Douluo: Evolution to Dragon God Starting from Luo Sanpao

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Pope Bibi Dong and the Evolution Method for Luo Sanpao

After testing his soul power, Gu Han calmly stepped down from the platform amidst the mocking comments and disdainful looks of the other orphans. He planned to return to the orphanage to study the Tianyan System, his newly acquired golden finger.

However, due to his abysmally low innate soul power of only 0.25 levels, the soul power in his body was nearly depleted shortly after he left the platform. The Luo Sanpao martial spirit, which had materialized for a few minutes, dissipated into a stream of purple light and returned to his body.

Just as Gu Han was about to leave, he was stopped by the orphanage director.

With the sound of footsteps, the director approached, accompanied by a man clad in golden armor. The man had a slender figure, long golden hair, and a strikingly handsome yet somewhat feminine appearance. Gu Han recognized him immediately—it was Ju Douluo Yue Guan, one of the two titled Douluos of the Spirit Hall.

"Xiao Han, don't leave yet!" the director called out. "Elder Ju has come to fetch you. His Holiness the Pope wishes to meet you. When you see her, remember to be polite, alright?"

Bibi Dong wants to see me? Gu Han thought, sighing inwardly. He had anticipated this outcome.

After all, both Bibi Dong and Liu Erlong were infatuated with Yu Xiaogang—one was the "dark version," and the other was the "normal version." Given their feelings for Yu Xiaogang, it was inevitable that they would seek him out upon learning he had awakened the same Luo Sanpao martial spirit. Being seen as a substitute for Yu Xiaogang wasn't necessarily a bad thing; Bibi Dong would likely spare no resources in supporting him.

However, the real problem lay in the future. Once Gu Han successfully evolved Luo Sanpao's martial spirit, what would Bibi Dong think? Would she demand the evolution method from him to give to Yu Xiaogang, allowing him to prove his title as a master? If so, Gu Han, the true researcher, would be in grave danger.

This dilemma left Gu Han feeling uneasy. If possible, he would have preferred to avoid meeting Bibi Dong altogether. Unfortunately, with Ju Douluo Yue Guan personally summoning him, refusal was not an option. Otherwise, he would face the consequences of defying the Spirit Hall.

"Director... His Holiness the Pope... wants to see me?" Gu Han's cold and handsome face feigned excitement, as if he were about to meet his idol.

"Yes, go with Elder Ju," the director replied warmly.

"Little one, come with me," Yue Guan said softly, his tone gentle and kind. As he led Gu Han away, he couldn't help but feel a sense of感慨. This boy had awakened the same martial spirit as that so-called "master," Yu Xiaogang. Perhaps fortune would smile upon him in the future.

Following Ju Douluo Yue Guan, Gu Han walked through the central square and arrived at a pavilion behind it. There, Bibi Dong sat on a stone bench, her presence commanding and regal. Behind her stood Ghost Douluo Gui Mei, her loyal subordinate.

Bibi Dong was dressed in a luxurious purple robe, adorned with a crown that accentuated her tall, curvaceous figure. Her mature beauty and noble demeanor were undeniable. Even Gu Han, who knew her darker side, couldn't help but acknowledge her stunning appearance.

"Gu Han, greet the Pope!" Yue Guan instructed.

Gu Han immediately bowed respectfully. "Your Holiness."

"No need for formalities. Come here and let me see you," Bibi Dong said with a gentle smile, beckoning him closer.

Gu Han obediently approached. Bibi Dong picked him up and placed him on her lap, her delicate hands gently stroking his fair face. Her expression was a mix of nostalgia and sorrow.

"Your name is Gu Han, right? I'll call you Xiao Han. I heard your martial spirit is quite special—a beast spirit with self-awareness and a physical form. May I see it?" she asked softly.

"Of course, Your Holiness. But my soul power is quite low, and summoning my martial spirit consumes a significant amount of it. I may not be able to maintain it for long," Gu Han replied, scratching his head sheepishly.

"That's alright. I simply wish to see your unique martial spirit," Bibi Dong assured him.

You just want to see my martial spirit? Who are you trying to fool? Gu Han thought wryly. Nevertheless, he pretended to be innocent and summoned Luo Sanpao.

The purple, plush pig-like creature appeared, its deep blue eyes sparkling with life. Under Gu Han's control, Luo Sanpao waddled toward Bibi Dong. As she held the creature in her arms, her eyes welled up with tears.

"Xiaogang..." she murmured softly, her voice trembling with emotion.

Hearing Bibi Dong whisper Yu Xiaogang's name, Ju Douluo Yue Guan and Ghost Douluo Gui Mei bowed their heads, their expressions solemn.

After a moment, Bibi Dong composed herself. She took a deep breath and looked at Gu Han with a gentle smile. "Xiao Han, what are your thoughts on your martial spirit? While it is unique, your innate soul power is quite low—only 0.25 levels. What are your plans for the future?"

Gu Han smiled confidently. "Your Holiness, I believe my martial spirit is special. Although my innate soul power is low, the cardinal who awakened my spirit mentioned that it's the first beast spirit he's seen with a physical form and self-awareness, almost like a real creature."

"If it's like a real creature, perhaps it can grow stronger by consuming the right resources. If so, my martial spirit might be the first in history capable of evolving through nourishment."

This was the method Gu Han had deduced based on his knowledge of the Douluo series. In his view, Luo Sanpao, as the only beast spirit with a physical form and self-awareness, held immense potential.

In the novels, Yu Xiaogang fed Luo Sanpao white radishes to enhance its fart-based soul skills. But if Luo Sanpao could eat, why not feed it precious medicinal herbs like ginseng or ganoderma? In the later stages of the story, Yu Xiaogang consumed a ninth-grade purple ganoderma to break through to level 30, and Luo Sanpao's spirit gradually evolved into the Golden Holy Dragon.

This suggested that feeding Luo Sanpao valuable spiritual herbs early on might accelerate its evolution. Unfortunately, Yu Xiaogang had never considered this, opting instead to feed it radishes, which likely worsened its potential.

Despite claiming to be a master of martial spirit theory, Yu Xiaogang had failed to study his own spirit thoroughly. Gu Han found this utterly absurd. If even your own martial spirit, which is clearly unique, remains a mystery to you, how can you call yourself a master? In Gu Han's eyes, Yu Xiaogang's title as the "Clown Master" was well-deserved.
