DD2: Glory of the Unrivaled Angel

"Senior, what do you mean by that?" Ling Bai slightly tilted his head, a smile playing on his lips.

Electrolux possessed a pair of lifeless silver-gray eyes. His long gray-white hair draped down his back, with strands on his forehead faintly glowing with a golden light. His pale, middle-aged face and tall body were wrapped in a black robe.

He calmly said with his hands clasped behind his back, "What's in your Spiritual Sea, aren't you clear about it yourself?"

"Hiss—"

As the two conversed, the Blazing Bone Dragon Vulture circling in the sky noticed Ling Bai's tiny figure. Its face, composed of white bones and exposed teeth, twisted into a sinister grin. With a flap of its bone wings, its massive body descended like a white meteor!

The distance between the Blazing Bone Dragon Vulture and Ling Bai rapidly closed. The latter could feel the tearing pain of the fierce wind slicing his face even in his spiritual form!

"Shriek!!!"

A deep, enraged screech suddenly echoed as the Blazing Bone Dragon Vulture descended. In its eyes, eight blood-red lanterns ignited within the unfathomable fissure beside Ling Bai.

Suddenly, something within the fissure burst with an ear-splitting roar accompanied by shards of black stone. The Blazing Bone Dragon Vulture didn't even have time to form a thought of resistance before it was torn and dragged by an unknown monstrous creature into the infinitely vast dark sky!

After a few seconds, the Blazing Bone Dragon Vulture finally realized—it was in the jaws of this creature. Its proud bone wings were pinned under the other's spear-like legs, and its mountainous strength made breaking free utterly impossible!

At this moment, the Blazing Bone Dragon Vulture saw the face of the monstrous creature from the fissure!

And those eight blood-red eyes that illuminated the sky!

Extremely imposing!

Utterly ferocious!

It was the Death Abyss Spider Emperor!

Ling Bai's second Martial Spirit!

The Blazing Bone Dragon Vulture had stolen the Light Holy Dragon's dragon bloodline and possessed memories of various powerful spirit beasts. Yet, in all of its bloodline memories, there had never been a creature as terrifying as the one before it. The deathly intent contained within those blood-colored eyes made it feel fear from the depths of its soul. Even the pure-blooded dragons it had glimpsed from afar in the Star Dou Forest were not as fearsome as this spider!

Creak, creak...

It could hear the sound of its own body being slowly chewed and swallowed by the Death Abyss Spider Emperor. Its remaining consciousness was stripped away bit by bit. In its final moments, a deep sense of regret surged through its heart. Perhaps it shouldn't have chased after the Man Faced Demon Spider, leading to its own death in the jaws of another spider!

The 10,000-year Blazing Bone Dragon Vulture was now completely and utterly dead!

After devouring the resentment of the Blazing Bone Dragon Vulture, the Death Abyss Spider Emperor hung upside down on a spider web in the distant sky. Its eight abyss-like blood-red eyes locked onto Ling Bai on the ground.

"Feed... me more!"

The Death Abyss Spider Emperor's colossal purple-black body resembled a world-shaking demon god. Opening its scythe-like fangs, it spoke in chilling human words.

"Next time, for sure."

"You... better..."

The Death Abyss Spider Emperor replied coldly. Its eight spider legs moved in unison as its figure gradually disappeared from view.

Only Ling Bai and Electrolux remained in the spiritual sea, staring at each other in silence. This was a place where an unexpected and noisy 'guest' would never be welcome!

After a moment of silence, Electrolux broke the stillness first.

"So... this is why you seek the help of this old man?"

"Senior, your insight is truly keen."

Ling Bai sighed. He looked at Electrolux, and at some point, his brilliant golden eyes had silently turned blood-red. Strange protrusions emerged on his back, ready to burst forth at any moment. It seemed that in the next second, he would transform into another Death Abyss Spider Emperor.

"This world is called the Douluo Continent. Everyone awakens their Martial Spirit at the age of six, and I was no exception. Moreover, I awakened the extremely rare Twin Martial Spirits: Seraphim and the Death Abyss Spider Emperor."

Electrolux nodded slightly. At this moment, he seemed like an experienced doctor listening to a patient's symptoms to diagnose their illness and prescribe treatment.

After an examination by the Protector of the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, it was determined that the Death Abyss Spider Emperor was a mutated Martial Spirit formed by the combination of two emperor spirit beasts: the Death Spider Emperor and the Soul Devouring Spider Emperor.

Seraphim, Death Spider Emperor, Soul Devouring Spider Emperor...

Moreover, Ling Bai happened to be born in Jialing Pass, where the Battle of the Gods had occurred. He reasonably deduced that the Death Abyss Spider Emperor contained the Divine Power of the Rakshasa God!

"Another God?"

Electrolux's brow furrowed slightly.

"Senior."

There seemed to be a dark storm brewing in Ling Bai's eyes. "The Death Abyss Spider Emperor is a death-attribute Martial Spirit. Death is a solemn and sacred event; it grants life its meaning and is the inevitable and ultimate endpoint of existence.

I do not wish to see it tainted by the power of an evil god and degenerate into an Evil Martial Spirit. You are a sage on the path of death, and I hope you can aid me in this endeavor."

"Death is a solemn and sacred event..."

Electrolux slowly repeated Ling Bai's words. He instinctively recalled the divine title he had once claimed for himself: the Necromancer Sacred Law God.

Only when life ends in death does it become truly precious. Ling Bai's understanding of death resonated deeply with his own beliefs. Electrolux's gaze toward Ling Bai softened with appreciation and approval as he spoke:

"I have traversed time and space to arrive on the Douluo Continent, and I happened to meet you and reside in your Spiritual Sea. This must be destiny. This seat is Electrolux. In my world, humans called me Necromancer Sacred Law God, the Undead Calamity. From now on, you may call me Elder Yi."

"Yes, Elder Yi."

Ling Bai bowed deeply to Electrolux. Those words meant that Elder Yi had decided to help him.

Electrolux continued, "I am but a remnant soul with very little strength left. I will need some time to recover."

"No matter. I've waited all these years; I can wait a bit longer. Please rest here, and I will seek out some Heaven and Earth Treasures in the outside world to help you restore your strength."

"Very well, you may go now."

Ling Bai nodded, and the holy light-infused Angel Sword appeared in his right hand. With a gentle slash through the empty space, he turned and walked into the fissure opened by the Angel Sword, leaving his Spiritual Sea.

As he watched Ling Bai depart, the sound of rustling suddenly filled the air. Electrolux abruptly realized:

"Wait, something's not right. That kid Ling Bai is gone—doesn't that mean I have to face that Death Abyss Spider Emperor with Divine Power alone?!"

Oh no, I've been completely duped!
