Chapter 14: Chapter 10: Breaking Point
Jaeho sat in the back seat of his car, staring out the tinted window as the city passed by in a blur. He was supposed to be on his way to another suffocating business meeting—his father's latest scheme to tie him tighter into the family empire. But all he could think about was Eunsu's voice, raw and trembling with anger.
"You're a coward."
The words hit like a slap, replaying over and over in his mind. He had built his life on control, on staying one step ahead of everyone else. But Eunsu had seen straight through him, peeling back every carefully constructed layer until all that was left was the truth Jaeho had been too afraid to face.
He didn't want this life. He didn't want Minji. He wanted him.
"Change of plans," Jaeho said suddenly, his voice cutting through the silence.
The driver glanced at him through the rearview mirror. "Sir?"
"Take me to this address," Jaeho said, pulling out his phone and typing in Eunsu's location.
The driver hesitated, but Jaeho's glare left no room for argument. The car turned sharply, and Jaeho leaned back in his seat, his jaw tight with determination.
Eunsu's Apartment
Eunsu paced the small living room, his nerves frayed. The last few days had been a whirlwind of emotions, and no matter how hard he tried to distract himself—painting, cleaning, even binge-watching some mindless show—his thoughts always circled back to Jaeho.
The knock at the door came suddenly, sharp and deliberate. Eunsu froze, his heart racing.
When he opened the door, the sight of Jaeho standing there, his suit slightly disheveled and his dark eyes burning with something unreadable, made Eunsu's breath catch.
"What are you doing here?" Eunsu asked, his voice steadier than he felt.
"I needed to see you," Jaeho said, stepping inside before Eunsu could stop him.
Eunsu crossed his arms, glaring at him. "You've got some nerve showing up here after—"
"I ended it."
The words hung in the air, cutting off Eunsu's protest.
"What?" Eunsu said, blinking in disbelief.
"With Minji," Jaeho clarified, his voice firm. "It's over. I told my father, I told her—it's done."
Eunsu stared at him, his mind racing. "Why would you do that?"
"Because I don't want her," Jaeho said, stepping closer. "I don't want the life they've planned for me. I want you."
Eunsu's breath hitched as Jaeho reached out, his hand cupping Eunsu's cheek.
"I'm done running," Jaeho said softly, his thumb brushing over Eunsu's skin. "If this is reckless, if it's messy, I don't care. I'll fight for this—for us."
Eunsu swallowed hard, his resolve crumbling under the intensity of Jaeho's gaze. "You can't just say that and expect me to—"
Jaeho didn't let him finish. His lips crashed against Eunsu's, silencing every doubt, every fear. The kiss was raw and desperate, a collision of emotions that left them both trembling.
Eunsu melted into him, his hands gripping Jaeho's shirt as if afraid he might disappear. "Fuck, Jaeho," he murmured against his lips. "You drive me insane."
"Good," Jaeho growled, his hands sliding down Eunsu's back to pull him closer. "Because you do the same to me."
They ended up on the couch, their bodies tangled as Jaeho kissed his way down Eunsu's neck, leaving a trail of marks that made Eunsu gasp and shiver.
"Don't stop," Eunsu whispered, his voice breaking as Jaeho's hands roamed over his body, every touch igniting sparks beneath his skin.
Jaeho's lips moved lower, his tongue flicking over a sensitive spot that made Eunsu arch beneath him. "You're so fucking perfect," Jaeho murmured, his voice rough with desire.
Eunsu let out a breathless laugh, his fingers threading through Jaeho's hair. "You're obsessed."
"Damn right I am," Jaeho said, his teeth grazing Eunsu's collarbone. "And I'm not letting you go."
Eunsu's heart pounded as Jaeho's hands slid beneath his shirt, his touch firm yet reverent. When their eyes met, the intensity in Jaeho's gaze sent a shiver down Eunsu's spine.
"You're mine," Jaeho said, his voice low and possessive.
Eunsu smirked, though his cheeks were flushed. "Then prove it."
Jaeho's response was immediate, his hands and lips moving with a purpose that left no room for doubt.
Hours later, they lay tangled together on the couch, their bodies spent but their hearts racing.
Eunsu rested his head on Jaeho's chest, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on his skin. "You really ended it with her?" he asked softly, his voice tinged with disbelief.
"I did," Jaeho said, his hand brushing through Eunsu's hair. "I'm not going back."
Eunsu was quiet for a moment before looking up at him. "So, what happens now?"
Jaeho's lips curved into a faint smile. "Now, we figure it out. Together."
Eunsu's chest tightened, but for the first time in a long time, he felt a flicker of hope.
"Don't fuck this up," Eunsu muttered, his tone teasing but his eyes serious.
"I won't," Jaeho promised, pulling him closer. "Not with you."
