Divorced by Husband, Loved by the Billionaire

Chapter 7: chap 7; Blackmail

It had been two weeks since Olivia accepted Dylan's offer. He has been good, very hard-working, and emotionally available. He liked her. Olivia thought but wasn't sure as she now believed men were swindlers. All of them.

"Can I take you out after the session you're having with your mind? I want to ruin it. Otherwise, tell me you were thinking about me." Dylan spoke, coming out of the meeting with Olivia's dad.

"How was it?" Olivia asked, disregarding his request and question. Dylan went closer in an attempt to kiss her, but she disapproved. He sighed and lowered himself in the chair. Disappointment covering his entire face.

"Well, he said go out with me." Olivia shook her head.

"Dinner it is then, 7pm at the Royston's. Steak." With a smile etched on his face, he knew he won, and he knew how to do bang-up jobs. And he'd do whatever it takes to get Olivia, Philip was imbecilic and beyond to have let her go.

"I will leave now, I still have an unresolved business with a client. I will pick you up." His phone dazzled, and he answered the call as he walked through the door.

Allan, his personal assistant and best friend was on the line. "Dylan, what the fuck? I thought no, actually that's not what I think, I remember clearly you told me that Ryker man was out of your life for good. Could you delineate to me what he's doing in your office?"

Dylan listened, too wracked with anger to speak. He hung up and drove off. He knew why that psycho was there, he was after one or two things. "He probably wanted me to marry his daughter because our arrangement still stands or someone has paid him to destroy me." Dylan thought out loud.

Dylan threw his mind back and couldn't think of no one at the moment. But when a message popped on his phone. He knew exactly who to look out for. That stupid man, Philip. "Fuck!" He cussed and punched his wheel hard as he drove, his veins pulsed with ferocity.

"Mr. Dylan, please, let me fade from your mind. Why the fuck can't I help but think about you and your pretty face every single time?"

Suddenly, the weight was lifted off him—the healing she brought, the grace she carried, and the innocence in her eyes. They weren't just superficial qualities; they were the reasons he would give up everything if he had to.

"I hear a kiss can cure that feeling." He texted back to Olivia.

"What do you want, Ryker?" Dylan asked, breathless as he stepped into the office.

Ryker leaned back, flashing that familiar, knowing grin. "Oh, come on, Dylan. We're old friends. Sit down—let's have some coffee and talk. I didn't come to ruin the peace your heart has found."

The cut on his forehead reopened, a thin line of blood trailing down his temple. He didn't flinch. He didn't even seem to notice.

Dylan swallowed. Ryker was dangerous. He had always known that. But now, with someone to live for, fear settled deeper in his bones.

Dylan fisted the table, and Ryker jumped out in pretense. Everyone knew things like those didn't scare him. Nothing scared him. "What do you want?" He said with gritted teeth, the veins on his skin evidently appearing.

Ryker shook his head and leaned into the comfortable chair. His eyes fixed on Dylan as he tore himself apart. In a split second, Dylan grabbed his collar and pulled him closer. Ryker did not flinch, he never does.

"For the last time, Ryker? Don't test my patience. I said, what do you want from me?" Ryker laughed out loud, his expression hard to read.

"That's where you've got my intentions wrong. It's so annoying that all these years you don't know me. Leave my collar."

"Or what?" Dylan challenged as he tightened his Grip.

"Or I will have your sweetheart messed up." He smiled and slowly, Dylan complied.

Ryker laughed even harder while straightening his shirt.

"And so, we can now discuss why I am here. Well, it doesn't really have anything to do with it, but you can be of help in a way,, and since we are good friends…"

"I am not your friend, Ryker. We have nothing in common." He nodded in agreement.

"Of course we do. I know you won't forget that easily." His voice was calm, but there was an unmistakable edge to it. "My daughter has been waiting for you, and she's just as impatient as her father. You know what they say—' like father, like daughter.'"

With that, he slid a document across the table. Dylan's gaze flickered to it before he reluctantly picked it up and flipped it open.

The moment his eyes scanned the contents, his expression darkened.

"You must be out of your damn mind!" Dylan barked, pacing the room in agitation. He turned sharply, driving a finger at the document. "Listen to me—I don't know how much that son of a bitch Philip is paying you to pull this stunt, but that?" His voice was full of fury. "Not a fucking chance."

Dylan's jaw clenched as he motioned towards the door. "Now get the hell out of my office with immediate effect."

Once he reached the door, he gave Dylan a friendly tap on the back and a warm smile. Dylan fumed, he was fucken going to find Philip and he had no time to deliberate.

"You're in deep shit, especially because Olivia is now in the scene." His personal assistant reminded him once more before he stepped out.

Dylan stormed into his office when he arrived at Philip's Holdings. Tracy sat astride him, her hand buried in his hair and her mouth taking him greedily. Once they became aware of his presence, Tracy broke free, her lashes baiting too rapidly.

"Tracy, can you leave us? Go get something to eat, I will catch up with you later." When the door closed behind her, Dylan aggressively moved to Philip.

"Calm down, young boy. Do you really want to go out on a limb for Olivia? Oh, I get it, she's a pretty girl, awesome in bed, and now she's rich. But…" he paused and sat down, gesturing to the chair for Dylan to sit.

"She doesn't know you've bought her, does she? That's what I despised about her, she's so innocent, thinking everyone is as they seem. Anyway, 5 million to keep your little secret. Later, I would need more to shut up about all your secrets." Philip paused and leaned into his chair, a satisfying smile spread on his face.
