Douluo: Infinite Lottery System

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: The Battle's Aftermath

The Soul Fighting Arena was in complete disarray, with not a single intact floor tile remaining. Two figures clashed violently—one throwing a punch to the chest, the other slamming a palm onto the shoulder.

Boom!

The moment they collided, both were sent flying backward, crashing into the rubble.

Xiao Tianyang pushed aside the boulder pinning him down, his shirt torn and his body covered in blood. Yet, his eyes burned with an intense light, like a wild beast that had been pushed to its limits.

The young man on the other side wasn't faring much better. His mask had been knocked off earlier, revealing a delicate, almost feminine face. Though he hadn't collapsed, he clutched his broken shoulder, his face pale and his posture weak.

"How can this really be a lose-lose situation?" the young man muttered, his confidence shaken. He was a full thirty levels higher in cultivation, yet he had failed to defeat a mere Soul Grandmaster. Even he found it hard to believe.

Pfft!

Xiao Tianyang suddenly clutched his chest, coughing up blood as his vision began to blur.

"Yah yo!" Xiao Tianyang cursed in the dialect of his previous life, glaring at the young man. "You crazy woman, is this the outcome you wanted?"

"I can't let you live!" The young man, snapping out of his daze, slowly approached Xiao Tianyang. His sharp eyes could tell that Xiao Tianyang no longer had the strength to fight back.

Though the battle had been far more difficult than he'd anticipated, the young man was determined to see it through. As long as the result aligned with his goals, he could accept the process.

Standing over Xiao Tianyang, the young man raised his flaming sword, his voice icy. "If it weren't for the fact that you know too much, I might have spared you."

Suddenly, Xiao Tianyang, who had been lying motionless, kicked upward with all his remaining strength!

Boom!

Under normal circumstances, the young man would have easily dodged such an attack. But both combatants were severely weakened, and Xiao Tianyang's desperate move caught him off guard. The young man's ankle was struck, and the pain caused the flames in his hand to flicker and dissipate.

But what happened next left Xiao Tianyang even more stunned.

The young man lost his balance and fell forward—directly onto Xiao Tianyang. Their faces were now mere centimeters apart, their noses brushing, their lips almost touching.

The scene was beyond awkward.

Xiao Tianyang felt his life had taken a turn for the absurd. 'First, I accidentally touched him, and now this? He's going to hunt me to the ends of the douluo continent!

Before he could react further, a strong hand grabbed his shoulder and yanked him out from under the young man.

"Teacher..." Xiao Tianyang sighed in relief as he was hauled to his feet like a ragdoll.

"Your Highness!" Two maids rushed into the Spirit Arena, their faces filled with concern as they hurried to support the staggering young man.

"Kid, you've got guts!" Miao Zhenshan chuckled, his face beaming with pride.

"Teacher, let's retreat for now," Xiao Tianyang whispered, his voice low.

Though he didn't know the young man's exact identity, he understood the forces backing him. While Miao Zhenshan was powerful, the young man's faction was not to be trifled with.

"Knowing when to advance and retreat—impressive," Miao Zhenshan said with a nod, clearly pleased. Without further delay, he turned and left.

"Wait!" the young man called out, his voice cutting through the tension.

Xiao Tianyang froze, a bitter smile forming on his lips. 'It seems I can't escape this after all...'

"Little one, I won't pursue this matter today. What more do you want?" Miao Zhenshan turned back, his eyes cold as he stared at the young man.

"What's your name?" the young man asked, ignoring Miao Zhenshan and focusing on Xiao Tianyang.

Most of his anger had dissipated, and the young man realized he had acted impulsively earlier. While he didn't regret his actions, he also knew there was nothing more he could do to Xiao Tianyang at the moment. Asking for his name was perhaps a way to satisfy the lingering frustration in his heart.

"Xiao Tianyang," he replied, meeting the young man's gaze directly. "I won't explain myself further. If you still want to kill me, we'll fight again in a year."

"Fine," the young man said with a nod. He turned to his maids and said, "Let's go."

As they left the arena, Bishop Jacko hurried forward, his face filled with rage. "Your Highness, who did this to you?!"

"It was just a sparring match. Don't make a fuss," the young man replied indifferently. "Stay behind and handle the aftermath. Remember, don't involve anyone else."

"Yes, Your Highness," Bishop Jacko nodded, though a hint of doubt lingered in his eyes.

Meanwhile, Xiao Tianyang, after resting for a while, managed to stand on his own. Seeing that he was stable, Miao Zhenshan left without further ado, leaving Xiao Tianyang to shake his head in exasperation.

"You're my teacher, yet you're so irresponsible?" he muttered, staggering toward the restroom.

As he turned a corner, he heard a familiar voice.

"Tianyang!"

Xiao Tianyang looked up to see Zhu Zhuqing standing before him, her beautiful face filled with concern.

"How did you get so badly hurt?" she asked, her hands trembling slightly as she supported him.

Xiao Tianyang's injuries did look severe, especially with the blood covering his body.

"It's nothing serious. I just need some rest," he said, waving her off.

"Let me help you to the lounge," Zhu Zhuqing insisted, carefully guiding him.

As they rounded another corner, they ran into Tang San and the others, who had just finished their registration. At first, no one could believe that the bloodied man was Xiao Tianyang. But when they saw Zhu Zhuqing supporting him, their disbelief turned to shock.

'This is the same Xiao Tianyang who always seemed invincible? What kind of monstrous opponent could have done this to him?'

Of course, if they knew that Xiao Tianyang had fought a Soul Emperor as a Soul Grandmaster, their astonishment would have been even greater.

But Xiao Tianyang had no intention of sharing the details. Despite his battered appearance, he hadn't truly lost—and that was enough for him.
