Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1668: Berserk Dungeons 1

The next morning, the fortress hummed with a peaceful energy as Alex and the others gathered in the grand dining hall for breakfast. The sun poured through the expansive windows, painting the room in golden hues that made the polished wooden table and silverware gleam. The scent of freshly brewed coffee, sizzling bacon, and warm pastries filled the air, enticing everyone to dig in.

Alex was the first to arrive, looking refreshed and energized after his early morning workout. He wore a casual button-up shirt and dark trousers, his demeanor relaxed as he took a seat at the head of the table. Gracier was the next to join, her hair still slightly messy from sleep and her cheeks flushed with youthful energy.

"Good morning, Big Brother!" she chirped, sliding into a chair beside him and immediately reaching for a stack of pancakes.

"Morning, Gracier," Alex replied with a fond smile, ruffling her hair.

One by one, the others began to arrive. Saeko entered gracefully, her presence calm and composed as she poured herself a cup of green tea. Sera followed shortly after, her dark eyes scanning the spread with approval as she claimed a plate of scrambled eggs and toast.

Artemia and Incursio walked in together, both looking effortlessly elegant despite the casual atmosphere. Artemia carried a book under one arm, and Incursio teased her about bringing it to breakfast. Luna entered next, her radiant smile brightening the room as she greeted everyone warmly.

Finally, Leon and Ariel joined the group, their dynamic energy adding to the lively atmosphere. Leon clapped Alex on the back as he passed, grabbing a chair across from him. Ariel sat beside him, her gentle demeanor balancing out Leon's boisterousness.

The breakfast spread was impressive, with dishes catering to everyone's tastes. There were platters of fruit, bowls of yogurt, freshly baked bread, and a variety of spreads and toppings. A central dish of eggs prepared in multiple styles sat beside crispy bacon, sausage, and golden hash browns. For those with a sweet tooth, there were stacks of pancakes and waffles with syrup, berries, and whipped cream.

As everyone settled in, the table buzzed with conversation.

"I think I ate my weight in marshmallows last night," Gracier confessed, earning a round of laughter.

"You deserved it after winning the pillow fight," Sera said with a smirk. Read new chapters at My Virtual Library Empire

"Winning? More like sneaking around and ambushing everyone," Incursio chimed in, shaking her head.

Leon leaned back in his chair, watching the banter with an amused expression. "So, what's on today's agenda?" he asked, directing the question to Alex.

Alex set down his coffee cup, glancing around the table. "Nothing too intense today. I thought we could split up—some of us can check on the training grounds, and others can explore the nearby forest. We'll regroup for lunch."

"That sounds perfect," Saeko said, her serene voice cutting through the chatter.

The conversation continued as everyone enjoyed the meal, exchanging stories, jokes, and plans. Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment as he looked around the table. These were his people, his family, and moments like this reminded him of why he fought so hard to protect them.

By the time breakfast was over, the sun was high in the sky, and everyone felt ready to take on the day. Together, they cleared the table, laughters filling the air as they prepared to embark on their next task.

The group stood in the courtyard of the fortress, their expressions focused and resolute as they prepared for the mission. The morning air was crisp, carrying a sense of urgency as Maria stepped forward, summoning Hilde into her majestic dragon form. In a swirl of icy mist, Hilde transformed, her white scales glistening like freshly fallen snow under the sunlight. Her massive wings unfurled, sending a gust of wind rippling through the surrounding trees.

Leon and Ariel exchanged a glance before climbing onto Hilde's back with practiced ease. Ariel, ever graceful, held onto Leon as the beastman prince steadied himself.

On the other side, Alex closed his eyes and focused, his body glowing faintly as he began his transformation. Shadows swirled around him, growing denser until his form expanded into a massive black dragon. His scales shimmered like polished obsidian, reflecting the sunlight, while his eyes burned with a predatory intensity. He stretched his colossal wings, the sheer power of the movement causing a small tremor to ripple through the ground.

Maria, Luna, and the rest of the group mounted Alex without hesitation. Maria sat at the front, her hands resting on the base of Alex's neck, a mix of confidence and trust in her expression. Luna positioned herself beside Maria, her golden hair flowing in the wind as she secured herself. Gracier, Artemia, Saeko, Sera, and Incursio found their places behind them, each prepared for what lay ahead.

As the two dragons prepared to take flight, Maria turned to Hilde and gave her a nod.

"Let's move out. We don't have time to waste."

With a synchronized leap, the two dragons launched into the sky, their wings slicing through the air with powerful strokes. The fortress quickly disappeared below them as they climbed higher, their shadows stretching across the landscape.

The journey across the continents was breathtaking. Beneath them, vast expanses of lush forests, rolling hills, and shimmering rivers passed in a blur. Villages and cities appeared as tiny clusters from their vantage point, their inhabitants gazing skyward in awe as the two dragons soared overhead.

The group maintained a steady pace, the urgency of their mission evident in their focused silence. Occasionally, the wind carried fragments of conversation between Leon and Ariel from Hilde's back, or a light-hearted remark from Gracier to Maria. But overall, the mood was one of determination.

As they neared their destination, the terrain below grew harsher. The lush greenery gave way to jagged cliffs and barren wastelands, an ominous reminder of the dungeon's influence. The air became colder, tinged with an unnatural energy that sent a shiver down even the bravest spines.

Alex descended slightly, his sharp dragon eyes scanning the horizon. He spotted the dungeon's entrance—a massive, ominous structure carved into the side of a mountain, its dark opening pulsing with an eerie red glow. Surrounding it was chaos: hordes of monsters spilled out, attacking anything in sight. Fires raged in patches across the terrain, and the sound of distant screams reached their ears.

"This is worse than we thought," Maria muttered, her eyes narrowing as she surveyed the scene.

Luna nodded, her voice calm but firm. "We'll need to clear the area before we even think about entering the dungeon."

Alex let out a low growl, his massive frame vibrating with the sound. "We handle the outside first. Everyone, prepare for battle."

Hilde released a mighty roar, signaling her agreement, as she and Alex began their descent. The two dragons landed in perfect unison, their powerful forms creating shockwaves that scattered the smaller monsters near the dungeon's entrance.

The group dismounted swiftly, each member drawing their weapons and preparing for the fight ahead.

"Let's show them what happens when they disrupt the balance," Leon said, cracking his knuckles with a grin as he stepped forward.

The battle was about to begin. The dungeon's corruption would be purged, and the chaos brought to an end, but not without a fierce struggle. They were ready.
