Chapter 26: Broly And Vegeta
After reaching an agreement with the King of the Galaxy, the Saiyans on Planet Vegeta officially became a special armed force in the Galaxy. During this month, some Saiyans who had reached their limits were sent on peacekeeping missions to help the Galactic Patrol fight foes they could not handle.
Bardock was chosen as the commander of this force. Before Link was about to go to Earth, he called Bardock over to check on the peacekeeping force.
"Your Majesty, we have carried out three missions this month, and all have been completed very well. The fighters have pushed past their limits in battle," Bardock reported.
"Are there any complaints from the field?" Link asked.
In the past, Saiyans were conquerors, invaders, and killers. Now, they had become guardians of peace. Some might not accept this change, but Bardock surprised Link with his answer.
"Your Majesty, there are hardly any complaints. Those who join the missions only care about fighting. They do not worry about why the battle is fought."
Link thought for a moment and then understood. Even though many believed Saiyans were naturally violent, not all of them were evil. During the chaos with Turles, those with a truly violent nature died. Now, most remaining Saiyans are neutral or kind.
Link smiled and said, "Okay, take good care of this from now on. But remember to be careful when you move. We have few Saiyans left, and we cannot be as casual as before. Do not risk your life needlessly."
Bardock nodded. Shortly after, Hanasia came looking for him.
"Your Majesty, are you going to Earth?" she asked.
"That's right. Hanasia, you should train more while I'm away. As one of the people who ate the fruit of the tree of might, your combat power is still below 500,000," Link replied.
Hanasia blushed. "Your Majesty, I know!"
After visiting Earth once, Hanasia became fascinated by its culture. When she returned to Planet Vegeta, she secretly brought a computer loaded with TV shows. While others practiced, she spent time watching movies, which delayed her training.
After being scolded by Link, Hanasia couldn't help but tease him. "Your Majesty, are you going to Earth this time for that girl Tights?"
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Link replied.
"Don't deny it. If you think Tights is good, you might as well take her. Besides, didn't you say that hybrids of Saiyans and Earthlings are strong offsprings? As the king of the Saiyans, shouldn't you set an example and give us a hybrid child first?"
Link was speechless. "Alright, I'll try if I have the chance, but I need someone's consent as well."
Hanasia smiled sweetly. "How could she disagree? Even if we are not from the same planet, we are both women. I can see what those two sisters think just by looking at them.
'Huh Bluma to? I'm not some pedo..'
Maybe in the future though.
After handling his government affairs and his wife, Link was ready to leave when someone came to the door.
"Broly wants to see me?" Link said, surprised, as he looked at Paragus standing there.
"Yes, Your Majesty, Broly has been troubled lately. He does not want to stay on Planet Vegeta anymore," Paragus explained.
Lately, Broly had troubling days. Young Saiyans often challenged him. Although their strength was much lower, they used him as their sparring partner. Every time, they would get beaten, then rest in the treatment device for a few days before challenging him again.
Bardock and King Vegeta did not stop these challenges because they helped the young fighters improve. But Broly was growing annoyed.
Today, on the outskirts of the capital, a small house stood on a green hill. This simple house looked different from the usual Saiyan buildings and even reminded one of Namekian homes.
It was Broly's residence. He had left the noisy royal capital soon after returning and now lived here alone.
Outside the house, two young Saiyans shouted:
"Hey, Broly! Come out quickly! Let's fight again! I must show you that I, Vegeta, will be the second strongest Saiyan after King Link—not you!"
"Vegeta, let's just go back. You have lost to him four times already..." a voice came from side.
"Raditz, if you want to leave, just leave! I want to fight Broly! Broly, don't pretend to be deaf—I know you are inside!" the challenger shouted.
"If you don't come out, I'll destroy this place!" Vegeta threatened.
At that moment, the door opened and Broly stepped out.
"Vegeta, I don't want to fight you. Whether you become the second strongest or the strongest Saiyan has nothing to do with me. Please, leave me alone," Broly said calmly.
"How can that be? Among the young Saiyans, you are the only one I cannot beat. If I can't beat you, how can I be second to King Link? Broly, come and fight me!" Vegeta shouted again.
