DC: My Name Is Not Billy Batson

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: holy water plan

Dane didn't linger in the Void for long. After confirming that the world where the City Spirit resided was in the same dimension as the Rock of Eternity, he withdrew back to the physical realm.

"Now, how do I determine the exact location of the city I want in extra dimension?" he asked, intrigued.

"Actually, you can't be sure." Angelis shrugged, his tone neither dismissive nor uncaring, but more matter-of-fact. "It's not that I don't want to help, but in the extra dimension, the City Spirit is free to move. It can go anywhere."

"Right, so I don't need to pinpoint its coordinates?"

"No," Angelis confirmed. "You don't need to worry about that. The Spirit of the City is always tied to its real-world counterpart. So if you find the actual city, the spirit is usually close by."

Dane processed this. "The city is its body, and the Spirit doesn't stray far from it."

"Exactly," Angelis agreed. "The spirit of the city might be able to travel across dimensions, but it always depends on its city to thrive."

Dane touched his chin thoughtfully. The analogy wasn't lost on him. He had always considered his own abilities—how his spirit existed not just in the physical world but could also interact with and influence it. This was similar to what Angelis described. His power wasn't merely strength; it was an entirely different form of existence that allowed him to affect the world in ways.

Unlike other city spirits, which could barely influence the real world, his presence could have substantial effects in the physical realm. He could manifest in the world and create ripples that affected the course of events.

Most city spirits could only observe their cities from within, and they could only influence the residents through subtle means. For example, in Kandak, the spirit might not have had the power to oppose the global powers, but it could still stir rebellious thoughts in the hearts of its people.

In Black Adam, when the Kandak people rose against the demons, it wasn't just the physical might of the army but also the spiritual push of the city's spirit manifesting through its people.

Dane wondered if the Wizarding Council's selection of a champion like Shazam had also been influenced by Kandak's spirit, especially given the historical ties between Shazam and Kandak.

As these thoughts swirled in his mind, a path forward to finding the Spirit of Kandak became clearer. He turned his gaze back to Angelis.

"Thank you for your explanation, this has been very helpful," he said sincerely.

"Don't mention it," Angelis replied with a confident grin. "I'm here to eliminate demons, and that's where my help comes in."

Dane smiled at the boldness of the spirit. "You're right. But demons can always escape back to Hell. This isn't going to be a perfect victory unless we seal that exit."

Angelis raised an eyebrow. "What do you have in mind?"

"There should be a lot of churches in Los Angeles, right?" Dane asked, already forming a plan.

Angelis nodded.

"How much holy water can you acquire?" Dane inquired, his tone serious but purposeful.

Angelis flashed an arrogant grin. "How much do you want?"

"Could you completely surround Engström's estate with it?"

"No problem," Angelis replied without hesitation.

Dane's eyes glinted with satisfaction. "Good. I've already had constantin trick the rest of demons into besieging Beroul. Once they're all inside the manor, you can set up the holy water, and we'll handle the rest."

Angelis, however, had one more caution. "Beroul isn't the demon's real name, by the way. Its true identity is Nilgai, and it specializes in nightmare magic."

Dane raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile curling on his lips. "Ah, yes, the real culprit behind the Newcastle incident."

Angelis blinked in surprise. "You know about that?"

Dane's grin widened. "Of course. As I said, I know exactly what I need to know."

Dane chuckle as he answered the phone. "Constantine," he said, already anticipating the conversation.

"Where are you?" came the gruff voice from the other side. "I've been dealing with these demons, and I need your help."

"Don't worry, I've got this covered," Dane replied with a confident tone. "You're not going to be alone in this fight."

Diana, standing next to Dane, looked at him sharply. "You sure about that? You sound calm, but something feels different. What's the plan?"

Dane glanced over at her. "Plan's simple. We take down the demons tonight, once and for all. We've got the Holy Water prepared, and I've arranged for constantin to get those demons into position."

Constantine's voice came through again, more urgent. "Listen, Dane, we're not dealing with regular demons here. You're sure you're ready for this?"

Dane smirked. "I've never been more ready. You and Bruce will hold the fort; the rest will be taken care of. Just make sure we don't let any of them slip away."

The silence on the other end indicated Constantine's skepticism, but Dane could hear the resolve in his voice when he spoke next. "Alright, we'll meet at the manor. But you better have a plan for this whole holy water thing."

Diana nodded in agreement, her demeanor focused. "And we'll be there to back you up."

"Good," Dane replied, hanging up. "Everyone's in position."

He turned to Diana, who was ready for battle, her eyes intense. "Let's finish this."

"How's it feel to be on the other side of the battle for once?" Diana asked, her tone more teasing now as she adjusted her armor.

Dane couldn't help but smirk. "I'd say it's a bit of a change of pace, but I've always preferred a little chaos."

And with that, the final battle began to take shape.
