Dungeon of Niflheim

Chapter 774: Khione (2)

Shivali's attitude was firm and unyielding, he was determined to uphold the pact that he and Dark made all those years ago.

Frost felt stifled under the Primordial Ice King's gaze but that didn't stop him from speaking out. "Uncle I understand that you and my father made an agreement in the past but to speak of a sudden marriage, your daughter and I hardly know one another and I'm already in a committed relationship with two other women." Though he would admit to finding Khione very attractive that alone was not enough for him to delve into a relationship let alone one as serious as marriage.

Khione was mentally nodding her head in agreement, she didn't want to be forced to marry someone she just met, especially someone weaker than her.

The fact that Frost was already in a relationship with two women didn't bother her. Her father had many women in his harem, so such a thing was seen as natural by her but more importantly she had no plans to pursue any kind of relationship with Frost thus his love life was of no concern to her.

"Haaaaa young Frost you misunderstand. I'm not expecting you to tie the knot immediately, just interact with one another for a period of time and let things happen naturally." Shivali was unperturbed by Frost's subtle evasion. He too cared not about his other relationships, even if Frost was already married as long as he was an ideal fit for his daughter he'd still arrange their union.

Frost wanted to continue but an overwhelming pressure assaulted him, cutting his words short.

Shivali then looked at his daughter that was still frozen and glaring at him with a look of unrestrained fury.

Dealing with her was going to be tricky. He'd tried all manner of methods over the years to regulate her abrasive behaviour, strict, gentle, forceful, distance, indirect, tricking, bargaining, but all of them either ended with him giving up due to his own softness or her squirming her way out of his grasp either by her own methods or by using her mothers or siblings as shields.

Being the youngest in a large family and with unrivalled beauty from birth she was spoiled rotten, by him most of all thus she became arrogant, wilful and incredibly rude to everyone she met.

Underneath all that however Shivali knew that his daughter was kind, loyal, brave and hardworking. One just needed to break through her tough exterior to see it.

"Khione normally by this point I'd cave to your whims but not this time." Shivali's expression and very aura shifted from that of a kind parent to that of a King, the ruler of this vast realm.

"Daughter as Ruler of Niflheim and the Primordial Ice King I order you to accompany Frost during his visit. You will guide him, spent time with him and learn about his life and you shall tell him of yours."

Khione desperately fought against her frozen state, wanting nothing more than to rip her father's handsome face to shreds. How dare he get the balls to force this injustice on her, she'd be sure to tell her mothers and older siblings all about his cruelty. See how he likes having the entire family turn against him.

"Khione!!" Shivali knew his daughter well; her every thought was easily seen.

The frozen stiff young woman, unable to move or voice her protest felt a great weight crush down upon her. Her father was actually using his divine radiance to force her to submit, even if she used all her strength she was powerless against the strength of a God.

Tears started to form in her eyes, she felt bullied and frightened, she'd never seen her father act this way at least not towards her. As Shivali put it she was his precious baby girl.

"Khione." Seeing genuine fear in his daughter eyes Shivali felt his heart twist in pain, he softened his tone and removed the divine pressure. "I'm your father Khione do you really think I'd do anything harmful to you?" He asked softly, knowing that she couldn't respond except via thought.

"Frost is a good man, talented, true of heart and no less hardworking than you are. I'm sure if you give him a chance you'll see him in the same way." Shivali gently stroked Khione's cheek in an affectionate, soothing manner. But her tears continued to fall, breaking his fragile heart.

"Haaaaa my dear baby girl please don't cry. If after interacting with him for a period of time you still don't foster any feelings or fail to see any romantic future with him you can call off the engagement." The Primordial Ice King finally softened his stance, unable to endure his youngest daughter's tears.

"I just hope that you'll give it a chance and if love does ultimately fail to take root between the two of you I hope that at least you'll become good friends like Dark and I." Though he sorely wished to become brothers with his old friend he wasn't willing to force his daughter into a marriage she didn't want.

Khione calmed down a lot after hearing what her father said. Her tears stopped falling and her anger had subsided somewhat.

Her father was back to his usual self, and he had delivered his ultimatum, as long as she endured for a short period of time he'd rescind his order of marriage, an easy task to accomplish. She could humour Frost or whatever his name was for a time.

Despite her father's strong support, his good looks and comparable background Khione still failed to see Frost as nothing more than a weak man with a pretty face, completely off her romantic radar.

"I'll remove your frozen state Khione, do you promise to act civil and not lash out." Shivali took a step back from his daughter and calmly asked.

Again Khione could not respond with her voice, nor could she display a proper expression. All she could do was look into Shivali's eyes and think.

The Primordial Ice King seemed to get the response he wanted. With a simple wave of his hand the divine energy that was restricting Khione vanished, releasing her from her entrapment.

Khione fell to her knees, her body exhausted from fighting both the freezing effects and the short display of Shivali's divine power.

Shivali moved to lend a hand, but Khione slapped it away choosing to stand via her own strength.

With her spear still tightly gripped in her hands she used it as crutch before standing boldly in front of her father.

With the two of them standing face to face the similarities were uncanny. Khione had much of her father in her facial structure while her body -minus the overinflated muscles- resembled that of her mother.

She stood just a few inches shorter than Shivali, her hair white like his and styled in a high ponytail alongside two intricate braids that fell from her ears to her shoulders. She lacked the silver burning tips as well as the floating sash of cold flames that wrapped around her father's body, but she did have over a dozen ice crystals embedded in her skin which as opposed to many of her siblings was dark almost black in colour.

Her mother was a mutant among her kind, born with dark skin rather the typical white amongst her race. In her youth she was shunned and even abused for her unnatural pigment, many seeing it as an ill-fated omen. Alas she eventually overcame her problems, realising that her uniqueness was a gift rather than a curse.

She held potential far greater than the rest of her kin and with a great deal of effort and meeting the love of her life the Primordial Ice King Shivali she rose to Godhood, becoming the second Goddess among his harem.

Khione was the daughter of two Gods and respected her mother greatly. Her dark skin that stood out amongst her siblings was her pride and joy. She enjoyed flaunting it off, drawing the gazes of those in their territory, searing the greatness of both her mother and herself in their eyes.

Even now her outfit revealed much of her dark, chiselled body. Her tight fitting clothes covering only her vitals, sensitive areas and joints leaving most else exposed to the natural air.

This was her common attire, training clothes that greatly supported freedom of movement.

From an outsiders point of view however it was quite the stimulating choice. And Frost despite having a great deal of self-control towards such things repeatedly found his gaze wandering. Khione's muscular physique and eye watering figure being quite tantalizing to his eyes. Shame she ruined it with a mouth rougher than that of wizened sailor.

Don!

Suddenly Khione attacked her father without any hesitation or warning. With a tightly clenched fist she punched the left side of his face, unfortunately her momentum met a thin membrane of divine energy instead of soft pliable flesh.

And before Shivali could react -or choose to react- her spear slapped his right side, once again only managing to clash against a membrane of divine energy.

"Tsk divine raiment, so annoying."

"Khione you promised to act civil." Shivali's upper lip was twitching, and an obvious frown appeared across his forehead.

"Chill out old man, I'm done. The first hit was for freezing me and the second was for bullying me." Khione crossed her arms under her chest in a provocative manner, donning an irritated expression as she pouted.

Her father never removed the raiment, any and all attacks would be stopped by his divine energy. Only a God could pierce it. Shivali's body was both the best and also the worst kind of punching bag. You could hit it all day and not leave a single scratch but none of the blows would feel good, like punching cotton, lacking the desired rebounding force.
