Chapter 56: LOTTERY
Xuanyu asked. "Are you certain this is how you want to use your free wish? To bring back those lost during the Nine-Tails' chaos?"
Tsunade took a deep breath, her fingers curling slightly into fists on the table. "Yes," she replied firmly. "But wait until this meeting is over. If you do it now, I'll have to leave immediately to manage the resurrected ninjas."
Xuanyu nodded thoughtfully. "Understood. I'll hold off until the meeting is concluded."
The room fell silent for a moment until Rias's voice broke through. "So, when exactly are we leaving? Altough I informed my family and peerage using my familiar, but this was an unplanned trip. It'd be better if I returned home sooner rather than later."
She crossed her arms, her crimson hair shimmering faintly under the light as her piercing gaze swept across the group.
Others nodded in agreement, murmuring quietly amongst themselves.
Xuanyu straightened, his expression resolute. "We'll leave tomorrow. It's settled."
Just as the conversation seemed to wind down, Foara raised her hand slightly, looking curious. "That unranked lottery you mentioned earlier… can we use it now, or do we have to return to the shop first?"
Xuanyu glanced at his shop tablet, the faint glow of its interface reflecting in his eyes. A small smile tugged at his lips. "You can use it now. The only question is: do you want to do it one at a time or collectively?"
Lily tilted her head, her long red hair falling over her shoulder. "What do you mean, collectively?"
Xuanyu explained patiently, his voice steady. "Well, you can each use your lottery chance individually, or you can pool them together and spin collectively. Your call."
The group exchanged glances, some frowning in thought, others nodding. After a brief but animated discussion, they unanimously agreed to go for a collective spin.
Xuanyu smirked. "Alright then." He tapped a series of commands on his tablet. Moments later, ten beams of light shot out, merging into a single glowing object that hovered in the air.
When the glow faded, a sleek, futuristic tablet was revealed. Its back shimmered with intricate patterns of nine-colored dragon symbols. Everyone leaned forward, curiosity lighting up their faces.
The tablet's screen displayed a circular white wheel, divided into five segments:
Common, Rare, King, Emperor, Mythical.
Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "Straightforward enough."
Everyone tapped the buttons near the wheel in unison. The wheels on their individual screens spun wildly, vibrant colors swirling like a kaleidoscope.
The tension in the room was palpable. Even Bibi Dong and Renxue, who usually exuded confidence, leaned in slightly, their eyes flickering with anticipation.
The wheels slowed, one by one, until they stopped.
A burst of radiant light filled the room, casting shimmering reflections across their faces:
Bibi Dong and Renxue's tablets emitted a dazzling purple-gold light.
Irene, Lily, and Tsunade's tablets shone brilliantly with gold light.
Almight, Shisui, Foara, and Rias's tablets glimmered with silver light.
Xuanyu's tablet, however, glowed with a modest bronze light.
[PURPLE GOLD-> MYTHICAL
GOLD-> EMPEROR
SILVER-> KING
BRONZE-> RARE
WHITE-> COMMON]
-----
The room was silent for a heartbeat. Then Xuanyu's eye twitched. "Of course…" he muttered, his voice dry as he glanced at his screen and then at the radiant displays of the others. "Seriously?"
Renxue couldn't help but chuckle, covering her mouth with her hand. "It's alright, Xuanyu. Luck can't be on your side all the time."
Ignoring her teasing, Xuanyu refocused on his tablet. The result was displayed in bold letters:
[DING! YOU HAVE USED AN UNRANKED LOTTERY TICKET. YOU RECEIVE:
—> SOUL-SPIRITUAL STONES x8]
---------
SOUL-SPIRITUAL STONES:- These stones are condensed forms of pure soul and spiritual energy. Consuming a single stone increases spiritual strength by 100 points.
------
A wide grin spread across his face. "Not bad. Not bad at all." He clenched his fist, feeling a surge of excitement, his earlier disappointment vanishing. With eight of these, his spiritual strength would increase by 800 points, pushing him directly into the Spirit Sea Realm. More importantly, this would allow him to finally unlock and use his EX Item: RUNESMITH.
He turned to the group, his curiosity piqued. "Alright, what did the rest of you get?"
Everybody looked at each other, then Foara stepped forward,"I got a King-ranked item called Profession: Blacksmith.
-----
[Profession: Blacksmith]
Grants the highest known blacksmithing talent below the Divine level. The user gains instinctive knowledge about metals, forging, enchanting, and crafting. They can create weapons of both magical and technological origins. With enough hard work, one can even forge Divine weapon/mythical rank weapons at peak.
-----
"That's… incredible," Lily said, her silver eyes wide with awe.
Foara grinned. "I know, right? This will be so useful for—"
Before she could finish, Irene interrupted, waving her own tablet. "Hold on! What about the rest of us? Let's not let Foara hog all the attention!"
The group erupted into laughter, their camaraderie breaking through the tension of the earlier suspense.
Xuanyu chuckled and crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow at Irene. "Since you're so eager to jump in, it's your turn to brag about your item. Let's hear it."
Irene's eyes sparkled with pride, and she stood up a little straighter. A sly smile spread across her face as she held up her tablet. "Well, if you insist. I got an Emperor-ranked item—the Ancient Lich's Grimoire."
The room fell silent as everyone's attention snapped to her, curiosity etched into their faces.
-------
ANCIENT LICH'S GRIMOIRE:- A grimoire once owned by the longest-lived lich in the multiverse, who existed for over two eons before willingly choosing to die. The grimoire is a treasure trove of knowledge, containing the lich's vast research and expertise across countless disciplines. Most prominant are Necromancy, Soul Magic, Rituals, Elemental Magic, Summoning magic, Runes etc.
------
The room buzzed with excitement as Irene finished.
Rias narrowed her eyes, her lips quirking into a smirk. "That's… dangerous."
Tsunade frowned, leaning back in her chair. "A grimoire like that could cause a lot of chaos in the wrong hands. Are you sure it's safe?"
Irene laughed lightly, brushing a strand of crimson hair behind her ear. "Don't worry, Tsunade. I have no intention of causing chaos… unless someone gives me a reason to." Her tone was playful, but there was a glint of mischief in her eyes.
Foara whistled low. "An Emperor-ranked item with that kind of knowledge… That's insane. You could become the strongest mage in the group."
Xuanyu tapped his chin thoughtfully. "The Ancient Lich's Grimoire isn't just about raw power. It's also a resource for knowledge. If used wisely, it could turn Irene into one of the most versatile spellcasters in existence."
Irene gave him a proud smile. "Exactly. And trust me, I'll be putting it to good use."
The room filled with laughter again, the group's playful banter putting everyone at ease.
Xuanyu clapped his hands to regain their attention. "Alright, who's next? Let's keep this moving before Irene decides to test her new spells on us."
Rias rolled her eyes but smirked. "Fine, I'll go next. Altough rank is low, but it have very high potential…"
The group leaned forward, anticipation building again.
