Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Easier than I thought
Under the dark expanse of the night sky, three figures stood motionless, their wide eyes glued to the colossal dragon spiraling above them.
Shenron's radiant glow illuminated the clearing, turning the shadows of the night into vibrant, shimmering light.
"Un... be... lievable..." Pilaf stammered, his voice a faint whisper, caught between fear and awe.
"I-I-It's bigger than a T-Rex!" Mai exclaimed, her trembling hands gripping her weapon tightly.
Her usual composure shattered as she saw the gigantic dragon, the other kind of dragon.
The trio remained frozen, hypnotized by Shenron's divine presence. His massive, coiling body exuded a power that turned the night to day, and his deep, thunderous voice broke the silence of the night.
"Reflect upon your desires, mortals," Shenron declared, his booming words shaking the ground beneath them. "For I shall grant any wish... but only one."
Pilaf, Shu, and Mai were momentarily paralyzed by the weight of Shenron's voice; it felt as if an explosion happened whenever he spoke.
Finally, Pilaf stepped forward, his small frame trembling, his blue skin glowing under the dragon's light.
"Okay... Right... The wish... O-Okay!!" Pilaf stammered, gathering all the courage he could muster. "I wish to rule—"
VWWWWWW. (For the sake of clarity, whenever the Onomatopeia VWWWWWW is used, It means King Crimson was activated since writing the entire sequence would be boring from the POV outside of Zaiko, so if you read VWWWWWW, it means King Crimson was activated and time was erased.)
Time was erased. In an instant, Pilaf was hurled meters away, landing in a heap, while Oolong, mid-leap to sabotage the wish, was slammed to the ground. Standing where Pilaf had been was a man clad in a brown military uniform, a red scarf draped around his neck. His crimson eyes glinted sharply in the dragon's light.
Zaiko stood silently, his imposing figure radiating an air of menace. Mai, snapping back to her senses, raised her gun and unleashed a full magazine of bullets in his direction.
VWWWWWW.
To Mai, it felt as though time had skipped. She had only pulled the trigger once—or so it seemed—but her magazine was suddenly empty, the spent casings rattling uselessly on the ground.
Confusion turned to dread as she realized Zaiko now stood directly beside her.
Without a word, Zaiko delivered a swift, precise karate chop to her neck. Mai's eyes widened in shock before her unconscious body crumpled to the ground.
Shu, trembling, grabbed Pilaf and bolted, carrying the diminutive emperor on his back into safety.
"Amusing," Zaiko muttered, his tone calm and indifferent as though the entire thing had been just a show.
Turning to Shenron, Zaiko stepped forward with deliberate movements. His piercing gaze met the dragon's glowing red eyes.
"I wish for the ability to learn and replicate any ability I see, using Ki, just by seeing it once."
Shenron's eyes flared a deeper crimson, and the heavens rumbled ominously.
But the dragon hesitated.
A single droplet of what looked like sweat slid down the side of his massive head, glinting in the glow.
"I cannot grant that wish," Shenron rumbled, his voice carrying a rare spark of embarrassment. "It exceeds my capabilities."
Zaiko frowned, his eyes narrowing. "Then what can you grant me?" he asked, glancing briefly at Oolong to ensure the pig wasn't attempting anything stupid.
Shenron's eyes glowed once more as he processed the request. "I can greatly enhance your learning ability, allowing you to master techniques and knowledge far faster than normal."
Before Zaiko could respond, the ground beneath him began to tremble violently.
He glanced over his shoulder to see Violet speeding toward him on a Capsule Corp bike, her disheveled hair flying in the wind. Behind her, Pilaf's castle began to shake, cracks spiderwebbing through its walls.
"Shit!" Zaiko cursed, the rumble growing louder. "Fine, okay! My luck with dragons sucks anyway," he muttered, turning back to Shenron.
"I wish for greatly enhanced learning ability to master techniques and learn knowledge far faster than normal. Better?"
Shenron's crimson eyes flickered momentarily before he nodded. "Your wish has been granted. Fare you well."
With a booming sound, the dragon balls shot into the sky, streaking across the heavens like fiery comets, leaving behind only silence.
Zaiko exhaled heavily, the tension in his body easing for a moment—until his attention snapped back to Pilaf's castle.
A massive figure burst through the castle's ceiling with a deafening roar, sending debris flying everywhere.
A great ape had emerged, its immense form illuminated by the glow of moonlight.
Its claws tore through the rubble, and its roar shook the air as it began its rampage, destroying everything in its path.
"Ain't Goku a bundle of joy," Zaiko said, watching the Great Ape—Ozaru—leap away from the ruins of Pilaf's castle.
The massive monkey crashed through the nearby forest, uprooting trees with every step. Its rampage only grew as the moon rose.
In the distance, Zaiko spotted Shu struggling to carry Pilaf and Mai toward a nearby plane.
They barely managed to board before taking off, engines roaring as they flew into the night clear sky.
Their escape was short-lived tough. With an ear-splitting roar, the Ozaru ripped a massive tree from the earth and threw it like a missile.
The plane wobbled in midair before the trunk smashed into it, sending it spiraling to the ground in a violent crash. After a few moments, a cloud of smoke rose up.
Zaiko smirked nervously, then heard the unmistakable roar of Violet's bike approaching from behind.
Covering his left eye with his scarf, he activated Epitaph. The future unfolded before him—Violet was zooming past him on her bike, unaware of his presence.
The moment Violet was about to pass, Zaiko activated King Crimson. The world around him dissolved into familiar darkness, time itself erased.
Zaiko watched as Violet moved in slow motion, her bike gliding forward. Before she could pass, he leaped onto the back of the bike, gripping the seat just as King Crimson deactivated.
Reality snapped back into place. Violet's head jerked in confusion as the sensation of skipped time hit her.
She glanced over her shoulder, her annoyance flaring when she saw Zaiko holding onto her bare, nearly naked body—she hadn't bothered to dress properly before taking off.
"I hate that," Violet muttered, rolling her eyes as she accelerated.
Zaiko chuckled faintly, sliding his hands up her sides to her chest in a teasing manner. "Really?"
"Yes. A lot," she replied flatly, not breaking her focus as the bike sped through the forest.
"You told me about the ape," Violet continued, her tone softening slightly. "And the more this happens, the more I believe you." She paused, swerving around a fallen tree.
"So we just have to cut his tail, and he'll turn back to normal, right?"
"Exactly," Zaiko confirmed as they closed in on the scene of the rampage.
Ahead, Bulma was trapped beneath a pile of rubble from Pilaf's castle. The massive Ozaru loomed above her, its massive foot raised, ready to stomp down.
"Hey, stupid!" Violet screamed, her voice cutting through the chaos.
The Ozaru turned its head, momentarily distracted. Zaiko's eyes darted toward Yamcha, who was clinging desperately to the giant ape's tail, shouting something at Puar.
The small cat-bat hybrid transformed into a pair of scissors, flying toward the tail with determination.
"Snip," Zaiko mumbled as he saw Goku's tail get cut off.
The tail was severed just as it had been in the manga and anime. The Ozaru roared, its form shrinking rapidly as it reverted to Goku's small, childlike body.
The boy collapsed onto the ground, unconscious and naked. 'Oh well, that was easier than I expected,' Zaiko thought, watching the chaos settle.
"Hey!" Zaiko called out, shrugging off his jacket and tossing it toward Yamcha, who was panting heavily as he recovered from the ordeal. "Put that on Goku. We don't want him catching a cold."
Yamcha caught the jacket but froze, staring at Zaiko in confusion. His stance shifted defensively until his eyes landed on Violet's almost-naked form.
A deep blush spread across his face, followed by a comical large nosebleed.
"Wh-Wh-Who are you?!" Yamcha stammered, covering his nose while Puar detransformed and hovered at his shoulder.
Before Zaiko could respond, Oolong arrived in a rush, having transformed into a small car.
He skidded to a stop and reverted to his pig form, panting as he pointed an accusing hoof at Zaiko.
"He…! He…!" Oolong tried to speak, his words stumbling over themselves.
VWWWWWW.
"…Wish! We have to!—What?" Oolong blinked, confused, turning toward Yamcha, who was equally perplexed.
"What happened, Oolong?" Yamcha asked, his tone wary as Puar perched on his shoulder.
"He—" VWWWWWW. "…And stared me down—What!? What are you doing?!" Oolong screamed at Zaiko, his panic rising.
Yamcha finally caught on that something was wrong, trying to look serious despite the nosebleed still trickling down his face. His stance remained defensive, though his confusion was evident.
Zaiko smirked, patting Violet on the chest to signal her to move. "Just tell Goku I met Gohan. He'll understand when the time is right."
With that, Violet executed a sharp U-turn, and the two sped off into the forest, leaving the bewildered group behind.
