Dragon Roar Master at Hogwarts
Chapter 24: Dragon Egg appeared a few months early
"Draco, I really didn't mean to cause you any trouble, I just wanted to help you punish that mudblood."
"That's enough, Parkinson! If you don't make me more trouble, you're doing me a favor. First you hit me with a wine glass, and then you put me in solitary confinement."
"Draco, please forgive me, I didn't mean to..."
"Shut up, Parkinson. Who gave you the right to call me by my name? I just want to give you some face for the sake of your family. Don't rub your nose in your face. I'm going to sleep. I was just beaten by Peeves." It’s so annoying and exhausting.”
Then there was the sound of thumping down the stairs, and then the common room fell silent.
After a while, there were bursts of sobs as thin as mosquitoes, and the sound of turning paper.
Dudley peeked his head out from behind the sofa and saw Pansy Parkinson with tears streaming down her face on the sofa near the fireplace, seemingly reading a book in her hand. But in the green light of the chandelier, Dudley seemed to realize that the cover of the book was a still painting, not a wizard's book.
Dudley quietly retreated and continued to sleep. He was not very interested in this kind of child's puppy love dispute, and he had a hunch that if he came out at this time, he might be in greater trouble.
It seemed that the little quarrel between Malfoy and Parkinson that night had an effect. In the next week, Pansy Parkinson did not give Dudley any trouble, but instead seemed to be deliberately avoiding him.
But Pansy still became the leader of the first-year girls in Slytherin. She found trouble with girls from other houses all day long and was notorious among the freshmen.Especially Hermione, who is particularly active in class, often becomes the target of their ridicule.
"That girl is just a disgusting poodle!" Hermione rarely scolded someone so directly, which shows how annoying Pansy is to her. "I hope she and her friends will be more knowledgeable when they point fingers at others. My own empty head.”
Dudley asked Harry next to him in a low voice: "So what happened?"
"Pansy said that Hermione deliberately stood out in class because she was ugly, and peeked at homework answers while helping Professor McGonagall tidy up her office." Harry shrugged, "But Hermione seemed to be interested in The latter part is more annoying.”
The confinement method that Professor McGonagall arranged for the Harry trio seemed to be just to help tidy up the office, which made Dudley very envious. Snape seemed to plan to let Dudley serve as the cleaner of the Potions classroom this school year.
Just when Ron, who was sitting next to Hermione, was about to comfort her, with the sound of "thumping" footsteps, Snape walked into the classroom with black robes flying. Potions was Slytherin and Gryffindor. Dudley took the Gryffindor seat all the time.
"Dursley, return to my Slytherin seat! Potter, come up and show me the homework I gave you in the last class!" Cousins Dudley and Harry seemed to be regarded as a thorn in Snape's side, almost In every class, he found an opportunity to punish me.
But it was easier for Dudley to openly find trouble like Snape. Dudley was more worried about the Defense Against the Dark Arts course, or to be precise, Professor Quirrell.
Quirrell and Dudley got along well with each other during this period. Every time he saw Dudley in class, he would show a stiff and weird smile. This kind of deeply hidden enemy was the most terrifying.
There were no classes for Gryffindor or Slytherin on Friday afternoon. In the morning, Harry received an invitation from Hagrid to have tea together. Dudley suggested that he, Ron and Hermione go there together.
"Is Hagrid the keykeeper of Hogwarts?" Hermione had never seen Hagrid and was very curious. "Will he welcome us to come with him?"
"I heard my brother say that although Hagrid looks fierce, he is actually quite easy to get along with. I have long wanted to get to know him." Ron said.
Hagrid's cabin was on the edge of the Forbidden Forest. When Harry knocked on the door of the cabin, he heard several low barks.
"Stay back, Fang, stand back." The small wooden door opened a crack, revealing Hagrid's rough face, "Dudley is here too, and he brought two friends with him? Come in."
As Ron said, Hagrid was very friendly to Ron and Hermione and even offered them rock biscuits, although Ron and Hermione put them down after trying them without biting.
"I've already guessed that Dudley was sorted into Slytherin." Hagrid's face full of messy beard laughed. "When it comes to being cunning and cunning, Dudley is also the most cunning among the students I've ever met. You're in line, and Harry, have you ever told your new friends what Dudley was like before?"
Dudley smiled awkwardly. He didn't really want to mention the Dudley who bullied Harry before he time traveled in front of Ron and Hermione. He looked around to see if there was any way to change the subject.
Suddenly, in a bulging bag behind the copper kettle for boiling water, Dudley sensed that there seemed to be something special inside.
"Hagrid, what's in that bag?" Dudley asked, already picking up the bag.
"Wait, there's nothing in it." Hagrid tried to stop Dudley in a panic, but it was already a step too late. Dudley had already taken out the contents of the bag and placed it on the table.
What was placed on the table was an oval egg-shaped object, about thirty centimeters in size, with a light green body that reflected metallic light.
"Uh, this is..." Hagrid panicked, thinking about what to say.
"I know what this is." Ron's eyes shone with a look of surprise. "My brother Charlie has been studying dragons and has taught me some knowledge about dragons - this is a dragon egg! The problem is Hagrid , where did you get it.”
Seeing that he could no longer hide it, Hagrid could only sigh: "Hey, keep your voice down, okay, this is a dragon egg, belonging to a Norwegian Ridgeback. I won it from a hooded man in the Pig's Head Bar. Yes, you have to swear not to tell anyone."
Although Hermione looked at the dragon egg curiously, she still said to Hagrid righteously: "But you should know that raising a dragon in school is a serious violation of the rules. You can't raise a dragon without being raped by anyone." People found out.”
Hearing Hermione's words, Hagrid's eyes dimmed and he just murmured: "I will find a way. Please don't tell anyone. Raising a dragon is my dream."
Dudley did not participate in their discussion, he just looked at the dragon egg quietly with a solemn expression. He knew that Hagrid would have a dragon egg in his hand, but he never expected that the dragon egg would appear so early.
Hagrid's acquisition of the dragon egg means that Quirrell has obtained a way to pass the three-headed dog, so he may steal the Philosopher's Stone at any time. Dudley feels that under this seemingly peaceful daily life, danger is imminent.
