chapter 12
12 – Swords and Sorcery
How can I gain combat experience without going through combat?
It was a contradiction of words, but I did not stop worrying as I taught my past students.
Practical experience can only be gained through actual combat. It was natural.
However, in actual combat, it is a risky act that could result in loss of life.
Then, how can you gain practical experience while ensuring safety?
If you think of something that can be easily recalled right away, there was sparring.
Dalyeon is conducted purely to gauge one’s skills without aiming for each other’s lives.
However, there was little to be gained from sparring, in which each other was aware of each other’s safety and had mercy in their hands, compared to actual battles where lives were exchanged.
How can I get experience that is comparable to real battle through sparring?
I kept thinking about it.
And after thinking about it, I came up with an answer.
The answer is sparring, risking one’s life.
If anyone had heard it, they would have said it was crazy, but I thought it could be.
It was a conclusion I could draw at my age.
If I had my skills, sparring at the risk of my life would not be impossible.
If you get hurt in sparring, I just hit you and treat you.
After the treatment was over, I could go through sparring again.
If you repeat it infinitely, you will be able to have an experience that is comparable to a beta that rolled countless times on the battlefield.
This training has already been proven by four disciples.
I am giving this excellent training method directly, but the attitude of the students is not very good.
“What nonsense are you talking about?”
Zeke, who has dark black hair, said, glancing at me with black eyes.
What are you complaining about?
“What makes no sense?”
Zeek said angrily, as if he was asking because he really didn’t know.
“If a teacher who usually sleeps only drags the students out in a week and says, ‘Let’s fight each other,’ is this what you mean?”
“To be precise, you must fight with the determination to kill.”
I couldn’t just fight.
We had to fight with the intention of killing each other. Because that’s what training is for.
“What nonsense is that? I will not take this class.”
I was ashamed to give up the class without tasting the essence of my secret training.
However, it is also my duty to guide ignorant students to the right path.
I said.
“Have you forgotten the promise you made with the Zeke Decaron family?”
“What, what?”
I continued my words by mentioning the promise I made the night before before the sparring.
“Didn’t you say you would change your cheeky attitude? You don’t think that you’re good enough to be drunk by Sensei right now, right?”
“That… ….”
Zeke was speechless. I gave him the final blow.
“Can you accept that these actions and family honor are nothing to you?”
In the end, Zeke raised the white flag at my words.
“No, sorry for being rude.”
I could see blood flowing from my clenched fists, how much I didn’t want to talk about it.
Okay or not, I continued.
“Well, that’s good. I must be responsible for telling me to fight without explanation. All focus on me.”
After confirming that the students’ eyes were focused on me, I continued my speech.
“What I learn in Arsene is two major types of swords and magic. If you look closely, there are probably more things like spears, bows, and alchemy.”
‘I’m listening carefully.’
The students were paying attention to me, wondering what I was going to say.
I continued talking.
“What do you think these things are used for? Trisha, can you tell me?”
Trisha pondered over my question.
“Uh, um…… To enter the Magic Tower?”
“That is not a wrong answer either. But that’s not the answer I want. If any students have a different answer, raise her hand and say it.”
At my words, Veronica raised her hand and said.
“To get ahead.”
It is not all wrong to enter the Mage Tower or to succeed in life. But it wasn’t the answer I was looking for.
“That wasn’t wrong either. But that’s not the answer I want.”
“Hey Mister, don’t go round and round, just tell the answer, don’t make me curious.”
The sniffer said.
Aren’t there any students in this class who can respect the teacher? I thought so, but I continued talking.
“Good. It looks like there are no more students to answer, so let me tell you.”
There is no reason to learn magic and swords.
To kill.
What do you think the role of a sword is?
Will you cut meat at the butcher shop with the sword skills you learned here? No. It’s not a sword I learned to do.
Learn to kill black people.
Magic was no different from a sword.
Swords that cut and stab, and magic that burns, freezes, and shreds.
“Swords and magic are learned to kill people.”
Even if it’s not necessarily a person, in the end, swords and magic are what you learn to kill.
“In order to kill, you cannot avoid fighting with the opponent you will kill. The fight soon becomes a real battle. I came out today to teach you the real battle.”
After I finished speaking, Zeke said.
“Are you saying that we should kill each other right now?”
“Yes.”
“Are you crazy?”
It deserves to be called crazy.
Killing each other, no one will want to participate in the training.
But I have been preparing a way to make this crazy training run.
“If you get hurt, don’t worry. As long as you don’t die, you can heal any wound.”
“You say that?”
I had no intention of persuading the students just to fight because I would only treat them.
“Does Zeke think that the training I am going to do now is ridiculous?”
“Yes.”
“Accept it.”
“Yes?”
“I told you to accept it. After all, I am doing this because you are weak.”
“How far-fetched is that… ….”
Zeke cut off his words and continued.
“I will say it again. You are weak They are in the failing class because they are weak.”
Weak. I don’t know about Zeke and Gilbert, but the other three were definitely weak.
“You can think the training I am going to do is crazy. However, in order to become stronger, there is nothing like actual combat. Let me be proud.”
“How can you believe that!”
Zeke, who thought that such an eccentric training would never help, objected, but I had no choice but to keep my mouth shut.
“I have created 4 masters with this training method. I swear on Mana that I will prove that these words are not false.”
Mana’s Oath If she tells a lie, her magic power will run out of control and she will die.
Before that oath, I made sure that there was no student who did not believe my words.
“So, then, if we just follow the teacher’s words, can we become masters too?”
Trisha was asking if she could become a master too, if only she would follow me.
‘You are full of ambition.’
Overwhelming ambition It was a good attitude to see.
“I can’t guarantee that I can become a master. But I can promise you something that will make you strong enough to make you realize that you were nothing right now.”
My efforts to convince the students ended here.
Now the choice was theirs.
The students were silent.
Not a single person denied what I said.
I’m finally ready to accept my training.
I looked at the students and continued.
“Seeing that there are no complaints, everyone will understand that it means accepting my training. Anyone who wants to fall out can fall out. I have no intention of teaching students who do not intend to take my class.”
No one left.
All the students were ready.
“Good. I know that everyone accepted my class. Then, I will start forming a team from now on.”
Wars are only achieved when they are on equal footing.
If the balance is out of balance and one side is too strong, the fight will end in vain.
There was nothing to be learned from such a fight.
“Zeke, Tricia, and Veronica are one team, Gilbert and Sniffer are one team.”
From what I’ve seen so far, Zeke and Gilbert are the strongest in the failed class.
Based on those two criteria, I divided the team.
I attached Trisha and Veronica, who are wizards, to Zeke, who is relatively weaker than Gilbert, and gave Gilbert a sniffer that uses a bow as the main weapon.
I can’t say it’s a perfect balance, but it wasn’t a balance where either side would lose in vain.
“Let’s start.”
“Do you really?”
Sick said, still disapproving.
‘I’m not saying I can’t.’
“If you don’t want to do it, you can skip it.”
“No. I’ll do it.”
All the students in the class of failing students stood in their assigned seats.
I confirmed that and said it loudly so that all the students could hear.
“It’s okay to get hurt. I promise to take responsibility and treat you.”
After confirming that all the students were ready, I said.
“Then start!”
That’s how the bloody bloody battle between the failed students class began.
