Chapter 37: Stress Becomes Relief
"Do you know what happened to the red bird?" He asked her rather than internally deliberating it without reason. Phoenix were beings known for their ability to be reborn from the ashes, it would be unlikely but not impossible for them to be alive.
"The lizard destroyed it completely." Gu Yuena replied with certainty. The Dragon God's memories of the battle were vague due to his injuries but he knew that he destroyed the Phoenix God and his divine position.
"I see." Wulin spoke softly, his mind noting the information to look into the bird later. He trusted Gu Yuena but he also wanted to make sure himself, it was part of his more cautious nature that he wouldn't deny in this case.
If the Phoenix God was not dead then it would be extraordinarily dangerous even if they were the two halves of the Dragon God, especially since they were two halves of such an overwhelmingly powerful being.
The Phoenix God rivaled the Dragon God and they were only two halves of that being, they wouldn't be able to fight back for long if the Phoenix God attacked them, especially in their current states.
Even worse, it was almost sure that the Phoenix God would target them due to their connection to the one who killed them. It wouldn't even be surprising if the Phoenix God attacked their planet because they lived on it. At the very least a partnership was impossible between them.
It was an unlikely threat but it was one he would have to consider in the back of his mind at all times. In all likelihood, it would be unnecessary caution but caution is better than a gruesome death caused by ignoring the possibility.
"If the golden lizard received the prideful lizard's madness what did the silver lizard receive?" He asked the beauty in his arms softly. While madness could be taken literally it could also mean his annihilation.
Annihilation was a powerful force, the most destructive power in the entire world, so whatever the silver lizard should reasonably be similar in power, perhaps not offensively since that was impossible but in other ways.
"The silver lizard received the power of construction." Gu Yuena replied, a proud smirk on her tear stained face. By itself, it sounded weak and as though it paled in comparison to her other half but when one thought about it was clear that it wasn't true. Instead, it could be viewed the other way.
'Creation. Allying with her was the right decision.' Wulin thought to himself, a ghost of a smile on his face. He had planned to ally with her however FUG may not agree. However, now she had a very clear benefit that could not be underestimated.
Annihilation was an overwhelmingly powerful force of the universe however it lacked in all areas besides combat. Creation however was powerful in all areas depending on how freely it can be used and, using himself as a baseline, it was quite unrestricted.
Annihilation destroyed things, it was straightforward, domineering, and powerful just like the Golden Dragon King. It wasn't a force that could be controlled easily nor was it one that could be tamed by a gentle touch, it needed to be beaten down to be controlled.
Creation, on the other hand, created things. It was vague, elegant, and soft just as the Silver Dragon King in his arms was. It was a power that could be used freely if she possessed the power to defend herself and could accomplish a great many things.
She could create things from simple natural resources such as metal to things as complex as life, how could that not be powerful? Of course, he wasn't aware of all the specifics but he had a decent clue of how it worked since it was an improved form of Imort's martial soul.
Well, it was actually the reverse. Imort's martial soul was created from the universal power of creation she wielded so it made sense that it would be much more powerful. Imort's martial soul was extraordinarily powerful due to the range of abilities it gave him and yet this was undoubtedly more powerful.
The only possible thing he could think of as a possible weakness would be the wisdom of humanity. For many years the Federation had used credits as their currency and after many attempts to create counterfeit each credit had its own 'code' per se.
If she wanted to make her own credits to use she would need to perfectly replicate these codes and even then it may not work. If the Federation has a log of all credits and their codes then it would not be surprising if it didn't work even if she created her own.
It was a powerful and versatile power however it was different from his own. It needed to be used carefully to ensure there was no mistake and every use must be planned meticulously to assure nothing goes awry.
"You're even more talented than I thought." Wulin spoke quietly without thinking, her ears perking up at his words, a teasing grin forming on her beautiful face befitting a former goddess such as herself.
"Is that a compliment I hear?" She asked playfully, her regal eyes filled with an overwhelming desire to tease. It was an emotion he was beginning to recognize purely because of how often he saw it.
"Yes." Wulin replied with a small nod, a bright and proud smile forming on her face. Her other half wasn't bad with compliments by any means however he gave them rarely, even to her. To him, compliments were something to be given when deserved.
He only gives compliments when something he thinks is truly deserving of it such as their class who he praises fairly periodically. Not to them of course, they would die in his presence, but in front of her.
The only time he complimented her was the night of the first time they met when training together late into the night. It was slightly rude and offhanded but it was still a compliment. It angered her greatly at the time however now, she takes pride in that comment.
'This is nice.' Gu Yuena thought to herself, a wide smile full of sincere happiness on her face.
