Chapter 47: Chapter 47 - Alice and Fate
Demonification, it was a process that took time. It wasn't until these Once Human reached Phase 2 that they transformed into True Demons. The only ones known to have done that were SOLDIER's FIRST CLASS. Angeal, Genesis and Zack.
It took a little adjustment after becoming a Demi-Demon. It took Cloud months, and even now he wasn't sure he had fully adjusted. Probably because of the memories from Jenova that constantly reminded him of reality and morality as a human.
Unlike him, there were a few humans from the new world who had not only adjusted to the fact that they had become Demon, they were even flourishing.
"You want to create a Merchant Caravan?" Cloud observed the two people standing in front of him. He was familiar with Yuriko Takagi. Arthur had taken a liking to her, and she kept visiting him at times.
He had seen her plenty of times, leaving disheveled in Arthur's bedroom and the man beside her was her husband, who adapted ways of Demons faster than he had ever seen in humans. Able to present his wife as a gift to superiors for future favour.
'Someone who is used to politics,' Cloud stared at Yuriko's Husband, a tall, muscular, and intimidating man with jet black hair, fiery eyebrows, and fierce orange eyes that has the gaze of a predatory animal, Souichiro Takagi. It was the most troublesome type of person he had to deal with. Especially since he couldn't care less for the politics.
"Yes," Souichiro Takagi nodded, narrowing his eyes, "We understand there are conflict zones and the chaos of the war would make it hard for any Caravan to travel safely. Ninja from different villages might attack the caravan, either to pillage goods or to use it for tactical advantage. Plus, the war would disrupt the usual trade routes and markets, leading to major risks and potential losses. That's why we would like a strong guard for the Caravan too."
"Is it necessary?"
"Yes, Your Highness. We have achieved what we can. It is a miracle that we have achieved this much. All because of Your Leadership and His Majesty's boundless power that can even create land out of this air," Yuriko spoke in a calm, collected voice. It sounded like flattery, but Yuriko was saying the truth.
'It's not my leadership,' Cloud wanted to argue. He had plenty of help from Arthur, who was a natural ruler, and every time Arthur would do something he would be able to tap into an experience inside the memories of First Class Soldiers in Jenova's cells and understand it more deeply. He was growing as a Leader, 'I still have a lot to learn.'
He leaned back on the chair, crossing his arm and legs, narrowing his blue eyes, "Your point?"
"We can't create people. We have recruited nearby villages, going any further would be harmful. We would expose ourself. Instead of leaving on our own, we should create a Caravan that spreads the rumours of our Village. A paradise in war-torn land. The Caravan could bring people who wish to live in a place such as this," Yuriko suggested.
"The villages that have been abandoned could be rebuilt to make guest houses where anyone can live as long as they wish. People who come in search of this village could use the villages to rest, and then move from village to village to find us," Souichiro Takagi suggested the next part of their plan.
"A route," Cloud thought at the point they were making. Rebuilding the villages was the easy part, so was stocking them for people, "We lack combat personnels in this matter. We can't hire Mercenaries, there is no trusting them. Especially with us being not humans."
"I, myself, have become High-Rank Apprentice," Souichiro accounted, clenching his fist with the power he had, exposing his chakra and aura.
Cloud looked up with little interest, "In this world, that is the same as a Chunin. They fall somewhere in the Lower Middle Combat Powers of a Village. Any group you encounter would have a Jonin, especially in time of War. Those are equal to our Vanguards. For maximum and minimum safety, you need a Veteran Rank Demon."
"Currently, I am the only Veteran Rank Demon here. No, there is Tsunade, but she is busy with an important research. I doubt you want her to stop teaching your daughter? And even if she is did stop teaching...she wouldn't agree to leave. She is the face for the Villagers. Anyway, she can't be moved," Cloud closed his eyes, brooding. He tapped his finger on his biceps, thinking.
"We agree," Yuriko nodded, "We have many Genin Level Fighters. The Ninja aren't ready, they are in the middle of the training. That is why, please allow my Husband the gift of Demon Creation."
"Demon Creation?" Cloud turned his eyes towards Souichiro, 'That is what they have been planning all along.'
"We heard how quick it was for Miss Kyoko, who knew what she wanted. My husband has his own Convictions that I fell in love with. If there is anyone who knows what he wants, it's him. Please allow him the chance," Yuriko bowed her head, along with Souichiro, who remained silent.
"This will hurt," Cloud warned them. He raised his palm, a red drop of blood formed above his palm. It divided into two, entering Yuriko and Souichiro's bodies. The two of them convulsed, falling to their knees. The blood was absorbing all their aura like a hungry beast, their insides felt like they were being peeled from the inside, "Aghhh!"
Cloud controlled Jenova's blood, sealing it inside their body. The two of them could finally breathe again, "Careful. It would take time. I heard from Eve there was someone else who tried this before on warriors who fought to protect the world."
"Even then, it took them months to achieve the awakening. Then again, that world didn't have an aura, and they had to wait for accumulation. Nor did they have a Demon personally feeding the carriers Aura. In your cases, it would still take a month or two. Till then prepare for Caravan."
"Thank you, Your Highness," Yuriko breathed out, getting up with the help of her husband, "If you don't mind. We would like to suggest someone else for the Caravan guard, she has potential."
"Who?"
"Alice."

"Did they leave," Arthur opened the door to the attached bathroom, they had to build one because of how much extracurricular activities took place in this room.
"You didn't have to hide," Cloud's eyes followed Arthur, who breathed out in relief, "Isn't this supposed to be normal for a Demon?"
"Nuances, brother," Arthur scratched his head, "Usually, it only happens when the superior is related. You are the superior here, technically I am living off your and Father's authority. It would be frowned upon if I am to accept the offer, which I already did, and if I face him...it's just strange."
"It's fine. You should be careful around her. All she is doing is using you to collect Aura for her husband," Cloud warned him.
"That's not true. Well, not completely true," Arthur scratched his head, "there is pure lust too."
"And that makes it better?" Cloud raised his eyebrow.
"For Demons it does. You never feed for the sake of feeding. You don't know how good it feels," Arthur shrugged.
'Feeding for the sake of feeding,' Cloud tightened the grip of his fingers on his forearm. He did have that moment when he first met Saeko. His heart started racing when he remembered that.
"Anyway, what did they ask?"
"To create a Caravan. To bring people into this Village. Likely, they want to create a trade route, which they could later monetize and earn money or resources. Their loyalty towards their Nation, Japan and their world is strong. They want to recreate it using this world's resources or earning enough to buy resources from Camelot."
"Makes sense. I have a feeling that Father wants the same thing. For them to gather as much resources as they can so they can go back and recreate a society in that world," Arthur guessed.
"What makes you think that?" this was Cloud's first time hearing that view.
"Because Saint Aransae is in that world, clearing that world of all the destructive aura caused by the Birth of Zombies and world moving towards Phase 1. They want to make that world livable again. Once that is done, it would need someone to rebuild it, that means the people. They can put 100s of millions people back as they were..."
"It will be chaos," Cloud muttered, "after much sacrifice they would recreate a society."
"To stop that sacrifice, they need leaders. I have no doubt there are others talented ones in that 100s of million batch which are being currently trained as leaders in different locations," Arthur finished his thought.
"Oh," Cloud closed his eyes, thinking, "Right, she also suggested I train Alice."
"The woman you have been avoiding because she was your wife while you were undercover and you don't want Tifa to misunderstand?"
Cloud opened his eyes, shooting a glare at Arthur, "Yeah. That one."
"If they are suggesting her, they must know something. If she has potential, then you should talk to her," Arthur stood up, "You know what? I'll call her."
"Hm," Cloud straightened his back, putting his hands down. He was hesitating, "No..."
Arthur looked back, having opened the door, when he noticed someone from the corner of his eyes. His eyes fell on the woman with brown hair, styled in a curly bob. She had bright blue eyes, "Alice?"
"Yes. Your Highness."
"Oh," Arthur's lips widened into a mischievous grin. He opened the door for her, "please come inside."
"Thank you," Alice bowed her head, entering the room with soft steps. Arthur stepped behind her, "I am taking my leave. Make sure to hear her out, ok?"
He was already closing the door when he said that. Alice was taken aback by that and confusedly looked at the closed door. She turned towards Cloud, who was sitting by the table, and walked forward, "Your Highness, I hope you have been well."
"Yeah," Cloud put his hand back down, closing his eyes. The mood couldn't be anymore awkward than it was right now. He opened his eyes, "How have to you been?"
"Wonderful," Alice stressed the word, not saying anything more on the topic.
"Can I ask why you are here?" Cloud felt the urge to massage his temple, "If it's about our fake marriage, I would request you to not mention it."
"It's this," Alice raised her hand, and along with the gesture the pen on the table rose in the air.
It made Cloud stop thinking and observe the phenomenon, 'Telekinesis...'
"When did you come into contact with T-Virus?"
"I was looking into Umbrella Organisation after that incident. I made a mistake and got captured along with Matt, the officer you met? We were experimented on. Sir Aransae came at the right time and saved us...but..."
'Then those Cells Aransae gave me...came from her,' Cloud apologised, "Sorry..."
"It's not your fault. According to Sir Aransae, it was my Fate. It would bound to happen. He was there to make it least painful possible," Alice looked away from him. She looked back up, "I was granted Supernatural Powers, but from what I understand our world is too weak. Despite awakening, I have barely reached the Peak of Initiate Level and in the last few months, I have managed to become an Apprentice."
"Chunin Rank," Cloud scanned her, thinking, 'Heaven's Mind. Can you scan her?'
[Scanning Alice...]
[Name: Alice Abernathy]
[Limit: Phase One]
[Rank: Peak Apprentice]
[Existence: First Enhanced]
Enhanced Intellect, Enhanced Strength, Enhanced Speed, Enhanced Agility, Enhanced Endurance, Enhanced Stamina, Regenerative Immortality, Limited Telekinesis.
[Fate: First Enhanced (A Mutant formed From T-Virus), A Thousand Clones (She carries the Fate of being Cloned)]
'Not only is she a Chunin, she is at the peak. In this world, it takes years of hard work and training to reach the Peak. Is this because she is a Demon? Or because she is worthy enough to have an Existence,' Cloud thought deeply, 'Right...'
He rose to his feet, "come with me."
"Where to?"
"Just follow."
.

Senju Household,
Cloud had knocked on the door of the household and was greeted by the girl with pink hair, "Your Highness," she opened the door without batting an eye, marching back to the couch with medical books and her notes on the table and couch itself. She went back to work, not asking anything, "She's in the lab."
"Over this way," Cloud led Alice around the living room, there was a door opposite to kitchen. He opened the door, which revealed an elevator for him to take. Alice followed him, glancing towards him, trying not to let uncomfortable awkwardness get to her. The elevator stopped and outside lay the corridor leading to a large lab.
There were rows of shelf filled with vials of liquids in different colours, tubes on the side of the shelf containing blood samples, small bags of salt, a few Materia Stones and the walls were filled with other mechanical instruments to conduct research, but the research room was empty. There were a couple of doors in the back, and Cloud led Alice through the furthest one, which turned out to be a smaller, more private lab.
"Tsunade," Cloud called out, catching the attention of the blond-haired woman wearing a white haori over a grey robe and blue pants. The woman looked up from the microscope she was using, surprising even Cloud who hadn't seen her in a while.
She looked younger, fresher like she hadn't touched a drop of alcohol since she came to live in this house. The wrinkles of her face were gone and her skin had an unbelievable youthfulness. Even her eyes had lost some of the wrinkles and showed more life, 'Heaven's Mind? Scan.'
[Scanning]
[Name: Tsunade Senju]
[Limit: Phase One]
[Rank: Peak Veteran]
[Fate: The Last Senju]
'Nothing has changed. What then...'
"Brat, stop staring will you?" Tsunade grumbled at Cloud, "Who is she?"
"Name's Alice," Cloud nodded at the woman behind him, "I need you to train her."
"I don't have the time," Tsunade waved her hand, "Right, what is my current DP?"
"We'll talk about that later," Cloud brooded. She was hard to deal with for sure. Over the past months, she had separated the DP she produced from a village. Half of it as the Funds to create this Lab. Because of her, some other people who needed it started to do the same. It was necessary too, since Avalanche would have to make a round trip soon.
"Her Fate is to have a Thousand Clones."
Tsunade paused her work to listen, "What?"
"A Thousand Clones. That's her other Fate. I want to see if it could be used to make her stronger," Cloud explained.
"You want me to clone her?" Tsunade looked towards the woman, who seemed as attentive as Tsunade.
"She has a natural Talent, a mutation caused by T-Virus from her world," Cloud elaborated, "Alice, show her."
Alice raised her hand, making microscope rise in the air. Tsunade's eyes sparkled at the sight of it, "Is this?"
"Telekinesis. This and her Fate with the Thousand Clones. I hope you can teach her that Cloning Jutsu. Once that is done, I am going to plant a Demonic Embryo inside of her. With her given Fate, I want to see how everything would play out."
Tsunade looked towards Alice, then back at Cloud, giving a strange look.
"What?" Cloud scratched his head. He dreaded to hear what she had to say.
"You are getting used to this Fate thing," Tsunade shook her head head, "What if she can make clones?"
"We have never seen anyone with a thousand clones. If she can, then her training would produce thousand times the Aura. Her growth would be unrivalled. I also want to strengthen her Telekinesis. A Single Alice's Telekinesis vs 10 of hers or 100s, all focusing their mental ability at one single point will create different results. All of it depends on if her Fate acts like I am assuming it does."
"You shouldn't be familiar with Shadow Clone Jutsu. All you heard of it is in passing," Tsunade commented.
"Right?" Cloud nodded.
"Is this because of the Combat Experience you are gaining through memories inside Jenova Cells?" she asked a rhetorical question, "First, you became a Progenitor gaining a power rivaling Kage's. Then you are sent here to work like a Lord, which doesn't suit you and forces you to seek refuge in Jenova's memories in hopes to find best solution to lead people, granting you better synchronisation, adding to your day-to-day life experience and combat experience."
"What's your point?"
"Can't you see the parallel?" Tsunade scoffed, "The King. What he's doing for you is what you are doing for her."
Cloud wasn't shocked by the words of anything, "What about it?"
"You don't even care," Tsunade sighed, looking towards the microscope, "You are as strong as a Kage. That's the highest fighting force in our world. How strong do you think he is to be able to easily train someone of the highest calibre?"
"I don't think it's a matter of strength. It's a matter of ability and experience," Cloud shrugged, "though he's strong. We haven't even reached Phase 2. That's how strong weakest Nobles in that world are. Then there is also Phase 3 and 4, which we know nothing about. If you keep thinking about how strong they are, you will get nowhere. They are too strong. That's the truth."
"Yeah..." she muttered.
Cloud wanted to leave as soon as possible. Though the part of him that had gained a little emotional intelligence though the memories of other people told him to stay, 'what should I say in this situation.'
"Go. I'll train her and see her powers develop," Tsunade freed him, waving him off.
"Hm," Cloud nodded, leaving the room.
Alice tilted her head, shoved from one awkward situation to the next, "Uh..."
"Your Chakra. It's nowhere near enough to create a Thousand Shadow Clones," Tsunade observed Alice, "I am curious too. How does this Fate thing work... Come on. I'll write it down for you."
"Shadow Clone Jutsu."
