Chapter 754 - Slapping Faces

Chapter 754 - Slapping Faces

After spending the past few days together, Liu Xing had developed unconditional trust in Liu Wuxie. He had witnessed Liu Wuxie detect the presence of an evil spirit, awaken the white tiger’s bloodline, defeat Liu Po, and overcome opponents like Liu Sheng.

All these feats indicated that Liu Wuxie's talent was far from ordinary. Not to mention, Liu Wuxie had even managed to treat their grandfather and his father.

Liu Xing's words caused an uproar in the surroundings, and everyone was stunned.

"Has he been influenced by Liu Wuxie and gone mad? How can someone read a million books in four days?" Some disciples in the Nascent Transformation Realm commented with mockery on their faces.

"If he has really managed to read all the books in the pavilion, I'll kneel and kowtow to him!" Liu Cheng stepped forward with blazing hatred for Liu Wuxie.

Murmurs of disbelief began to spread like wildfire in the surroundings.

"Liu Wuxie, can you come up with a bigger lie? If not, stop resisting and come with us!" Liu Yan said. He naturally didn't believe what Liu Xing said.

"Who says it's a lie?" Liu Wuxie glared with murderous intent. He had been putting up with it for the past few days and was only met with mockery and scorn.

His words sent another uproar among the crowd. This was the same as Liu Wuxie admitting that he had read through all the books in the pavilion.

"Wuxie, did you read all the books?" Liu Dayue stepped forward to verify.

"That's right," Liu Wuxie nodded. Since things had reached this point, he no longer needed to act with a low profile. He didn't want to shock everyone, but they insisted on letting him slap their faces. He knew these people were relentless and wouldn't give up unless he taught them a lesson.

"Everyone, hear that? Liu Wuxie has read all the books. What else do you all have to say?" Liu Dayue looked around before his gaze stopped on Liu Yan.

"What a joke! Just because he says so doesn’t make it true. What proof do you have?" one disciple sneered, voicing the doubt shared by the crowd. No one believed Liu Wuxie’s claim and even the neutral faction’s disciples regarded him with disapproving gazes. To them, his words reeked of arrogance they had never encountered before.

"What arrogance! I suggest having him expelled! How can we tolerate someone so shameless in the clan!" More people joined in to condemn Liu Wuxie.

Liu Yan sneered as the situation turned in his favor, and no one would believe what Liu Wuxie said.

"Liu Wuxie, since you claim to have read everything, I remember there's a book recording a detoxification pill on the fifth floor. Can you tell me which book it is?" asked a disciple in the eighth level of the Nascent Transformation Realm. The best way to verify if Liu Wuxie had read through all the books was to question him.

Everyone focused only on mocking Liu Wuxie, and no one stepped forward to verify whether his statements were true.

"Sixth shelf on the fifth floor, and the seventh book from the left. The book is called Cloud Pill Record, created by the fifth generation patriarch. The content you seek is on the eighth line of page seven," Liu Wuxie said without hesitation. What he said could be proven by taking a look.

"Go and retrieve the book!" Many disciples rushed into the pavilion, heading straight for the fifth floor.

They followed Liu Wuxie's instructions and found the book exactly where he said it was. When the book was brought out, the disciple who brought the book out had a marvelous expression.

When the book was flipped to the specified page and line, the content matched Liu Wuxie's words exactly. Not only did the disciples verify it, but Liu Dayue and Liu Yan also verified it personally.

"Hahaha! The content is exactly as Wuxie stated!" Liu Dayue let out a hearty laughter.

The person who asked the question clasped his hands together in acknowledgment toward Liu Wuxie, confirming that Liu Wuxie had indeed read the books. Most disciples could only recall the general contents of a book after visiting the Book Collection Pavilion, but Liu Wuxie went beyond that. He could pinpoint the exact location, page, and even the author’s name.

"This must've been planned! I don't believe it!" Liu Cheng argued, unwilling to believe it.

"That's right, I don't believe it either!"

"Me too!" More people voiced their concerns with disbelief. How could someone possibly remember something so precisely unless it had been memorized beforehand?

"Liu Wuxie, what's the first book on the ninth shelf of the sixth floor?" a disciple from Liu Xiaotian's faction challenged.

"Senior Liu Yun's insights," Liu Wuxie said.

Disciples rushed into the pavilion again and soon found the book, waving it through the window to prove that Liu Wuxie was spot on again.

"Would you like me to recite the content to you?" Liu Wuxie smiled sarcastically at the man who asked. When he began to recite the content, the disciple with the book in the pavilion was dumbfounded as they matched word for word.

The disciples who had mocked Liu Wuxie earlier began to look uneasy. The books in question were indeed stored in the Book Collection Pavilion, making it impossible for Liu Wuxie to have read them in advance. Furthermore, the specific book referenced was located on the sixth floor, a restricted area inaccessible to most. Considering Liu Wuxie had only recently joined the Liu Clan, the idea that he could have prepared ahead of time seemed implausible.

If the first time was a coincidence, what about the second? Not only could Liu Wuxie remember where the books were placed, but he could even recite the content word for word.

Everyone had doubts, wanting to understand what had just happened. But the majority were still in disbelief. They refused to believe that an ordinary brain could contain over a million books.

"Liu Wuxie, I have a question for you. Since you've read all the books, do you know how to treat bloating discomfort?" a deacon asked with a sallow complexion. It was a form of rare illness where the abdomen would bloat with discomfort.

"It's Deacon Liu Yu, and the illness has plagued him for decades," whispered the other disciples.

Over a million books collected over the centuries were in the Book Collection Pavilion. No one knew if there was a cure, but they thought Liu Wuxie should know the answer since he claimed to have read every book.

Some books, passed down for thousands of years, lay neglected in the corners of the pavilion. They contained remedies for rare ailments—knowledge that few disciples found worth reading, as it wasn’t widely sought after.

"May I ask if you suffered a wound to your abdomen in your youth?" Liu Wuxie asked, clasping his hands together. He noticed Liu Yu wasn't among the people who had mocked him earlier.

"That's right," Liu Yu nodded, wondering if Liu Wuxie knew the cure for his condition.

"A tear must've formed at the site of the wound, trapping air in it that causes bloating. You can look at the book on the fourth shelf on the eighth floor, page fifty of the sixth book on the left," Liu Wuxie said after a brief pondering. He could've directly told Liu Yu the cure, but he guided Liu Yu to the answer instead.

Liu Yu vanished and went to the eighth floor in less than two breaths before he returned to the ground. Many elders and deacons leaned over as Liu Yu flipped through the books, and they soon reached page fifty.

"It's true! There's really a cure!" Liu Yu clutched the book in joy. He had searched half of the Book Collection Pavilion in recent years and failed to find a cure, but Liu Wuxie had pointed out the exact book for him.

"To think such a book existed!" There were over a million books, and no one could know which book was useful if they hadn't read them all.

"Liu Wuxie, I owe you a great debt. Thank you!" Liu Yu quickly memorized the book's content and sent it back before he left.

The crowd went from skepticism to astonishment.

"Liu Wuxie, how can I mend a crack in a spiritual talisman?" Another disciple in the Nascent Transformation Realm asked. The spiritual talisman he drew would crack each time.

"The ninth shelf on the fourth floor, the fifth book," Liu Wuxie said without hesitation, pointing them directly to the source to read it themselves.

"Young master, why do I feel pain each time I cultivate?" More people stepped forward to ask their questions.

"The tenth shelf on the seventh floor, the third book. You will find the answer you need there," Liu Wuxie answered calmly.

In just fifteen minutes, Liu Wuxie answered dozens of questions, directing them to the answer they wanted. Even if the solutions weren't guaranteed, the fact that Liu Wuxie could pinpoint the book they needed was enough to impress everyone.

"How could this be?" Liu Yan muttered. Even a fool could tell that Liu Wuxie had indeed memorized all the books in the Book Collection Pavilion.

Liu Dazhi and Liu Dayue exchanged looks, their eyes filled with shock. They realized they had underestimated Liu Wuxie's talent.

Those who had mocked Liu Wuxie earlier began to retreat with unease. In their eyes, Liu Wuxie was no longer a person but a deity. After all, only a deity could accomplish such a feat.

As Liu Xing stood behind Liu Wuxie, he lifted his head with pride, his chest swelling at the scene unfolding before him.

"Any more questions?" Liu Wuxie asked, sweeping his gaze at the disciples who had mocked him earlier, but they didn't dare to meet his eyes.

The surrounding silence was heavy, the air thick with discomfort. Those who had scorned Liu Wuxie now felt the sting of humiliation, none more so than Liu Yan, who lowered his head, gritting his teeth in frustration.

"Since there's no objection, it's time for certain people to honor their promises," Liu Wuxie said with an outburst of murderous intent directed at Liu Cheng and Liu Yan.

Facing Liu Wuxie's menacing gaze, Liu Cheng flinched, and the Tenth Elder left quietly after a glance.

"Kneel!" Liu Wuxie performed a finger tap and unleashed a cold ray when he noticed Liu Cheng was trying to escape.

With a loud crack, the icy ray shattered Liu Cheng’s kneecaps, forcing him to drop to his knees in agony. After all, he had personally given the word that he would kneel if Liu Wuxie had read all the books in the Book Collection Pavilion.
