Dragon Ball: A Better Bulma

The next day, after a sumptuous breakfast, Bulma's party and Doctor Norimaki's family boarded Bulma's airship with one destination in mind: a wasteland where she could fight Arale.

"Doctor Brief's Spatial technology never ceases to amaze me," Doctor Norimaki said, looking around at the large space that the airship Bulma was piloting had.

Spatial technology had obviously been used to expand the space inside the vehicle. The propulsion methods were also quite advanced, based on the spaceships the Brief family had studied.

Turbo Norimaki was excited to feel all the new technology around him, if there was anything to mention about his abilities, it was that they were very much tied to technology, one could say that he was a technopath in fact. 

"Father has made some progress, but we are still discussing the commercial use of this technology, we don't want it to be used for malicious purposes," Bulma replied to Norimaki's curiosity, causing Norimaki to nod.

"I understand, many shady people have approached me with the intention of using my inventions or outright kidnapping me, but fortunately I have Arale to protect me," Doctor Norimaki noted with some sadness.

This was perhaps the pain of the great minds in Dragon Ball, each one was unique, but strangely attached to some sort of group, in some cases more for protection than taste.

The only cases like Doctor Omori or Doctor Norimaki, who worked alone, were unheard of cases. But seeing that both men could live quietly, it was obvious that they had ways to protect themselves.

Doctor Norimaki had Arale as the most powerful bodyguard on Earth and perhaps in all of Universe 7, while Doctor Omori... .... Who wants to mess with someone with a machine that stopped time? Less so now that he seemed to be slowly joining the Capsule Corp.

"Let's not talk about such sad subjects. Look at the beautiful scenery," Midori Norimaki said, pointing to the area outside the window. 

The children approached with curiosity, exclaiming at the beautiful sights they saw. The huge mountains, covered in dense forests, piercing through the white clouds in an imposing manner. 

"Really beautiful scenery," Goku said, his eyes sparkling with interest, especially when he saw a group of five mountains that gave him a strange feeling. 

"What strange mountains," the young Saiyan whispered before he noticed a certain creature that appeared next to the airship. 

"Is that a flying dinosaur?" asked Chi-Chi, amazed at the sight of the giant creature greedily looking at the flying vehicle. 

"Wow! It's the first time I've seen one that big!" said Arale, astonished at the creature's size. 

"It has evil intentions, I can see it in its eyes," Oolong said with a trembling voice, and indeed, the flying dinosaur's eyes were wrong at that moment. 

It was greedily looking at the humans inside the flying metal thing, its mouth salivating at the thought of the feast it would have if it managed to bring down the airship, so it approached the vehicle menacingly. 

"It has a lot of negative emotions," Bulma said before putting the vehicle on autopilot and getting up. 

"Let me warm up," Bulma thundered her hands before approaching the door of the machine, and as she opened it, she could see the dinosaur's huge claw coming at her greedily. 

"It has considerable strength," Bulma commented before pointing her left hand at the creature.

Her purple Ki gathered in her palm and turned into a whip that twisted like a snake before it was lashed out at the creature, striking its outstretched claw. 

The sound of the blow spread across the sky, along with the animal's scream. A scorch mark appeared on the outstretched claw, emitting smoke and a barbecue-like aroma. 

"Give me a reason to let you go," Bulma said coldly, her blue eyes fixed on the giant flying dinosaur, which was no doubt quite intelligent. 

"You hit me, you filthy human!" the creature shouted, and Bulma simply shook her head before stepping into the void. 

"Ah, I can't let you go," Bulma felt the vengeful emotions building inside the dinosaur and decided to end the animal's life here. 

With a step into the void, Bulma dodged Arale's attempt to grab her before she fell. Doctor Norimaki and the young gynoid watched in amazement as Bulma hovered in the air, following closely behind the airship. 

"You can fly!" shouted Arale excitedly. 

"How can you fly?" asked Doctor Norimaki as he saw the obviously illogical scene before him. 

"Sir, you have a psychic son who hovers all the time, what about her flying amazes you?" asked Oolong pointedly, making Doctor Norimaki blush.

"But... I always thought that wanting to fight Arale was just a test, I never thought that Bulma had such abilities," Norimaki commented after pulling himself together. 

"We are martial artists, you know, we use Ki, an energy that is present in all of us, that's where your son's powers come from, he is indeed strong," Chi-Chi brought knowledge to Doctor Norimaki, who looked with interest at the purple whip Bulma was holding. 

"Martial artists like those in the World Martial Arts Tournament? I thought they were just tricks," Doctor Norimaki said, now curious about this energy called 'Ki'. 

"They are not tricks, well, some tricks show up there, but other things are real, you know? Look," Goku presented his left hand, creating a small ball of yellow Ki before closing his hand, scattering small sparks of energy. 

At Bulma's side, her hair fluttered wildly as she flew straight at the flying dinosaur. The creature sensed a great threat from the small human figure and tried to flee, but the purple whip reached out and grabbed one of its legs. 

The crackling sound was heard loud and clear. The creature tried to bite the energy whip, but Bulma had appeared near the dinosaur's head before kicking straight into its jaw. 

"I feel fear coming over you, you're not so brave anymore, are you?" asked Bulma with a smile on her face before she squeezed the whip in her hand. 

The energy fluctuated before the creature screamed in pain. A severed limb fell from the sea of clouds as the limb was cauterized quickly enough that no blood was spilled, all because children were present. 

"Mercy, Martial Artist, I promise not to attack you again," the dinosaur seemed to be used to saying these words, and even folded its two wings in prayer, though it soon fell from the sky for doing so. 

"You have a lot of ill will," Bulma said, shaking her head before clasping her hands together in a pose that startled the dinosaur. 

"How do you know this terrible technique?" the dinosaur shouted, trying to descend as quickly as possible to hide among the mountains and trees. 

It even zigzagged to avoid the future attack, but Bulma had trapped it with her Ki Sense as flashes of purple energy concentrated between her palms, forming a sphere that grew to the sound of her words. 

"Kame!" Bulma shouted, and the pulse of her energy spread throughout the world. 

Everyone who could sense Ki looked in that direction and felt the powerful force emanating from Bulma. Gohan, who was painting a landscape, smiled as he felt the familiarity in this Ki. 

"Looks like someone upset Bulma, who was the fool? Never mind, let's keep painting. Come on, sweetheart, pose for me," Gohan said to a rather beautiful middle-aged mermaid who was posing for him on the beach of Kame House. 

"How about this pose?" the mermaid put her hands on her breasts covered by a shell bra, causing a drop of blood to fall from the old man's nose. 

"Good!" the old man exclaimed before starting the scenery of those two large mountains swaying in front of him.

...

"This is the girl Kami told me about? Powerful, no doubt," Karin said, looking at Bulma through an aquarium filled with water that allowed him to see the present of the entire Earth. 

"She seems to have mastered her energy quite well, although her flying has a lot of room for improvement, if she decides to come up one day, I'll know how to train her," the cat muttered as she waved her staff. 

...

"An energy peak? Hmm, I don't know if it has anything to do with that guy, although it seems to be related to Capsule Corp. but messing with Doctor Brief is not a good idea, that guy has been getting weirder and weirder lately," Pilaf said curiously while looking at the notification that appeared on his screen.

...

"This Ki? Chaoz, can you feel it? It's like that time, but instead of feeling wild, it feels... peaceful, yet powerful at the same time," a three-eyed young man said to his little friend floating around him. 

"Yeah! There seem to be a lot of powerful people on Earth, do you think we will see these people at next year's tournament?" asked Chaoz curiously, and Ten, his friend, nodded with excitement in his eyes. 

"I hope so, it would be good to exchange with them," said Ten, before he looked back at a large ruined spaceship. 

"Looks like we need to improve our training place," Ten Shinhan muttered, before going back to training.

...

"Puar, I know you can't feel it, but I can sense the girl with Goku from here," Yamcha said to his faithful friend, who flew around him worried.

Yamcha had become serious while looking at the sky in a certain direction, something that worried Puar very much. But what he didn't know was that this situation only made Yamcha more determined to change his current path. 

"Puar, let's look for a master, let's look for... the Strongest Man in the World to train," Yamcha said with determination in his eyes. 

...

"Hame!" Bulma shouted the next word, the energy orb in her hand became quite concentrated and began to rotate before a certain characteristic sound came from such an action.

"Has she mastered this terrible technique?" it wondered aloud when it heard Bulma's scream, trying to speed up its movement. 

It was a rather powerful and old flying dinosaur, it ate wherever it wanted and only feared those particularly powerful martial artists, like a certain man who threw logs to get around or his older brother. 

But its greatest fear is and always will be that old man with a turtle shell on his back. One day it was flying through the seas, trying to taste the flesh of fish, maybe a mermaid or two, when it met that old man. 

When it simply dismissed him, because it seemed pointless to meet a decrepit old man, the guy suddenly puffed up and showed off his huge muscles before striking a pose and shouting those words. 

That was the day it decided not to go near any sea or ocean. Even though the old man intentionally missed, the spectacle caused by his energy beam was a psychological mark for the dinosaur. A mark that now seemed to reappear when it heard Bulma's last word. 

"Ha!" the girl shouted before she thrust both of her hands at the dinosaur, unleashing a powerful beam of purple energy at it. 

"If we use numbers to measure her power level... it's 500 power points!" said Goku, which made Chi-Chi quite excited. 

"I will reach that level one day!" the girl said longingly, but Goku shook his head beside her. 

"Chi-Chi, you see wrong, you must want to surpass this level, that's what Bulma would want," Goku advised, making Chi-Chi blush. 

"Yes! I will surpass this number," Chi-Chi nodded, taking Goku's words seriously. 

Bulma's energy beam quickly hit the dinosaur's body, burning it to ashes as the purple Ki shot through its body. 

Bulma's Ki was especially hot when she attacked, which was why the process was so quick. Then Bulma controlled the beam to spin around and through the clouds, dissipating into the atmosphere. 

"How good it feels to unleash big attacks sometimes," Bulma said after a sigh. 

Bulma quickly returned to the plane and was greeted by several shocked looks from everyone present, even Goku, who already had a vague idea of her power. 

Bulma saw these faces and heard their words, something that made her feel comfortable, knowing that her power will continue to grow in time and that she will be able to effectively protect her own world.
