Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Plotting Opportunities
The confrontation between Yun Feng and Tang San had taken place in full view of the academy's students and teachers. Naturally, it became the talk of the campus.
Most were aware of Tang San's identity as Yu Xiaogang's disciple. Many had high expectations for the supposed "undefeated theorist" to train an extraordinary student.
But Yun Feng's decisive punch shattered those expectations entirely.
"Is this what the so-called 'Grandmaster' can produce?"
The principal of Nuoding Academy, who had begrudgingly supported Yu Xiaogang's freeloading, was particularly disheartened. Watching Tang San collapse in one hit left him with an overwhelming sense of regret.
"He eats, drinks, and lives here for free—for this?"
Yu Xiaogang, upon arriving at the scene and learning what had happened, was similarly shaken. His faith in Tang San wavered even further.
Deep down, he began to wonder: Could Yun Feng be the one to validate my theories instead?
However, he knew approaching Yun Feng openly wasn't an option—not while Tang San was still under his guidance, and especially not with Tang Hao lurking in the shadows.
Suppressing his inner turmoil, Yu Xiaogang carried the unconscious Tang San away amidst the murmurs of onlookers.
As the students continued discussing the fight, Yun Feng's mind was elsewhere.
He had made an enemy of Tang San—a vengeful figure who wouldn't let things slide. This wasn't something Yun Feng could afford to ignore.
"I need to grow stronger," Yun Feng thought, shifting his focus to the opportunities from Douluo Dalu's original plot.
Tang San's key resources came to mind:
The Man-Faced Demon Spider.
The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
Immortal Herbs.
Dugu Bo's knowledge.
Ah Yin's bloodline and spirit bone.
Sacrifices from Xiao Wu, Da Ming, and Er Ming.
The Sea God and Asura God inheritances.
While some of these were beyond his reach, others—like the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and Ah Yin's spirit bone—were within grasp.
The closest opportunity lay with Ah Yin's remains. As long as Yun Feng could find the right moment—when Tang Hao and Tang San were absent—he could claim the spirit bone and leave undetected.
With this plan in mind, Yun Feng headed to the Spirit Hall branch. Although Ma Xiuno was gone, Yun Feng had built good rapport with the local Spirit Hall enforcers.
He requested a map, ostensibly for study, and quickly found what he was looking for: the mountainous region near Holy Spirit Village where Tang Hao had hidden Ah Yin.
From Yun Feng's knowledge, Ah Yin was concealed behind a massive waterfall in a secluded valley. The location was nearly inaccessible, with sheer cliffs requiring extraordinary skill—or tools like Tang San's Eight Spider Lances—to scale.
"I'll need to prepare," Yun Feng mused, noting the challenges ahead.
Ah Yin's resting place was likely overlooked due to its obscurity, hidden in plain sight. However, Yun Feng couldn't discount the possibility that Tang Hao deliberately chose such a location to avoid constant reminders of his past.
"Either way, Tang Hao benefited the most from all of this. The youngest Titled Douluo? What an honor—despite everything."
---
Returning to his dorm with the map tucked away, Yun Feng began strategizing his next steps. As he approached his door, he noticed Yu Xiaogang waiting for him.
Frowning slightly, Yun Feng remained polite.
"Grandmaster, are you waiting for me?"
Yu Xiaogang hesitated, as though searching for the right words. Finally, a stiff smile appeared on his face.
"Yun Feng, I wanted to talk to you."
Something about Yu Xiaogang's tone made Yun Feng's skin crawl.
"Please, just call me Yun Feng," Yun Feng replied, making it clear he wasn't comfortable with the familiarity.
Yu Xiaogang pretended not to notice the subtle rebuff and blocked Yun Feng's path.
"It's just a title; don't mind it."
Yun Feng sighed inwardly. This guy's persistence is something else.
"All right, Grandmaster. What is it you want to talk about?"
---
Yu Xiaogang's intentions were obvious: he saw potential in Yun Feng and wanted to bring him under his guidance. But Yun Feng wasn't someone easily swayed.
To Yun Feng, Yu Xiaogang represented the pitfalls of theory without practical strength. His so-called "unmatched theories" had done little for Tang San, and Yun Feng doubted they would do much for him either.
More importantly, Yun Feng knew his path would never align with Yu Xiaogang's rigid framework.
"Le
t's see what he has to say," Yun Feng thought, preparing to navigate the conversation carefully.
