Chapter 3: The Third
Finally, Kyudai Garaki took the second to last child to the orphanage. In general, he sorted the orphanages by their friendliness and vice versa, by the worst conditions, to find out how the conditions would affect the formation of those qualities within them that are needed for the birth, accumulation of evil or good, and the formation of quirks. The last one remained, the Third, whom he saved for last.
Suddenly, the child opened his eyes and began to break the glass of the vat, his face seemed angry. His expression was the most evil among the others, possessing the sharp features of a natural villain. Kyudai hurried to open the vat. The Third fell out of the vat, he tried to move his weakened and atrophied limbs from being in a liquid and nutritious environment for a long time.
The scientist watched in awe at the incredible will to live, not inherent in the other objects. Turning on the water pressure, he washed the Third from the liquid. He covered himself with his hands, not quite understanding what was happening, but his distrustful look did not change. Feeling the warm water on himself, the Third calmed down a little.
Seeing the Third's distrust, Kyudai chuckled, as if to say, he was doing the right thing. Alas, he would not be able to put a mark on him yet, first he needed to earn his trust. The Third began to shiver from the cold and Kyudai took the first step towards trust. He carefully threw a sheet over him. The Third looked at the vats with an unreadable gaze, while Kyudai decided where to place the child.
For now, Kyudai could place the Third in his hospital in Jaku, the pretext for this would be the atrophy of his limbs. All the objects adopted Sensei's intellect, but it seems that the Third has the highest and best manifests it. While Kyudai was destroying evidence in the wooden house, the Third was constantly watching the scientist, adopting his habits, movements, trying to understand what this thing was for, and what that other thing was for.
The Third considered the vat as something he was born from, considered his home, and the scientist had disturbed his sleep, but gradually the realization came that the scientist could be his parent. The first thing chicks and kittens see becomes their parent for the rest of their lives. All these strange devices prompted him to this idea. Seeing other vats, he instinctively understood that there were others, but he could not somehow organize his thoughts, ideas and guesses, simply not knowing the language and words to appeal to. He could not describe anything.
Kyudai began to pour fuel all over the house, inside and out. The Third watched his parent carefully all the time. Seeing a shiny thing, which was a lighter, he approached to examine it. Showing interest, Kyudai did not rush, but began to speak words in Japanese.
-Lighter. -clicked, a flame appeared from there. -Fire. -The Third looked at it with interest, and tried to touch the strange glowing matter, but got burned. -"It is impossible to study without getting burned. Risk accompanies everything, this is a necessary risk for his own research. We are all students from birth."
-O...O-fire...- the Third repeated the first time.
-Correct.
-Co-et...
Kyudai led the Third to the truck, by the way, he did not try to escape. Initially, Kyudai thought that the Third was like a beast and originated through instincts, because his personality and morality had not yet formed. The last thing the Third saw before leaving was the growing flames, rapidly engulfing the house in the abyss of chaos.
-Fire. House full of fire. - Kyudai always thought that teaching someone would be a problem for him, that the student would be a burden rather than something worthwhile, but it seemed he was lucky with his student. If he kept up this pace, in a couple of months he would be able to speak better than most children his age.
On the way, Kyudai continued to teach words, pointing his finger, while the Third looked at the objects outside the truck window. They drove back to Jaku almost all night, that's how far Kyudai had to go. Now it was time to return to his duties as a doctor, so that no one would suspect him. He had to wake the Third, who had fallen asleep in his chair, in the morning.
Kyudai was unsure what kind of attitude was needed for the heir of All for One. He tried not to be too strict with him, not to lose trust, because the heir saw him as a parent. But, on the other hand, the heir needs trials so that he can quickly form principles, so that he can educate himself, because no one knows him better than he does, and no Kyudai will help with this, otherwise it will be a forced imposition - subordination.
The old man only wanted to help with the foundation, and then everything depends on the Third himself. He only needs to ask for something and Kyudai will do it. Until the Third realizes his own importance...

The Third was in rehabilitation, where they helped him develop the ability to walk. Kyudai assigned him to his hospital so that they could help him rehabilitate, and at the same time teach him the language in a couple of months. Kyudai had to use some connections, create a passport for the Third and sign documents for his adoption. Daruma Ujiko is his villainous pseudonym, while the official civilian name of the head doctor of the Jaku hospital is Kyudai Garaki.
Now the Third's new name is officially Taiko Garaki.
The hospital staff did not suspect anything, because the head doctor had long ago proven himself to be very competent, so no one doubted him. Working in the office, the head doctor sighed. He hated paperwork, and although this was a necessary process, he wanted to conduct research on the effect of quirks on the body in his lab again.
After leaving for a couple of minutes, he went to check on the Third. He deliberately placed him among other children undergoing rehabilitation, observing the reaction. Standing to the side, Kyudai saw how the other children were playing in a familiar way, while the Third had been watching their actions for a couple of minutes. At first, his gaze showed interest, as if to ask why they were doing this, and then a shade of arrogant disgust, realizing that there was no highly intellectual subtext or any significant meaning in their actions.
It was amazing how a child could discern the depth of actions. This definitely showed his closeness to All For One, whose intelligence was extremely high, although Sensei himself was not good at medicine like Kyudai, but his cunning allowed him to become what he is.
The Third also looked at the loudest and most annoying child. Then, to Kyudai's surprise, the boy became simpler and made a silly face. He gradually got closer and embedded himself, using a toy to then do some small mischief and make the loudest one cry. Then the adults took him away.
His actions showed the shade and character inherent to Sensei. It was a pity that he could not directly observe other objects, so he kept in touch with the shelters, finding out information about the objects through bribes.
The old man smiled, this was definitely an indicator that he had not made a mistake in his choice. The other objects did not show such intelligence in the early stages, the Third is developing very quickly. He began to think of the Third as the most suitable successor to All For One. His creation was from Sensei's blood, how divine his nature was, he couldn't wait for the Third to awaken his quirk.
