Chapter 4: Creative Training Plan
Chiaotzu scratched his head in confusion. He had gone to look for some food, and when he came back he found four Tiens training together.
First Tien was floating midair and meditating. Second Tien was doing pushups with a big rock on his back; Third Tien was shadow fighting an invisible opponent.
The Fourth Tien was even more extreme; he was constantly firing dodon rays at the sky. It seems he was training Ki at a high intensity.
"Tien, what are you doing?"
Chiaotzu greeted Tien, smacking away the dodon ray Tien had just fired at him.
"Be careful; I am not here to train right now. You almost hit me and destroyed our food."
"Look, I found a dino deer for us. Let's eat first; we can train together after that."
Chiaotzu threw the big dino deer corpse onto the ground. This was the food he found for Tien and himself.
Tien lowered his finger and stopped firing dodon rays at Chiaotzu. He looked at the time; the sun had gone down.
It was time to take a break after cracking his neck. Tien sat down near Chiaotzu.
Chiaotzu started preparing the meal. He used telekinesis and stripped the dinosaur deer clean.
"Aren't you going to absorb your clones, Tien?"
Chiaotzu asked as he grilled the dino deer.
"No, I won't absorb them, I am trying something new."
Tien explained causally although his friend didn't understand, so he spoke further.
"Do you know how my power is divided between my clones?"
Chiaotzu nodded right away, he knew this clearly.
"Of course, creating clones splits your power equally between them."
Tien smiled; his best friend knew about his technique.
"That's right. My power is divided depending on the number of clones I make."
"If I have a power level of 200 and I create one clone, both Tien will have a power level of 100."
"Similarly, if I create four clones, each Tien will get a power level of 50."
Tien gave a simple math example because Chiaotzu didn't know math.
Even this simple example had Chiaotzu count his fingers for a minute, before he got what Tien wanted to say.
"I got it; if you split in two, you become half as strong as before."
"But when you merge back together, your power level returns to 200 again."
"Four clones merging together is 50+50+50+50, which equals 200."
Chiaotzu puffed his chest out in pride; he did the math and understood Tien's example.
Tien was hiding his face in embarrassment; why did Chiaotzu take a whole minute to do this calculation?
Still, Tien didn't blame him. They were martial artists, not scholars. Neither he nor Chiaotzu ever went to school.
He decided to continue with the explanation. He raised a finger which split into four, like a flower opening up.
"Right, I currently have four bodies, and each one has a power level of 50."
"However, these bodies are just copies of me, and my cells are used to having a power level of 200."
"So, what do you think will happen if my weaker clones start training..? They'll quickly get back the power they've lost!"
"With some training, each clone should individually regain my full power of 200."
Tien smirked and put his fingers together again.
"And when I merge back into one body, all of our power levels will add up."
"I'll have a power level of 800! Through this training, I'll become four times stronger."
Chiaotzu's mouth was wide open; he didn't know clones could be used like that.
This was a wonderful idea; after Tien gets used to his new power level of 800, he can once again use his clones to train.
And when they merge back together, his power level would become 4 times 800, which was a big number, Chiaotzu imagined.
He didn't really know what that number was; he didn't know how to calculate such big numbers.
"That's amazing Tien!"
Chiaotzu exclaimed in excitement.
"If you keep getting stronger, you'll defeat Goku in no time."
"You can continue training with clones, until you become the strongest man in the world."
Chiaotzu celebrated on Tien's behalf; his excitement made Tien happy as well.
The two friends ate barbecue and drank spring water, celebrating until they were stuffed.
It was nighttime when they were done. Tien and Chiaotzu were lying on their backs.
They were looking up at the night sky. Tien reached out to grab the moon; it seemed so close.
"I don't want to become the strongest man on Earth, Chiaotzu."
Tien said suddenly
"I want to become the strongest man in the universe."
"Maybe even beyond that. Who knows how many universes there are?"
Tien spoke with his fists clenched while thinking about the 12 universes and the powerful fighters living within them.
Chiaotzu meanwhile raised his eyebrows and observed his best friend. What has gotten into him all of a sudden?
Tien was always serious about training, but recently he was acting much more focused.
"That's an amazing dream Tien, but what's gotten into you?"
Chiaotzu scratched his cheek.
"We usually train together; I can tell your focus has improved."
"What is it? Why are you training so hard? It's like you have found a goal."
Tien smiled at the question. As expected of his best friend, he couldn't hide it from Chiaotzu.
Turning on his side Tien flexed his biceps; looking at his streamlined body, he had a smile on his lips.
"I do have a goal; I want to rebuild the Tricolps race."
Creating two extra arms, Tien admired his biceps.
"My powers are so cool; it's such a shame I am the last of my kind; there should be more of us."
"I want to focus on rebuilding my race, with me as their new king."
Tien raised his fist and pumped it in the air, but Chiaotzu just looked at him weirdly.
"You want to be a king?"
He sat up and asked Tien with confusion.
"King of whom? You don't own a kingdom Tien; we live in the mountains."
"Neither do you have people to rule over; you don't even know how to rule."
Tien ignored Chiaotzu's complaints and chuckled to himself. He pushed himself off the ground and sat upright.
Absorbing his arms back into his body, Tien gazed at the sky calmly. He wasn't talking without a plan.
Chiaotzu had raised some good points, but he had an idea. To build an empire, Tien was going to copy the Frieza force.
"I know I am starting from scratch. That's why I need some allies and talented subordinates to rule over."
"My strength will guarantee my status as king, while my subordinates will help run my future kingdom."
"This is the arrangement I have thought of. I think it will work just fine."
Tien was sure it would work because this was how Frieza ran his empire. Leaving things to talented subordinates was the best strategy for him.
And while Tien was thinking about his Triclops empire, Chiaotzu was frowning thoughtfully. After hearing Tien's idea, he suddenly remembered Launch.
Chiaotzu recalled clearly; Tien had said something similar when he first began searching for Launch.
"Three days ago, after we finished our training, you decided to find Launch. You were saying something about getting her loyalty."
"Were you looking for her because you wanted to build a Triclops kingdom, and wanted her to be your first ally?"
Tien seemed impressed; Chiaotzu figured it out right away. Nodding lightly, he confirmed Chiaotzu's words.
"That's right, when I realized how useful my powers were, I had decided to rebuild my race."
"But I knew I couldn't do it alone; to run a kingdom, I needed subordinates and allies."
"Launch was the easiest ally to start from. Getting her loyalty was simple thing for me."
Resting his chin on his palm, Tien muttered in a low voice.
"Although Launch is more than an ally. I can't have Tricolps empire without Tricolps children."
Tien smiled gently, then stopped thinking about Launch. He had other important things to focus on.
Wiping dew from his bald head, Tien stretched tiredly and flew towards a cave. Chiaotzu Smoothy followed behind.
On the road to the cave, Tien reabsorbed his clones and decided on tomorrow's journey.
"To build my kingdom, I have to know how a country works."
Tien rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"I will go to Capsule Corp. tomorrow; I can borrow books from Bulma about this."
