Chapter 93
Chapter 93 the Three of Them Stepping Out Like This Would Surely Attract Everyone’s Attention!
“Yao Yao, let’s go buy the matching family outfits,” Lu Qin said, pulling his little one away from the VR experience zone, which she had been reluctant to leave. While the 3D rollercoaster was exciting, buying the family outfits was important too.
They already had two sets of matching family outfits at home, ones that Lu Qin had bought. However, Yao Yao had always been dissatisfied with his clothing choices, thinking his fashion sense was quite average. When it came to picking clothes, Lu Qin usually stuck to two colors: white and blue. Yao Yao often chose her own clothes instead.
Lu Qin would say that as long as the clothes were comfortable, style didn’t matter much. To him, it was more about being good-looking, and he believed the clothes didn’t matter as much as how one carried them. Every time he said that, Yao Yao would roll her eyes, thinking her dad’s taste was hopeless, and that she would have to handle things on her own.
“What floor should we go to?” Asked Shen Muyan, not familiar with the mall.
Lu Qin, however, was very familiar with these things, so he responded, “Second floor for women’s, third floor for kids’ clothes, fourth floor for men’s and dining. We’ll head to the third floor.”
They didn’t take the elevator but instead rode the escalator. Yao Yao held Lu Qin’s left hand and Shen Muyan’s right. The two hands felt different: Lu Qin’s hand was warm and large, while Shen Muyan’s was delicate, smooth, and slightly cool. Yao Yao was very happy, bouncing along with each hand to hold onto.
They arrived at a clothing store on the third floor, where the family-themed outfit section was clearly visible through the glass. The mannequins displayed matching family outfits, and they were immediately caught by the attention of the store attendants.
The staff quickly greeted them warmly.
“How can we assist you today?”
“Sister, we want the matching family outfits!” Yao Yao said, blinking her large eyes and speaking in a soft, sweet voice. The staff were instantly charmed by her cuteness.
The staff immediately led them to the family outfit section and offered them three glasses of lemonade. Since the family had such high visual appeal, anything they wore would look great on them. They just needed to pick what they liked. Lu Qin was the type who was indifferent to style, always saying ‘anything works’ when it came to clothes. He never really cared about colors or designs, just the fit, quality, and price. Style was not his priority.
From entering the store to checking out, they spent no more than ten minutes. Shen Muyan and Yao Yao ignored Lu Qin and chose the clothes together, leaving him in the lounge area. Lu Qin was more than happy to let them handle it. He sat on the couch, sipping lemonade. If they asked him for his opinion, he’d just say, “This one looks good,” or “That one is nice,” with no real helpful insights.
Yao Yao picked out a cute cotton T-shirt with a little bear hat design and shorts. The material was soft and comfortable, with a good fit and a cute, unique style that could look both sweet and cool. Shen Muyan picked out a men’s set and handed it to Lu Qin, and the three of them went into the fitting rooms to try them on.
Lu Qin and Yao Yao had black and yellow outfits, while Shen Muyan wore a beige and yellow combination. The three of them came out and stood side by side in front of the mirror. A refreshing, innocent vibe radiated from them. Passersby who noticed them stopped to stare, marveling at how good-looking they all were.
The store staff couldn’t help but gush over them, their praise genuine. They even thought if they could, they’d replace the celebrity posters with photos of this family. Every set of outfits looked great on them.
The bear-themed outfit Yao Yao chose was so cute that she immediately bought it. Shen Muyan selected two more sets—one with a white suspender dress featuring a cartoon little cow wearing sunglasses, and another in a beachy style, a chiffon dress with blue and green butterflies, perfect for a trip.
After trying on the other two outfits, the mother and daughter stood in front of the mirror, looking ethereal, as if untouched by the world. They were so beautiful, it was like something out of a dream.
Lu Qin set his lemonade down and snapped a few pictures, but his photography skills weren’t great—he just relied on his phone’s camera settings.
“Daddy, can I wear this outfit now?” Yao Yao asked eagerly, not wanting to take off the outfits she loved so much.
Lu Qin shook his head.
“We have to wash them first, and after they dry, you can wear them.”
“Then let’s take some pictures together!” Yao Yao suggested.
“Sure,” Lu Qin agreed, smiling.
Yao Yao grabbed Shen Muyan’s phone and handed it to one of the store attendants.
“Sister, could you please take a few pictures for us?”
The staff were thrilled to help. After unlocking the phone, the attendant took several shots from different angles. Yao Yao kept posing and changing expressions, sometimes pouting, other times doing the peace sign, each movement full of innocence and cuteness.
Shen Muyan just stood there, exuding an effortless elegance. Lu Qin, though handsome, just did the peace sign or a thumbs-up, and as usual, he became the background.
After the photos were taken, Lu Qin was about to go to the counter to pay, but Shen Muyan had already gone ahead. The total for the three outfits came to over four thousand, which was expensive for most people, but for Shen Muyan, who never looked at price tags when shopping, this was a typical display of wealth.
She paid through the QR code, and Lu Qin waited for the staff to pack the clothes while Shen Muyan went to find Yao Yao. The little one was absorbed in looking at the pictures on Shen Muyan’s phone. Suddenly, Shen Muyan seemed to recall something, and her expression subtly changed. She walked over quickly, but still, it was a moment too late.
Yao Yao was swiping through the photos, and after the ones from the fitting room, the next ones were of Lu Qin and Yao Yao together at the night market stall. There were pictures of Lu Qin focused on cooking fried rice, with Yao Yao helping to pack the food. Then there was one of Yao Yao wiping Lu Qin’s sweat off, the scene full of warmth and happiness.
Shen Muyan reached over and took the phone back, pressing the screen off, and quietly put it in her pocket. Yao Yao raised her head, a playful expression on her face as if to say, “Oh, I know what’s going on.”
Shen Muyan glanced at her, her expression asking, “What do you know?”
At that moment, Lu Qin arrived with the large shopping bags.
“Let’s go,” he said.
“Daddy, let me help you with one of those bags!” Yao Yao offered, not wanting him to get tired.
“No need, Yao Yao, these aren’t heavy,” Lu Qin replied.
Although the clothes weren’t heavy, the bags were large, and Yao Yao would likely drag them on the ground. They left the store and took the escalator down, the three of them walking out together, a perfect family.
