Douluo : Diary System in Douluo Continent

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Yu Xiaogang Appears, Liu Erlong: I Just Want to See If It’s Impossible to Reveal the Existence of the Diary!

As Old Jack continued arguing with the gatekeeper, a middle-aged man with a buzz cut, a stubbly face, and a slightly disheveled appearance showed up.

Su Ming glanced at him. He looked much like the person he had imagined. The middle-aged man in front of him was likely none other than the so-called "theory master," Yu Xiaogang.

As Yu Xiaogang approached, Su Ming began to write in his diary through his mind while observing him.

In his previous life, he could only watch these characters on TV, but now, they were alive, right in front of him. Su Ming found this quite amusing.

Perhaps in Su Ming's heart, he had firmly believed this was the world of an anime, and since he had been reincarnated here, he still viewed it with a bystander's perspective, not fully integrated into this world yet.

That was normal. If you suddenly found yourself in a strange world, you'd need some time to adapt and immerse yourself in it.

[Oh, let's not dwell on Tang San holding a grudge against Grandpa Jack and me. The one to save the day has arrived.]

[Just as I expected, Yu Xiaogang has appeared!]

At Blue Tyrant Academy

Meanwhile, Liu Erlong, who had been casually watering her plants while reading the diary, suddenly trembled. The watering can fell from her hands, her eyes welling up with tears. "Xiaogang, after all these years, I finally know where you are!"

Initially, Liu Erlong had only been passively observing the diary, as her heart was still attached to Yu Xiaogang. She didn't care much about anything else.

However, the reward of soul power every seven days for reading the diary was a nice bonus. She figured it wouldn't hurt to keep reading.

As for the other reward, which required Su Ming to mention her name in the diary frequently, that would mean she'd have to go out of her way to get his attention. She wasn't interested in that at all.

But now, upon learning from the diary that Yu Xiaogang was at Nuoding Academy, how could she not be excited? After all, they hadn't seen each other in years since that incident.

Even though she knew they were cousins by blood, she had fallen for Yu Xiaogang before learning that fact. His deep understanding of martial souls and his intelligence captivated her despite his weak power.

She couldn't help but fall in love with him. Even after discovering their familial bond, she couldn't suppress her feelings. Loving someone doesn't need a reason!

Just as Liu Erlong was about to head straight for Nuoding Academy to find Yu Xiaogang, she suddenly remembered the diary's rules—revealing the diary's existence to others would lead to instant annihilation.

With her fiery temper, Liu Erlong had been skeptical of such rules. She was stubborn and even thought of testing it out.

And so, she tested it—and nearly perished.

She deliberately placed the diary in front of a teacher at the academy and asked him if he could see anything.

The teacher looked confused and shook his head.

Still unconvinced, Liu Erlong continued, "You seriously don't see this diary right—"

The moment she uttered the first word, she felt an immensely powerful force lock onto her, causing her heart to race in terror. She knew that if she dared to say another word, she would be instantly annihilated!

She quickly waved the teacher away.

Afterward, she couldn't bear the pressure any longer and coughed up a mouthful of blood. Her heart pounded so hard it felt like it might leap out of her chest.

Messing with the diary came with consequences—it didn't tolerate her recklessness. This had been a stern warning.

Recalling that incident, Liu Erlong stopped herself from rushing to see Su Ming. She couldn't risk exposing her diary replica, or she'd be doomed.

Su Ming knew the storyline, and she couldn't act impulsively.

Though she didn't know why she had received the diary, she believed the day would come when she and Su Ming would meet.

Liu Erlong took a deep breath and thought, "I'll just keep watching the diary updates for now. Knowing Xiaogang's whereabouts is enough. After all, I've waited this long; what's a little more time?"

At the Entrance of Nuoding Academy

Yu Xiaogang stopped Old Jack and the gatekeeper in their tracks, scolding the latter, "You're just a lowly gatekeeper! Whether this boy with innate full soul power can become a work-study student is not for you to decide!"

Yu Xiaogang had overheard their argument from a distance and quickly grasped the reason why Tang San and Su Ming were being held up. He snatched the two proof certificates from the gatekeeper's hands.

The gatekeeper, scolded by Yu Xiaogang, opened his mouth to say something but ultimately remained silent.

Yu Xiaogang was rumored to be a friend of the principal, and though people whispered about him being weak, he was still a Soul Grandmaster at level 29—not someone a powerless gatekeeper could offend.

He wasn't sure why he had acted so irrationally just now. Was it jealousy, or did he simply think the two young boys, who had just awakened their martial souls, were easy targets? Perhaps both.

Yu Xiaogang carefully examined the two certificates, noting the details of Su Ming and Tang San's martial soul awakenings. From afar, he had only heard Old Jack and the gatekeeper arguing about two boys who had just awakened their martial souls but hadn't known what those martial souls were or their talents.

Su Ming, martial soul: Wood Element, innate soul power: level 7.

Yu Xiaogang's eyes lit up. Innate soul power at level 7? A genius! As long as he continued his training, barring any unforeseen circumstances, his future achievements would at least reach the level of a Soul Douluo!

Yu Xiaogang felt a surge of excitement. He had been searching for a disciple to prove his "Ten Core Theories of Martial Souls." Even if his own power was limited, training an outstanding disciple could prove his theories were correct. He needed such a disciple!

He then turned to the other certificate: Tang San, martial soul: Blue Silver Grass, innate soul power: level 10!

His previously brightened eyes dimmed at the mention of Blue Silver Grass. However, upon seeing the line about innate soul power of level 10, his heart surged with excitement once again!

This wasn't just a genius—Tang San was a prodigy! If his suspicions were correct, Tang San's future achievements could rival even those of Pope Bibi Dong!

Yu Xiaogang then confidently turned to Old Jack and said, "I'll handle their enrollment. Don't worry, I have some influence at this academy."

Old Jack knew this man must have some clout, or else the gatekeeper wouldn't have been so easily silenced.

He then handed two small money pouches to Su Ming and Tang San, smiling warmly. "From here on out, you two will have to walk your paths on your own. I hope you study well."

Su Ming peered into the pouch. It seemed to contain Silver Soul Coins—around 10, by the weight. Although the money wasn't much for Su Ming, it was a kind gesture from Grandpa Jack!

After all, Old Jack was just a commoner. Silver Soul Coins had significant purchasing power, and giving this much was no easy feat.

Su Ming nodded solemnly, saying, "Don't worry, Grandpa Jack. I'll study hard, and I'll come visit you during the holidays!"

Tang San also gratefully accepted the coins, nodding slightly. "Thank you, Grandpa Jack."

Su Ming watched as Grandpa Jack's hunched figure slowly walked away, feeling a pang of sadness. Grandpa Jack was like family to him in this world.
