Chapter 466 - 468 Malevolent Water Dragon

Chapter 466: Chapter 468 Malevolent Water Dragon
Crossing the boundless ocean, Zhu Minglang stared at the sea’s surface, knowing that if it weren’t for Zhu Rongrong teaching him to use the fixed direction of the tidal surge for navigation, he would have long been lost in this sea with nary an island in sight.

Following the tide, he could at least discern a direction to move forward.

Under the blue sky and over the azure sea, Zhu Minglang had the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon come to a halt on the water’s surface and then quietly felt the breeze blowing past.

If the initial direction hadn’t been wrong, the wind direction would also be constant.

When the wind direction and the tidal surge just so happened to converge, that was the sea he was searching for.

Fortunately, as a Dragon Shepherd, his perception of nature was exceedingly keen. Otherwise, even with this knowledge, he would still be lost.

There was no sea fog, nor were there any storms, just an exceptional calm all around.

After Zhu Minglang had located the deep sea area where the Earth Vein Fire Pistil was, he began to sense the atmospheric pressure.

Pressure is a difficult thing to discern, as sometimes the feeling of breathlessness may be psychological, and the change in pressure could also lead to shifts in wind direction…

Tidal surge, wind direction, atmospheric pressure!

After an entire day spent drifting on the sea, Zhu Minglang finally found the area that best met these three conditions.

However, this area was roughly fifty li in size; if one carelessly plunged into its depths, it might result in a collision with the dark and rigidly hard rock of the seabed.

Lacking one element, it was impossible to achieve the utmost precision, and what remained was for him to slowly find his way through.

“Whoosh–whoosh–whoosh–whoosh!!!”

Suddenly, the tranquil sea surface violently churned, and a large swath of spray soared into the sky, with a huge tail appearing amidst the waves scattering in all directions.

This tail was covered in conical scales, each one incredibly sharp and fearsome.

Its body underneath the water was about fifty meters long, sturdy and robust.

It was a Violent Blood Dragon Shark, and its tail had undergone some mutations; likely a variant among its kind, with an exaggerated physique and sharp fangs that could probably smash even the warships of some nation-states’ armies with a single blow!

Zhu Minglang initially thought the Violent Blood Dragon Shark had surfaced targeting him and the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon.

But upon further thought, the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon was a Dragon King. Although the Violent Blood Dragon Shark looked fierce and dreadful, unless it had lost its senses, there was no reason it would provoke a Dragon King!

“Whoosh–whoosh–whoosh–whoosh!!!”

The seawater continued to splash, with waves striking dozens of meters into the air. While Zhu Minglang was puzzled by the Violent Blood Dragon Shark’s behavior, a long and terrifying silhouette emerged from the dark depths below.

The elongated creature swam near the Violent Blood Dragon Shark and, in a sudden pounce, used its sharp head to impale the wildly furious shark!

Like a flying cable, the lengthy creature pierced straight through the fifty-meter-long body of the Violent Blood Dragon Shark and emerged from the other side!

Blood sprayed in all directions, much like the surrounding waves picked up by the wind.

The Violent Blood Dragon Shark was killed on the spot, and at that moment Zhu Minglang understood why it had rushed to the sea surface—it wasn’t flaunting its might but fleeing from the pursuit of a more powerful and terrifying creature!

Lacerated alive, the lengthy marine creature half leaped out of the water, its body smeared with the blood and viscera of the Violent Blood Dragon Shark. But as it fell back into the sea, the filth was quickly washed away, gradually revealing its light blue glowing scales.

“Malevolent Water Dragon!”

Zhu Minglang recognized the supremely powerful creature at a glance.

Malevolent Water Dragons made their home in the deep sea. Some, even without transforming into dragons, had lived incredibly long lives, uninterrupted during their underwater cultivation by other creatures, leading to fearsome levels of cultivated power. They reigned supreme in whatever region they dwelled, placing themselves at the very top of the food chain as apex predators!

“Goodness, this Malevolent Water Dragon probably has a cultivation base that’s even higher than the Absolute Sea Hawk Emperor’s,” Zhu Minglang used his Spiritual Sense to scout, and he immediately felt a cold, terrifying murderous intent!

The Malevolent Water Dragon’s cultivation base was more exaggerated than he had imagined.

If not thirty thousand years, then it was twenty-eight or twenty-nine thousand years…

This was the first time Zhu Minglang had encountered a Serpent Saint Spirit of such a level!

The ocean was indeed fearful, and the creatures dwelling within it were even more daunting!

“Could it be that this Malevolent Water Dragon is the same one that the elders once drove away?” Zhu Minglang suddenly recalled this event.

Back then, inside the Veins of the Earth, a noise suddenly came from above, and when Zhu Minglang looked up, he barely caught sight of a long shadow.

Zhu Wangxing told him that it was a Malevolent Water Dragon that had been lingering near the Earth Vein’s Trace, with a cultivation base of thirty thousand years.

The very creature that Zhu Wangxing spoke of was right in front of his eyes!

Zhu Minglang might not be able to comprehend what the fourth key element in searching for the secret realm was, but encountering this Malevolent Water Dragon meant he was very close to the Earth Vein’s Trace!!

“I suppose it resides at the Earth Vein’s Trace, which means by following it, we will definitely find the Earth Vein Fire Pistil,” Zhu Minglang couldn’t help but smile.

However, as he smiled, Zhu Minglang realized something wasn’t right.

A Malevolent Water Dragon nearing thirty thousand years in age, its strength must have mostly reached the Lower Dragon King level, which was not on the same level as the Absolute Sea Hawk Emperor anymore!

Why was he so calm about this!!

“Look, didn’t I promise you that I’d find one over twenty thousand years? How about this Malevolent Water Dragon, does it suit your taste?” Zhu Minglang said to the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon.

The Heavenly Slaughter Dragon exhaled through his nostrils.

Twenty-nine thousand years, the taste was just right.

Human Dragon Shepherds could indeed be reliable sometimes!

After consuming the Holy Spirit Blood of the Absolute Sea Hawk Emperor a while ago, its cultivation base gradually stabilized at the Lower Dragon King level. Not long ago, it consumed Holy Spirit Blood that was over ten thousand years old, and that wasn’t even fresh. That somewhat displeased the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon.

This time, it was surely a feast!

The blood of a serpent, it was definitely tastier than that of any Absolute Sea Hawk Emperor, after all, serpents were close relatives of dragons!

Thirty thousand years and still unable to transform into a dragon.

This serpent was rather special indeed.

But whether it transformed into a dragon or not was no longer important to a serpent overlord of such a level, it already stood at the pinnacle of billions of creatures, and its power was certainly not inferior to a legitimate Dragon King!

The Saint Spirit of the Malevolent Water Dragon naturally noticed the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon lingering above the surface of the sea, its eyes showing deep hostility.

“Grrrrr!!!!”

It let out a roar, as if questioning the intentions of the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon in these parts.

The face of the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon already showed some ill-intent, it slowly opened its mouth, revealing two rows of fine Dragon Teeth.

The Heavenly Slaughter Dragon was a blood-drinking creature, possessing two particularly sharp fangs among its teeth. Even though it had already transformed to the point where it could absorb blood qi through its Blood-Sucking Feather Scales, but when faced with a beautiful serpent like this one, it still didn’t mind driving its sharp dragon teeth into its neck’s vessels, slowly savoring the suck!
