Chapter 24: Chapter 25: The Three-Times Muken
Day by day, night by night.
Mu taro practiced his martial arts during the day, and in the evenings, he taught Aragon the secrets of Ki cultivation. Aragon was indeed gifted, and after just a few days, he was able to begin channeling Ki within his body. A month later, he was already capable of flying in the sky.
As for Taro, after attempting to dive deep into the ocean for training and nearly losing his life despite relying on the Senzu Beans, he gradually gave up on this form of training. He came to the realization that the limits of his current body had already been reached.
He vaguely recalled that at the beginning of the original story, Master Roshi's combat power was over 170. Based on this, it's reasonable to assume that in his younger years, Master Roshi's combat power could have been over 200. But considering how much he feared Piccolo, it was likely that his power never surpassed Piccolo's.
Therefore, Tarp estimated that his current power level was between 240 and 260. When he thought about how Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha from the original story easily surpassed thousands and even tens of thousands, while he was stuck at a mere 200, even his strong will couldn't prevent him from feeling a bit disappointed.
"In that case, I'll continue developing that technique."
Taro made a decision. Before finding the Dragon Balls to make a wish, he would no longer waste time on meaningless training. Instead, he would continue developing the technique he had completed halfway in the ninja world.
Back when he was in the ninja world, after discovering his Mangekyou Sharingan abilities, Taro started researching this technique. He knew full well that he couldn't bring himself to brutally take his biological brother's eyes just to gain eternal light. Even though he was a transmigrator, this didn't change his final moral boundary and principles as a person.
So, in order to preserve his eye power and have the ability to protect himself even after losing his light, he had been researching a way to turn the two Mangekyou Sharingan abilities into usable "secret techniques."
These techniques would be something that could be learned and mastered from their principles, not special abilities that required possessing his exact eyes.
Unfortunately, this plan hadn't been completed back then, and his brother, Uchiha Musashi, had pushed him to the brink of death. Taro, with his heart in despair, had activated both eye techniques at full power, expending all his chakra, and ended up perishing alongside Musashi.
Now, in the Dragon Ball world, since "Ki" is different from "chakra," all the work had to start over. However, with his previous experience from the ninja world, Taro believed it would save him a lot of time.
So, over the next few months, Aragon saw that his master no longer trained in the sea. Instead, Taro would either stand by the shore, sit cross-legged in the air, or meditate with his eyes closed, occasionally using his hands to calculate, as white Ki energy flickered in and out of his palms.
"Is the master developing a new martial art?" Aragon thought to himself, surprised.
Time slowly passed.
During this period, Yumeko, feeling bored, started learning martial arts with Aragon. However, she soon gave up, exhausted. Fanfan silently prepared their meals, took care of their daughter, and supported Taro. She was a very traditional woman.
"No, no, it's not quite right."
"I haven't fully mastered it, so I can't use it to its fullest potential. Where exactly am I falling short...?"
Taro floated in mid-air, his brow furrowed. The Ki inside his body surged, gathering in his right palm. The white light shone brightly, like the sun, but he was still not satisfied.
With a single palm, he released the gathered Ki. "Boom!" A massive wave rose several meters high.
"This is just a decent martial art at best. It's still far from the secret technique I envisioned, one that could rival the Kaioken."
Tark shook his head and began again.
He immersed himself fully in his Ki, his mental focus transforming into countless fine threads that penetrated deep into every part of his internal energy.
"Perhaps I can do it this way..".
Tark hovered above the sea. He focused, gathering Ki as his aura intensified. His Ki surged, and a layer of white, flame-like light surrounded him.
"Master is amazing..." Aragon marveled from the shore, watching Taro in mid-air. After mastering the sense of Ki, it was the first time he had witnessed Tark unleash his full power.
Taro faced the vast sea, extended both palms forward, and then brought them together at his right side, near his waist.
"Kame... Hame... Ha!"
A ball of blue and white light rapidly formed between his palms.
With a final "Boom!", Taro thrust his palms forward, and the light turned into a massive blue-white Ki blast, shooting toward the distant sea at lightning speed.
The Ki blast skimmed along the surface of the water, creating massive waves on both sides, each at least ten meters high! Taro controlled the blast with his palms, pushing it forward without stopping, veins standing out on his forehead.
"Keep going! Keep going!"
He relentlessly squeezed every bit of Ki from his body, sending it all into his palms, then pushing it forward again.
For more than half a minute, the enormous Ki wave continued, gradually dispersing over the sea. A half-cylindrical "sea path," stretching to an unseen distance, was filled once again with crashing waves.
"Such powerful Ki! What kind of technique is this?!" Aragon exclaimed, utterly shocked.
As the Ki blast gradually dissipated, Taro floated in mid-air, panting. He felt the remaining Ki in his body was almost exhausted and nodded to himself. Now... it would depend on what he could achieve with just a little Ki left.
Taro raised his right palm, attempting to gather Ki for the "Flame Blade" technique... but nothing appeared in his hand. Instead, he wobbled in mid-air and almost fell.
There was too little Ki left, and even the flight technique was difficult to maintain.
Taro bit his lip, recalling the feeling he had when using the two eye techniques, "Ki Control" and "Ki Maximization". That feeling... It was the complete and utter mastery of one's entire strength. It was the sensation of being able to destroy everything with even the slightest amount of power...
"No, it's wrong! No, it's also wrong!"
...
After countless attempts and failures, Taro seemed almost possessed, his mind distracted even when eating. Finally... on the day after four and a half months, Taro floated in mid-air above the sea as usual.
Taro assumed the Kamehame, his expression calm as he gazed at the boundless ocean before him.
The Ki inside his body surged as though it were boiling.
Vroom—
A blue and white Ki wave gathered between his palms at his waist, the light flickering and causing his face to alternate between bright and dark.
The Ki wave continued to expand and compress, expand and compress...
The pressure kept increasing.
"This... Master's Ki is several times stronger than it was a few months ago!" Aragon stared in awe from the shore, feeling a bit ashamed as he thought about how little progress he had made despite his own hard training.
Boom, boom, boom!
Taro thrust the Ki wave forward with great force, and immediately, a Ki wave several times stronger than the one from four months ago shot out like a dragon emerging from the sea, lifting towering waves of dozens of meters high, rushing uncontrollably toward the horizon!
Boom—
Taro pulled his palms, and the Ki wave, which had been about to dissipate, made an abrupt turn! He pulled even harder, and the Ki wave rose into the air!
"This is unbelievable..." Aragon, who had been watching all along, was completely stunned. The way his master controlled the Ki seemed almost magical, far beyond the imagination of a beginner like him.
Taro forcefully pressed his palms downward!
The Ki wave, now transformed into a white dragon, spiraled in the sky and suddenly plunged from the heavens. "Boom!" The sound of a massive explosion echoed, sending waves over a hundred meters high crashing into the sea.
Aragon was drenched by the rain-like water droplets, his mouth hanging open, unable to form words.
The power of this technique had completely surpassed anything he could imagine regarding human strength.
What he didn't know was that while Taro was satisfied, he was not yet fully content. This was still only about three times the power he could generate. If he used the full power of his Mangekyou Sharingan, he could unleash a force thirty times greater.
But first, this intensity of eye techniques would require an immense amount of mental energy to sustain, and even using it for a few seconds would be a challenge. Second, to preserve his vision and the limited power of his eyes, he couldn't afford to use such techniques recklessly, let alone at that "high-powered" level.
"I'll call this... Muken" Taro muttered to himself, naturally taking inspiration from the Kaioken in the original story.
(Kaioken means Kaio fist - Kaio being the technique creator name -. Being inspired by that, he named it MuKen, that literally means Mu fist.)
In comparison, although the Kaioken could also unleash multiple times more power, it placed an enormous burden on the body. As in the original, Goku would be in excruciating pain all over after using it.
However, the Muken that he had developed didn't have that effect. Because, at its core, this technique relied on the practitioner's absolute control over their own power, releasing an even greater force without the physical damage—it was essentially an enhanced version of the "Kamehameha," a technique already capable of great power, but without the destructive toll on the body.
Of course, the requirements for the practitioner's talent and aptitude were extremely strict. Taro believed that without true martial talent, there was no chance of even slightly mastering it.
He, however, had the advantage of his Mangekyou Sharingan and the experience of using the technique, which gave him a distinct edge.
Taro flew back to the shore. It was time to leave this place... The Muten style needed to find an opportunity to open a dojo.
