Douluo: Infinite Lottery System

Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Why am I even here?

"If that's the case, then go back," Miao Zhenshan said after a moment of hesitation, waving his hand dismissively.

"Wait, aren't you going to explain what the second option is?" Xiao Tianyang asked weakly. "Don't I have the right to know what you're planning?"

"As long as it doesn't harm you!" Miao Zhenshan glared at him. "Right now, you're studying alone at Shrek Academy, and people are interested in you because you have no backing. But what if I announce to the world that you're my disciple?"

"Huh? Didn't you say your school doesn't approve of this kind of thing?" Xiao Tianyang was surprised.

Miao Zhenshan bent down, staring directly into Xiao Tianyang's eyes. "What, is a level 98 Super Douluo not worthy of being your master?"

"You're level 98?!" Xiao Tianyang's surprise turned to astonishment. "But weren't you only level 97 a few years ago? When did you break through?"

"Hmph, what's so difficult about that? It's just one level..." Miao Zhenshan suddenly paused, realizing something was off. He narrowed his eyes and looked at Xiao Tianyang. "I never told you my level. How did you know?"

Xiao Tianyang didn't hide it, pointing to his forehead. "I know it from here."

"Your martial soul is special," Miao Zhenshan said, not angry but rather pleased.

"Alright, you know everything you need to know. Now, go back."

"What about this thing..."

"Are you still trying to negotiate?"

"Fine, see you!"

Xiao Tianyang turned and ran. He knew there was no point in resisting anymore.

"This kid," Miao Zhenshan muttered with a soft snort. Then his expression turned cold. "Now that you have an identity, if anyone dares to touch you, I'll skin them alive!"

---

As the sun set over the western mountains, dusk settled in.

Xiao Tianyang wandered the streets, sorting through his thoughts. He realized that becoming a disciple might not be such a bad thing after all.

Initially, he had found the idea troublesome, disliking the idea of being tied down or controlled by someone else. But now, despite the sense of urgency and authority that came with it, Xiao Tianyang hadn't lost anything.

In fact, with the status of being Miao Zhenshan's disciple, powerful individuals who had taken an interest in him would at most approach him cautiously, never daring to act recklessly.

Of course, there was always the possibility of encountering some lunatic who wouldn't care about a level 98 Super Douluo. But such people were few and far between.

'I probably won't be unlucky enough to run into someone like that, right?'

With these thoughts in mind, Xiao Tianyang found himself back at the blacksmith shop without even realizing it.

Seeing Tang San, Xiao Tianyang walked over and greeted him. "Little San, is everything done?"

A smile appeared on Tang San's face as he patted his storage tool, the 24 Bridges on the Moonlight Bridges. "Everything you asked for is in here. There are a few more complicated items that might take a few more days to finish."

"That's enough for now," Xiao Tianyang said with a casual wave. "We'll be coming to Suotuo City often anyway, so we can pick them up later."

As the two chatted, a muffled sound came from the end of the street. They turned to see a large package, about a meter wide, sitting in the middle of the road.

Xiao Tianyang took a few steps forward and touched the package. "Why is there only stuff here? Where's the person?"

"Here..."

A trembling hand emerged from under the package.

"Who's there?!" Xiao Tianyang stepped forward and stomped down hard!

"Wait!" Tang San quickly pulled Xiao Tianyang back. "Brother Tianyang, that's Xiao Ao!"

"Oh?" Xiao Tianyang lifted his foot and pulled the package aside, revealing Oscar's back underneath.

"You don't have much stamina, do you? Carrying such a small thing and you're already collapsing from exhaustion," Xiao Tianyang teased.

Tang San helped Oscar up and asked, "Xiao Ao, are you okay?"

Oscar's mouth twitched as he heard Xiao Tianyang's words. "A small thing? This thing weighs nearly 800 kilograms!"

"It seems your training isn't enough. We'll have to double it from now on," Xiao Tianyang said with a serious expression, patting Oscar on the shoulder.

Oscar was speechless.

'Why did I even come here? This is just asking for trouble!'

The three of them returned to the academy. As soon as they put their things down, Xiao Wu jumped out from the grass, hands on her hips. "Brother Tianyang, why are you back so late?"

"Shouldn't you be saying that to Little San?" Xiao Tianyang raised an eyebrow.

"You weren't back, and there was no one to cook in the cafeteria!"

"..."

Xiao Tianyang was truly at a loss for words. 'Do they really rely on me that much?'

"Little San, you can handle organizing these things. If you understand, just pack them up first," Xiao Tianyang said.

Tang San nodded. "No problem."

Xiao Tianyang then turned to Xiao Wu. "I'll get started now, okay?"

"Hehe, Brother Tianyang is the best!"

"I'm only the best when it comes to cooking, huh? At other times, your third brother is the best, right?"

"Annoying!"

"Hahaha!"

Just as Xiao Tianyang was about to leave, he suddenly stopped at the door. He heard a noise coming from inside and spotted Saber's back.

"Saber?" Xiao Tianyang called out.

When Saber turned around, there were dark smudges on her face, but more noticeable was the hint of embarrassment in her beautiful eyes.

"Tianyang, I wanted to help you, but..."

"But it seems I failed," Saber said softly.

Xiao Tianyang stepped forward and looked at the dark, unidentifiable food on the plate. He couldn't help but smile wryly. "Can you tell me... what is this?"

Saber whispered, "Tomato scrambled eggs..."

Xiao Tianyang's mouth opened slightly. "I wouldn't have recognized it if you hadn't told me."

Saber lowered her head, apologizing like a child. "I'm sorry..."

"It's okay. When I first started cooking, I wasn't much better," Xiao Tianyang said, placing a hand on her head and ruffling her hair.

"Really?" Saber looked up, her eyes filled with curiosity.

"Of course not. Even when I was six, I could fry eggs better than this with my feet. Hahaha!" Xiao Tianyang burst out laughing.

Saber's face fell with disappointment. "It seems I really don't have any talent in this area."

"Not being good at cooking isn't a big deal. Being good at eating is what matters," Xiao Tianyang said with a smile. "From now on, I'll handle the cooking, and you can handle the eating."

"Really?" Saber's eyes lit up with hope.

"As long as you don't leave, I'll be here to cook for you," Xiao Tianyang said with a shrug.

He took out an apron and headband from his storage ring, put them on, and looked at Saber. "So, what do you want to eat tonight?"

"I'll leave it to you. Anything is fine," Saber replied without hesitation.

She had decided not to make any more choices. In her heart, no matter what Xiao Tianyang cooked, it would be delicious.

"That's the worst answer," Xiao Tianyang said, holding his chin with one hand as various dishes flashed through his mind.

Finally, an idea struck him, and a mischievous smile spread across his face. "How about sour soup pig? What do you think?"

"What's that?" Saber asked, full of curiosity.

"Don't ask yet. It's a mystery. You'll find out when you eat it!" Xiao Tianyang said with a playful glint in his eye.

He was looking forward to seeing the reactions of Tang San and the others when they tasted this dish.
