Chapter 250: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Premieres! (12)

"Seeing your "Who are you?" expression, let me introduce myself. I'm the meddlesome Speedwagon. Worried about Mr. Joestar, I followed him all the way from the slums of London. Mr. Joestar, I really like you—you're a hopeless do-gooder, so let me tell you something."

"I was born and raised in that dark district and have seen my fair share of villains. I can tell a person's nature just by their scent. And this guy reeks—a stench fouler than vomit constantly emanates from him."

As he spoke, Speedwagon kicked over the candelabrum beside Dio and roared:

"I've never seen anyone as evil as this! A bad environment turned him into a villain? Nonsense! His evil is inborn!"

With that, Speedwagon pulled a scrawny man from behind him and declared:

"Surely you remember this face!"

Seeing the frail man before him, Dio's eyes widened in shock.

Jonathan, however, remained calm as he spoke:

"This man has already testified—he sold you poison."

Realizing the situation had completely turned against him, Dio gritted his teeth. At that moment, the doors in the distance swung open, and Lord Joestar stepped out alongside a group of policemen, speaking with measured authority:

"I heard everything you said… What a pity. I poured the same love and expectations into you as I would my own son."

"Father, you need to rest," Jonathan gently reminded him.

With a resigned sigh, Lord Joestar nodded and said, "You're right… I understand. I don't want to see my own son make an arrest. JoJo, I'll leave the rest to you."

"I understand," Jonathan replied, turning to face Dio.

Dio, as if resigning himself to fate, slowly stood up and raised his voice.

"It seems this is the end for me. JoJo, I want you to be the one to put the handcuffs on me—out of respect for the seven years we've spent together."

"I understand."

"JoJo, the abilities of humans truly have their limits. The one thing I've learned in my short life is that the more people rely on schemes, the more likely those schemes will fail due to unforeseen circumstances. To transcend those limits, one must become something beyond human."

"What do you mean? What are you talking about?"

Jonathan looked at Dio in confusion, but in that instant, Dio suddenly pulled a dagger and the Stone Mask from his coat, his voice ringing out sharply:

"I reject my humanity, JoJo! I will surpass mankind!"

"The Stone Mask?! How do you have that—"

"Danger!"

The officers standing by saw the imminent threat and immediately shouted:

"Fire! Shoot him dead!"

But Dio, consumed by madness, swung the dagger with all his might.

"JoJo, let your blood be the key!"

As the dagger came down, what the onlookers saw next was not Jonathan struck down—but Lord Joestar, stepping in to shield his son from the fatal blow.

"Father!"

"Hahahaha! HAHAHAHAHA!"

While everyone else was frozen in shock, Dio erupted into laughter, pressing the bloodstained Stone Mask onto his face.

A flash of eerie light filled the room, and at the same time, the officers finally opened fire, riddling Dio with bullets and sending him crashing out the window.

As everyone breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of Dio's lifeless body, Jonathan knelt beside his father. Struck in a vital spot, Lord Joestar could only whisper his final words before collapsing in his son's arms.

However, while the characters in the movie might have breathed a sigh of relief, the audience watching outside the screen could not relax at all.

After all, they knew the story. They knew exactly what the Stone Mask Dio had put on was truly capable of.

"Dio… Where is Dio's body?"

The moment Speedwagon spoke, it was as if a string had snapped. An indescribable dread spread through the entire hall.

Then, like a demon crawling up from the depths of hell, Dio suddenly reappeared. In an instant, he slaughtered a policeman who had approached the window, then slowly stepped back into the room.

...

Inside various movie theaters:

"Oh my God… Dio really used the Stone Mask to turn into a vampire!"

"It's over! It's midnight—there's no sun! Now that he's a vampire, he's practically invincible!"

"Is there… is there any way to defeat him?"

"No way! He's an immortal monster now! Ordinary people have no chance against him!"

"Is there really no hope?"

"…"

The audience's tension was palpable.

As Dio displayed his vampiric abilities and prepared for an even larger massacre, an overwhelming fear settled over everyone watching.

With his false human mask stripped away, what stood before them now was a being utterly different from humanity—one whose sheer power was completely beyond mortal comprehension.

Everyone had completely discarded their old impressions of vampires. Instead, they were now confronted with the terrifying reality—if such a creature were to turn against humanity, the consequences would be beyond imagination.

...

At the same time, soldiers of the Southern Border Defense Force found themselves in shock.

Though they had anticipated this outcome, witnessing Dio's transformation and the sheer power of a vampire firsthand sent a chill down their spines.

Even for these battle-hardened warriors, who had spent years fighting against magical beasts, the thought of facing an almost indestructible creature with superhuman strength left them feeling helpless.

By this point, most of the soldiers had even forgotten that Dio's actor was their own superior officer, Captain Brando. They were too engrossed in the sheer intensity of the unfolding scene.

"This is terrifying. I was already stunned when I saw those 'guns' in the movie, but I never expected Dio to survive such an onslaught completely unscathed. That's just too frightening."

"Yeah. Vampires naturally have bodies far superior to humans. And with their extreme regenerative abilities, their bodies lack the usual biological limiters. This means that even a newly turned vampire can fight on par with a professionally trained Second-Class Swordsman. That alone is horrifying."

"And that's not all. If an ordinary swordsman were to face a vampire one-on-one, without a decisive way to kill it, the vampire would always win. Even if you cut off its head, there's a chance it would just regenerate instantly."

"That doesn't even take into account their terrifying reproduction speed. A vampire only needs to inject its blood into a human to turn them. While weaker vampires produce lesser thralls or even mindless ghouls, their sheer numbers could rival an undead army."

"It's terrifying to imagine what would happen if a single vampire started a large-scale infestation within our empire. How would we even begin to contain such a crisis?"

"Exactly. If the source isn't destroyed, we might never be able to stop the spread of this nightmare."

"…"

One by one, the soldiers voiced their thoughts, their fear of the vampires in the movie becoming increasingly real.
