“Hmm.”
Cheon-ho was, for the moment, satisfied with the letters of light that filled his vision.
Unlike Cheon-ho, however, Luciel, having removed her hands from her eyes, spoke cautiously.
“Please don’t be too disappointed. I’ve heard that even 2-star and 3-star heroes don’t have many skills when they start.”
Apparently, she couldn’t see his status window.
‘Then why did she cover her eyes?’
A momentary question arose, but she was cute, so he decided to ignore it.
Cheon-ho asked, “Is everyone’s level 1 at the beginning?”
“At first, yes, but if your actual skill level is higher, it will be adjusted quickly. Do you have any particular skills?”
Luciel asked with sparkling eyes. She looked like she was ready to shower him with praise, no matter how small the skill.
“Just a little.”
Cheon-ho answered vaguely and asked another question about the status window. “Are there no specific stats?”
“No, it’s not perfectly quantified. However, as your level increases, your overall physical abilities and magical power will increase. And if you acquire abilities like Strength or Agility, those specific physical abilities will increase further.”
“I see.”
This was enough for now. Cheon-ho closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. He didn’t need to recall his father’s words. He’d simulated this kind of situation as well.
What he needed now was information. Geographical information, to be precise.
“Um…”
“Call me Luciel.”
“Okay, then call me Cheon-ho.”
“Yes, Cheon-ho.”
“Hmm. So, Luciel, is this place safe?”
“Huh?”
“Are we inside the Great Labyrinth right now? Or outside? You said you escaped from headquarters. How far are we from it? Are there any enemies nearby?”
“J-Just a moment.”
Luciel took a breath after the barrage of questions, even gulping before answering. “We’re inside the Great Labyrinth right now. To be more precise, the headquarters was outside the Great Labyrinth, but the situation was so urgent that we had no choice but to escape inside. I don’t know exactly where we are in the Great Labyrinth, but we’re definitely in the 1st floor area.”
“Enemies nearby?”
“There don’t seem to be any in the immediate vicinity, but there will be some if we go a little further inside.”
“By ‘nearby,’ you mean…?”
“About a 50… no, 30-meter radius?”
It was a vague answer, but it seemed unlikely that enemies would attack their current location immediately.
Cheon-ho looked around again.
Inside the labyrinth.
A place with a stone ceiling, walls, and floor. There was naturally no way to obtain food or water.
In other words, it wasn’t a place they could stay for long.
“Will we reach another location if we go further inside? What were you planning to do after summoning a hero?”
“Well… I was planning to enter the Great Labyrinth with you. Other senior angels have already summoned heroes who are currently exploring the labyrinth. If we go down a few floors, we’ll reach places where people from our world live. So… it’s roughly like this.”
Luciel squatted down and began to draw a picture on the floor with something like chalk that she’d pulled out of thin air.
‘A dungeon with multiple starting points, huh.’
Looking at the rough labyrinth map Luciel had drawn, he understood the general idea. Perhaps because it was a Labyrinth World, the Great Labyrinth contained numerous sections within each floor.
And on certain floors, there were large areas that connected the entire floor. These were probably the places where the original inhabitants of the Labyrinth World lived.
‘I need to go down.’
Securing food and water was the priority.
Cheon-ho looked at Luciel again and asked, “Luciel, do you have any special abilities? Tell me what you can do.”
She was an angel, so she had to have something.
At Cheon-ho’s question, Luciel nodded vigorously and clenched her fists. “I can use Purification Magic. It’s magic that removes poison and harmful energy.”
“And?”
“Um… I can use Healing Magic. Restoration magic.”
“And?”
“I-Inventory!”
“Inventory?”
“Yes, it’s spatial storage magic. I can put a lot of things into my own personal space.”
Luciel brightly replied and stretched out her hand. A round hole about the size of a human head appeared in the air. It seemed to be a space where she could store items.
“Capacity?”
“Um… about 10 meters wide and 10 meters long? The height is the same.”
“Can people go inside?”
“Oh, no. Living things can’t go in.”
“Hmm.”
Cheon-ho nodded.
And he thought to himself, ‘Awesome.’
Purification magic, healing magic, and even an inventory. The status window too – it was all so game-like and fascinating.
But Cheon-ho maintained his composure. He looked at Luciel and said, “So you have no combat abilities.”
“B-But I’ll do my best! I’ll even throw myself in harm’s way to protect you, Cheon-ho!”
“Your intention is enough.”
Cheon-ho averted his gaze and took a deep breath before speaking again. “Do you have any information on the enemies we might encounter on the 1st floor?”
“Yes, I’ve memorized almost everything!”
Luciel said, clenching her fists.
Suppressing the urge to clench his own fists in response, Cheon-ho stood up.
“Alright. We’ll talk about the information later. It seems we need to prepare to move.”
Having said that, Cheon-ho walked towards the kitchen table. He placed the empty ramen container and cup on the floor and carefully flipped the table over.
“Cheon-ho?”
Instead of answering, Cheon-ho manipulated a device on the underside of the table and thought, ‘It’s a good thing the table came with me.’
The best-case scenario would have been to have his wardrobe with him, but this was better than having only his shoe rack.
Cheon-ho continued to work his fingers. With a click, the lock disengaged, and the bottom of the table opened automatically.
And inside, hidden from view…
“W-What is all this?”
Luciel asked, her eyes wide.
Looking at her dazed yet pretty face, Cheon-ho recalled his father’s words.
‘Son, a prepared man is the one who catches the beauty—no, the Demon Lord.’
His father’s words were always right.
His father, who had told him to always keep the necessary items around, just in case he was summoned.
Cheon-ho pulled out one of the many items hidden under the table, a throwing knife, and said, “Weapons.”
