DxD: I Steal Luck

Chapter 115: Chapter 115: The Awakening of the Sacred Gear!

Blake had barely taken a step forward when the three fallen angels locked eyes with him.

"It's him! Shit—run!"

Without hesitation, the trio turned on their heels and bolted, disappearing into the night like terrified prey.

Blake blinked.

"Am I really that scary?" he muttered, watching their hasty retreat.

Shaking off the thought, he approached the bloodied figure sprawled on the ground. The boy's chest barely rose and fell, his breathing faint.

"Still clinging to life, huh?" Blake crouched down, studying Issei's deathly pale face. "You're lucky. If you died now, it would be a hassle for me."

He reached into his pocket, pulling out a small vial of shimmering liquid. Without a second thought, he poured the potion onto Issei's open wound.

The moment the golden droplets touched his torn flesh, the wound reacted, muscles stitching themselves back together at an unnatural speed.

Then, something unexpected happened.

A deep crimson glow pulsed from the back of Issei's left hand. The air around them seemed to hum with energy. A low, guttural growl—like a dragon stirring in its slumber—echoed in the night.

Blake's eyes narrowed.

"The Red Dragon Emperor…? Guess this near-death experience triggered it."

But before he could process it further, a sharp pain exploded in his right eye.

"Argh!" Blake staggered, gripping his head as his vision flickered violently. His crystal-blue iris burned, veins bulging around it like it was being rewritten from within.

Then, without warning, the red glow from Issei's hand surged toward him.

The energy shot forward like a streak of lightning—

—and slammed into Blake's right eye.

His world ignited in agony.

"Sia!" he roared mentally, panic creeping into his voice. "What the hell is happening?!"

"Master, don't resist! Pour all your energy into your right eye!" Sia's usually playful voice was sharp with urgency. "I'll use your luck points to forcefully convert it into aether energy—otherwise, you won't survive!"

Blake cursed under his breath, his hands trembling as he focused everything he had into his right eye.

His vision blurred. His body felt like it was being crushed under the weight of a mountain. Energy coursed through his veins, burning, twisting, reshaping—

Seconds stretched into eternity.

Then—suddenly—the pain stopped.

Blake gasped, his chest heaving. His skin was clammy, his limbs shaking from the ordeal.

Lifting his head, he caught his reflection in a puddle nearby. His right eye had returned to its usual crystal-blue color, but at its center…

A sliver of crimson gleamed ominously.

Blake exhaled, steadying himself. "Sia… what the hell just happened?"

"You survived, barely," she responded. "But you've also awakened something unprecedented. Your crystal-blue eyes aren't natural, Master. They're a special Longinus-class Sacred Gear—Blue Sigil Crystal Eyes."

Blake stiffened. "A Longinus-class Sacred Gear? Me?"

"Yes. And not just any Longinus—yours was designed specifically to counter other Sacred Gears. It can seal them. That's what just happened. When Issei was on the verge of death, the Red Dragon Emperor tried to choose a new host… and your eyes stole it instead."

Blake's expression darkened as he processed the revelation.

"So… my right eye just absorbed the Red Dragon Emperor's Gauntlet?"

"Correct. But it was risky—if you hadn't reacted fast enough, the surge of energy would've killed you," Sia explained. "You used up 424 luck points just to stay alive."

Blake groaned. "That much? Damn."

A moment of silence stretched between them. Then, Sia spoke again.

"Master, your Sacred Gear is unique. It can seal Longinus-class Gears, but it comes with extreme risks. Normally, no one would be able to awaken it—because the activation process is lethal to most people."

Blake let out a slow breath. "So I have a power that no one's ever awakened before… and no idea what else it can do?"

"Essentially."

Just then—

Ding!

[Congratulations, host, for successfully activating the Longinus-class Sacred Gear: Blue Sigil Crystal Eyes! Reward: 500 luck points.]

[Current luck points: 716.]

Blake smirked despite himself. "At least I got some of my luck back."

His gaze drifted to Issei, who was still unconscious.

"Sorry, Issei," Blake murmured. "Looks like your Sacred Gear's my medical fee for saving your life."

With that, he turned on his heel and disappeared into the night.
