim expression and said coldly. It was unpleasant to have one's thoughts so clearly seen through.
"You can think of it that way," Blake replied indifferently. In fact, he had been controlling the movements of Raynare and the others from the start. The reason he hadn't killed them earlier was because of Asia. Now that the goal was achieved, it no longer mattered.
"Go! His Sacred Gear should be able to split into dozens of swords. If you pay attention, dodging won't be difficult!"
At Raynare's command, the three fallen angels under her, Mittelt, each summoned a light spear in their hands and shot them toward Blake with a whooshing sound.
However, in the next moment, Blake's aura became incredibly sharp, like a drawn sword. At the same time, to Raynare's horror, dozens of swords formed of energy appeared in front of him and shot toward them.
In an instant, six light spears were riddled with holes from the sword form energy, and the remaining sword rapidly covered Raynare and the others.
[Poof—!]
Faced with this attack, only the stronger Raynare was able to narrowly avoid it by diving toward the ground. The other three weaker fallen angels, however, were pierced through and fell to the ground, blood gushing.
Seeing this, Raynare's beautiful face twisted into an expression of pure rage. She materialized a small light spear in her hand and hurled it at Blake.
"Brat, you've pissed me off. Time for you to die!"
With that, Raynare charged toward Blake, her light spear leaving a brilliant trail in the air.
"Ding—!"
However, the next moment, Raynare's expression froze as Blake simply used one hand to grab the light spear firmly.
At such speed, to grasp the spear between his fingers and stop it was a feat that even High-Class Devils wouldn't dare attempt, as a small mistake could result in serious injury.
But now, a mere human had done it!
"Stop struggling. Even if you're ten times stronger, you won't be able to get your spear back," Blake said indifferently, watching Raynare, who was frantically pulling on the spear but couldn't move it an inch.
With his physical strength that could rival Top High Class Devil Ranks, this was child's play.
"Damn it!"
Raynare gritted her teeth, abandoning the first spear and quickly summoning another one with her other hand, charging at Blake again.
[Bang—!]
However, before she could reach him, a dull sound rang out. Raynare gasped in pain, her body freezing in place.
"Now, what should I do to punish you?" Blake asked coldly, lightly brushing her face as he spoke.
"Damn it!"
Raynare, having snapped back from the pain and fear, clenched her teeth and kicked toward Blake.
[Bang!]
However, her attack was far too weak to reach Blake. Even if it did, it would have no effect. Blake, disinterested in being hit, countered by kicking her out of the air, sending her crashing to the ground and creating a crater several meters in diameter.
"Cough, why is a human this strong?"
Raynare, severely wounded and feeling weak, stared at Blake, who calmly jumped down from the rooftop and landed on the ground, muttering in disbelief.
There were exorcists, psychics, and mages among humans with extraordinary powers, but someone with physical strength on par with a typical dragon race—Raynare had never heard of such a thing.
"This time, I won't kill you. Go back and tell your governor, Azazel, not to bother me again," Blake said coldly, standing over Raynare, looking down into the crater she had created.
Raynare's mission was entrusted by Azazel to monitor Issei. Now that he himself was on her list, Blake deduced that it could only be Azazel behind this.
"...!"
As Blake's words fell, Raynare's pupils contracted, her expression frozen in shock as she stared at him.
So it was true.
Noticing Raynare's change in mood, Blake raised an eyebrow. If it had been a mere guess before, now it was confirmed. However, Blake couldn't understand why someone like Azazel would send someone to monitor him.
