Douluo : Diary System in Douluo Continent

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Bibi Dong's Reflection and Future Goals!

Even Su Ming himself wasn't sure what price he would have to pay to use the resurrection power of his Sharingan. Though the diary said that upgrading and using the Sharingan had no side effects, the resurrection ability of the Rinnegan seemed too powerful to be without some cost—it just didn't feel real.

"Oh well, I'll figure it out later," Su Ming thought. "After all, it'll be a while before my Sharingan evolves into the Rinnegan. Who knows, maybe the diary will reward me with something related to resurrection by then!"

As Su Ming scribbled in his diary, he and Xiao Wu had already arrived at a restaurant, ready to have lunch. Su Ming ordered a large selection of meats and a small amount of vegetables—he was a carnivore at heart. Xiao Wu, on the other hand, ordered a mountain of carrots.

Meanwhile, in the halls of the Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong was deep in thought, pondering over Su Ming's words. Though she didn't want to admit it, he was right.

In the beginning, Qian Xunji had indeed treated her well. But after discovering her relationship with Yu Xiaogang, he had changed completely, even going so far as to threaten to kill Yu Xiaogang before forcibly taking her in the secret chamber.

Upon reflection, Bibi Dong realized that during her growing closeness with Yu Xiaogang, Qian Xunji had been in seclusion. Otherwise, he would've likely nipped her feelings for Yu Xiaogang in the bud. After all, Yu Xiaogang's strength was mediocre, forever stuck below Rank 30.

As Bibi Dong's teacher, it made sense that Qian Xunji wouldn't want her to marry Yu Xiaogang. Or perhaps, as Su Ming speculated, he had other plans for her, raising her as a child bride, only for Yu Xiaogang to swoop in and steal her heart.

Thanks to Su Ming's diary, Bibi Dong had regained some clarity. After reflecting on it, she realized she had also been in the wrong, showing signs of ingratitude. Her expression darkened. Back then, she had truly been a bit of a fool.

In the early days, if the Spirit Hall hadn't taken her in and nurtured her, even with her innate twin spirits, she might have been captured by powerful Spirit Masters and turned into nothing more than a tool for producing talented offspring.

But because the Spirit Hall had raised and trained her, her life had been smooth sailing before she met Yu Xiaogang, without facing any significant hardships. This had led her to naively believe the world was a much kinder place than it truly was.

As she reflected, Bibi Dong realized how absurd it was that she had fallen for Yu Xiaogang. At the time, he had seemed so knowledgeable, so impressive. Yu Xiaogang might have lacked strength, but his theoretical research had intrigued her, making her want to help him.

Looking back now, Bibi Dong realized how laughably foolish she had been. The knowledge Yu Xiaogang had so proudly shared was already recorded in the archives of the Spirit Hall, but her focus had been elsewhere at the time.

After returning from seclusion, Qian Xunji had discovered their relationship and had violently separated them. Yu Xiaogang had even suggested they run away together—leaving the Spirit Hall to either return to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan or roam the world.

Back then, she had been foolish enough to consider agreeing. Thinking about it now, she realized how utterly naïve she had been!

As a Holy Maiden, she hadn't fully understood the vast power of the Spirit Hall. She didn't know how many Titled Douluos were under its command. Yet Yu Xiaogang, a member of one of the "Upper Three Sects," had filled her head with confidence that his family could stand up to the Spirit Hall.

Now, with clearer eyes, Bibi Dong saw how absurdly naive she had been. The Spirit Hall, with its immense resources, could easily crush the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, which only had one Titled Douluo. How had Yu Xiaogang been so confident?

The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan had two Titled Douluos and a master like Ning Fengzhi, allowing them to fight against four enemies with ease. The Clear Sky Clan was even stronger, with multiple Titled Douluos and a 99th-level Douluo, Tang Chen, standing at the peak of power.

She had used so many of the Spirit Hall's resources and hadn't contributed much in return. Yet, she had almost been persuaded to leave it all behind by Yu Xiaogang. In hindsight, she felt ashamed.

As Bibi Dong processed her past, her hatred for the Spirit Hall lessened significantly. Her sole goal after that traumatic incident had been to destroy the Spirit Hall. But now, her thoughts had changed.

Qian Xunji was dead, killed by her own hand. The Spirit Hall itself had never wronged her. In fact, it had done much good for the common people. After all, without its efforts, she—a commoner—would never have been brought into the Spirit Hall's ranks.

The Spirit Hall also played a crucial role in capturing and containing evil Spirit Masters, something neither the empires nor the other sects cared much about. Without the Spirit Hall's efforts, those evil Spirit Masters would run rampant, unchallenged.

With this new understanding, Bibi Dong's heart felt lighter. Her goal was no longer to destroy the Spirit Hall but to make it even stronger. Her ambition now was to unify the entire continent, to genuinely help the common people. However, this would require long-term planning.

She knew that such a grand unification would be bathed in blood, but it was the only way to bring about true peace and reduce the number of wars. Only after unification could the common people have a chance at real happiness.

What Bibi Dong didn't realize was that this moment of clarity had also strengthened her spirit. The evil energy of the Rakshasa God had less of a grip on her now. This internal harmony allowed her to resist its influence more effectively, which is why she felt so much more at peace.
