Douluo Dalu: Reincarnated as Yan, Never Be a Simp Again

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Displaying the Flaming Wings

"Woo~"

A long and loud wolf's howl broke the silence of the night sky.

This wasn't just an ordinary howl; it sounded like a signal calling for the pack.

With that howl, the distant valley began to tremble, and the fallen leaves on the ground were blown into the air by the wind from the swiftly moving wolf pack.

The energy fluctuations in the air became unusually strong.

"Get ready to fight!"

Xie Yue shouted, and the three quickly formed a group, their backs to each other, arranging into a triangular formation as they had trained.

They quickly released their martial spirits and soul rings.

In the blink of an eye, hundreds of Wind Demon Wolves had surrounded them from all sides.

Their eyes were filled with wildness and ferocity, each wolf baring its sharp fangs and claws, as if they wanted to tear the three apart.

Among the pack, a much larger wolf than the others slowly walked out.

This wolf was different from the rest. Its fur was denser and shinier, each step it took seemed steady and powerful.

Its eyes not only held wildness but also a natural sense of authority and dominance.

Those eyes, sharp as blades, stared directly at the three, as if evaluating their strength.

From the powerful energy waves emanating from it, it was clear that this wolf was the leader of the pack, the Wolf King.

Sensing the energy from the Wolf King, Yan quickly judged that it had at least 10,000 years of cultivation.

What was even more terrifying was that there were several other large wolves near the Wolf King, all with close to 10,000 years of cultivation.

At this moment, the air seemed to freeze, with only the low growls of the wolf pack and the nervous breathing of the three companions filling the silence.

They all knew that with their current strength, they had no chance of defeating this pack of Wind Demon Wolves.

Xie Yue and Hu Liena could combine their martial souls to use the Soul Fusion Skill "Charming Demon", which was incredibly powerful. However, the skill had limitations, and it couldn't cover the entire pack of hundreds of wolves.

The Soul Fusion Skill also consumed a lot of soul power, and once it ended, they would be in a weakened state, unable to fight effectively.

Moreover, they had already consumed some soul power in the previous battle with the smaller wolves and hadn't fully recovered yet.

So, in the face of this formidable pack of Wind Demon Wolves, they were at a complete disadvantage.

Yan knew that Bibi Dong valued Hu Liena highly and had sent two elders, Yue Guan and Gui Mei, to secretly protect her.

In a place like the Death Canyon, sending one elder would be sufficient.

Maybe one of them was hidden in a corner of the canyon right now.

However, Yan couldn't sense the presence of these powerful figures yet.

But that was just his guess.

Even if they were here, they wouldn't act unless absolutely necessary.

"Nana, you use your invisibility skill to escape," Xie Yue said quickly.

"Yan, use your flames to create an opening, and we'll break through and leave."

Seeing that the wolves were about to attack, Xie Yue made the decision rapidly.

Hu Liena had previously demonstrated her invisibility skill in front of the two of them, but it was only a simple display and hadn't consumed much soul or mental energy, so she could use it again today.

"Brother, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have provoked them," Hu Liena said, feeling guilty, knowing her recklessness had led to this situation.

"Nana, don't say that. Just get ready," Xie Yue replied.

Suddenly, the wolf pack launched their attack.

With a roar from the Wolf King, dozens of Wind Demon Wolves charged toward the three of them at lightning speed.

The speed was so fast that Hu Liena didn't even have time to use her proud invisibility skill. Xie Yue tightly gripped his Moon Blade, ready to fight, but suddenly, he felt a scorching gale hit him.

He then felt as though something had enveloped him, and his body was instantly lifted into the air.

Hu Liena also screamed, feeling a tremendous force lifting her upward.

It was Yan who had deployed his Flaming Wings.

Those fiery red wings, resembling a phoenix's, stood out brilliantly against the night sky.

Yan held Xie Yue with one arm and Hu Liena with the other as they soared into the sky, shooting straight toward the clouds.

The wind howled in their ears as the ground quickly shrank beneath them.

The sudden ascent left Xie Yue and Hu Liena stunned, their hearts racing as if they might leap out of their chests.

"Yan, how... how can you fly?" Xie Yue stared in disbelief at Yan.

Yan's eyes were firm as he faced the wind without fear. He replied calmly, "I'll explain later. If you're feeling dizzy, just close your eyes."

Yan flapped his wings faster, and they sped across the sky like shooting stars, quickly leaving the area occupied by the Wind Demon Wolves far behind.

The wolf pack howled below, but they could only watch helplessly as the three flew away.

The feeling of escaping danger and regaining freedom filled their hearts with an indescribable joy.

After flying for a while, Yan found a relatively safe spot to land.

The three of them touched down, their feet on solid ground, and all of them sighed in relief.

Hu Liena was still shaken, staring blankly at Yan, as if seeing a stranger.

She never imagined that, in just two months, Yan had undergone such a dramatic change.

"Yan, what exactly is going on with these wings?" Xie Yue asked again, his curiosity completely ignited.

Yan explained, "These are external soul bones. I obtained them unexpectedly when I absorbed the soul ring of the Skyfire Fox."

As he spoke, he casually retracted the Flaming Wings.

Xie Yue and Hu Liena exchanged shocked glances.

External soul bones were extremely rare, and Yan had somehow obtained one.

"You actually got an external soul bone, and it gives you the ability to fly!" Xie Yue exclaimed loudly, his eyes filled with envy.

A soul master with the ability to fly undoubtedly had a huge advantage in battle.

Except for those with bird-type martial souls, most soul masters could only fly after reaching level 70.

With these Flaming Wings, Yan's strength had undoubtedly increased significantly.

Both Xie Yue and Hu Liena realized that the gap between them and Yan seemed to have widened.

Hu Liena, somewhat confused, asked, "Yan, why didn't you tell us you got an external soul bone?"

Her tone carried a hint of displeasure, though it was hard to tell whether it was jealousy or anger. She seemed to blame Yan for not sharing this secret with them earlier.

In the past, if Yan had obtained an external soul bone, he would have been eager to show it off and promise to protect her better.

But this time, Yan had said nothing.
