Chapter 30
Mark continued spending his skill points to empty it before starting the Fifth Floor. He went back to his bedroom then pulled up his Skill Tree tab again. He added two skill points to Void Push so he could get Void Wave and then added two points to it as well so since it was the requirement for Glacial Void, which he deemed a good spell for control since it would freeze enemies. Level three Void Push increased the MP cost to thirty with one hundred damage. It still had a short rage of twenty feet but still had a twenty by twenty area of effect.
Level two Void Wave was like Void Push but again bulked up. It had a twenty five MP cost with a forty by forty area. When cast, it would summon a wave of void force much like a wave of water twenty feet from caster and it would roll to the enemies pushing them away. Then he added a point to Glacial Void which would allow to freeze or slow enemies in a forty by forty area and could be cast up to seventy feet. It had a casting cost of fifty MP and one hundred damage to HP.
Mark would also like to get Levitation since who would not like to fly. Although it was not actual flight it was close enough and it was still fundamentally different from riding the Space Floating Disc. He added two points to Space Wall and then he added one point to Levitation. Level two Space Wall had a casting cost of twenty five MP with a decent one hundred and fifty HP that would last for thirty minutes or until HP was depleted or if he cancel the skill. With the last skill point that he had, he added it to Inventory Grid Control which almost doubled the individual grid space and would allow him to separate the grids up to five by five grids.
With his skill points depleted, Mark felt satisfied and would have gone down to the Fifth Dungeon already but since it was already five in the afternoon, he decided not to, since it would have been dark soon and just opted to do something else. He decided to call Sam and asked if he would like to go out and eat so they could talk about the current progress of the media content download and Sam agreed.
They met in a pizzeria nearby and ate there. While they were waiting for their pizza Mark asked Sam about some details of the downloaded content. Sam said that everything was great so far and after a few days he would be going to Mark’s house with the laptops to provide a detail progress report. When their food arrived, they ate happily, then Sam commented on his weight. Mark just replied that he was just following a diet plan. Sam said that to take care not to overdo the drugs since his weight lost was really severe. Mark just laugh and showed Sam his newly gained arm muscle which was pathetic and they just both laugh. When they were done eating they left after Mark received his take out which was the best meal in the pizzeria. They parted ways outside and when nobody was looking, he put the food in his Inventory.
Mark walked outside for a while then went to a nearby café and ordered a cup of coffee. While sitting on the outside table looking at his smartphone, he was actually organizing his Inventory. He first sectioned off a six by one grid which was actually enough to house his dungeon items that he could auto equip. Then he sectioned off a five by five grid to house the meals that he would replicate. He took note to put a reminder to purchase a lot of large bento boxes to better organize his meals. After he was done organizing, he decided to ponder what had happened to him so far.
Mark thought of the fact that if he received the System before his parents, could he have saved them? Probably not, since according to the report, they were instantly killed. He stood up and walked outside again, then he passed a nearby hospital. He suddenly went inside and went to the oncology department. When he was there, the first room that he saw from outside was a bald child looking at the window. From the outside, Mark cast the Dryad’s Circle and the child screamed, everybody nearby was alarmed at the screen and the nurses rushed inside. They were taken aback at the trees that grew inside and one brave soul tried to touch one of them and his hands passed through. While everybody was alarmed, including him for acting purposes, he immediately went to the nearby rooms and without knowing what type of illnesses the people inside had, he cast the Dryad’s Circle skill.
He was able to do around five rooms when he stopped. The commotion was so severe that nobody actually noticed him doing anything out of the norm. Mark then went outside and called an Uber and went home. When he arrived home, it hit him that he may have made a huge mistake. There was a good chance that somebody would be able to trace him but at that, he just decided to suddenly stopped thinking about it. What’s done was done. Maybe it was the melancholy that he felt when he thought of his parents. He really loved them. His mother was a strict typical Filipina mom but everything that she did was oozing warmth and care. She was the type that would scold you for some light thing and then would not hesitate to hurl herself in-front of a moving truck to save her child. His father on the other hand was a very mild mannered man which was so different from typical Mexican man that it was so weird. His father did say that even though he was half Mexican, he actually did not have anything to do with the Mexican Culture since his father, who was the Mexican , left him and his mom, Mark’s grandmother, alone when he was a child.
Mark’s father was so mild mannered that you would actually thought that he might have been possibly gay and that was where he got that mild mannered mannerism. He thought that his parents were perfect for each other with his mother’s fierce but soft on the inside behavior and his father’s mild mannered but very unyielding behavior. They were so strong and very loving that when they died, he was devastated. Mark had all those plans of making himself rich and successful to make sure that his parents would live a leisurely life someday but it was all destroyed by a drunk driver who actually died as well so he did not have even anyone but God, left to blame.
