Chapter 158: Chapter 158 - Yenite Forest.
[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV
Orario.
...
...
The sacred tree in the Yenite Forest was a grand library that housed many ancient tomes and important scriptures, chronicling much of the world's history.
The elves of the Yenite Forest were wise and long-lived, constantly seeking more knowledge. They traveled from all corners of the world to study in this magnificent place, their thirst for understanding seemingly insatiable.
"Lucius... you can't... ah..." Riveria's voice echoed inside the sacred tree under the light of the moon, signaling it was early morning.
"There's no one here, so I don't see a problem with it," Lucius replied calmly as he pushed Riveria.
"If they catch us... it won't end well for either of us..." Riveria tried to speak but could barely finish, letting out a moan.
"But no one will catch us. Besides, you're enjoying it," Lucius chuckled as he continued.
"..." Riveria couldn't argue, simply looking at him with a glimmer of pleasure in her eyes.
Lucius said nothing more, continuing as Riveria lay naked among the books they had been studying. They looked at each other, giving in to their mutual desire, something that had become frequent during the month since they had left Orario.
For a couple in love, making love was normal. However, with Lucius and Riveria, it was different. They would indulge in each other anywhere, as long as they were alone. Now, they found themselves in the most important library for the Elves.
It lasted a while longer until they were both satisfied. Lucius cleaned them both of sweat and other odors with a simple spell.
Riveria adjusted her dress, finally looking at Lucius with suspicion. "I think we went overboard... it's almost dawn already," she commented.
"I didn't hear you saying that while we were..." Lucius teased, mocking Riveria's concern about the place.
She merely sighed, not bothering to respond to Lucius' remark. After all, she had wanted it as much as he did. She longed for the one she loved, finding the sensation addictive ever since she gave him her virginity and discovered this new depth of emotion.
"But we can't stay here much longer," she finally said, as Lucius also grew serious at her words.
"You're right," Lucius agreed, glancing at the books and watching as several magical quills copied them at his command.
"All of you, come here and bring all the books you've copied," Lucius said, seemingly to no one. Suddenly, numerous house elves appeared.
The moment he entered the vast library, Lucius knew he needed to act quickly. He summoned goblins, evolving them into house elves, and instructed them to ensure his and Riveria's privacy while spreading out across the library to copy as many books as possible.
Riveria disapproved of this approach. To her, it was akin to Lucius stealing from her people indirectly. Yet, she didn't stop him. Lucius had explained that he needed all the knowledge he could gather for his projects. With little choice, she turned a blind eye.
"We've copied over 1,000 books, Master Lucius," a female house elf reported, to which Lucius nodded.
"Unfortunately, there are over a million books... We can't spend too much time here, but we can still manage another week. It would be good to leave with at least 10,000 books," Lucius remarked. Riveria sighed but said nothing more.
"Can you fit all this in your inventory, Lucius?" Riveria asked, glancing at the numerous books, aware that Lucius had been complaining lately about running out of space in his magical inventory. He had even resorted to carrying some items by hand.
"I can't, and that's why I've been complaining. I didn't want to have to do this..." Lucius admitted vaguely.
Unbeknownst to Riveria, he had amassed a substantial amount of points in his system after his recent battles, particularly from defeating the Juggernaut. He had hoped to avoid spending them on this particular spell, but the situation left him no choice.
[Support and Space Spell/Dimensional Space/Rank 4: 25,000,000]
(Creates a pocket dimension for you to place whatever you want, space of 10m).
This space was quite large, being a cubic area of 10 meters, capable of storing a vast amount of items, including more than 800,000 books.
Riveria looked at Lucius with some suspicion, not fully understanding how his system worked, but she knew he had the potential to earn the title of the person with the most spells concentrated in a single individual.
Even with all her talent, she could only manage around ten spells, while Lucius had over forty—an unimaginable feat, even among the elves. It wasn't surprising that Riveria had fallen in love with him over the months, admiring his growth and magical prowess.
Lucius purchased the spell with a heavy heart, unable to do otherwise. He activated it immediately, using a card to bypass the lengthy incantations. All the books copied by the house elves and his magical quills disappeared from the room, transferred into his new storage space, which now totaled 11 cubic meters, thanks to the 1 meter he already possessed.
"And now?" Riveria asked as she watched Lucius begin dismissing the house elves with a cancellation spell. They were no longer useful now that the library was about to be filled with scholars once again.
"Let's get out of here... We'll return tonight. For now, we can enjoy the forest a little. Let's go," Lucius said. Riveria nodded, and they vanished from the spot with one of Lucius' spells. After all, no one could know they were there—not even Riveria with her true identity, and certainly not Lucius, a human in elven territory.
It wasn't long before the library doors opened, and two elves entered the room. Everything seemed perfectly normal to them, except...
"Hm? What's that smell?" one of them asked, unable to ignore the strange scent lingering in the air.
Lucius had forgotten to instruct one of the house elves to clean the area he and Riveria had used. Meanwhile, they were deep in the forest, where Lucius summoned a hidden bed for the two of them to sleep.
"Set some of your summoned watchers... We could be spotted. There are always elves keeping an eye on the forest, and the library is something they guard zealously," Riveria warned as they settled on a tree branch, a bit removed from the sacred tree.
Lucius nodded, summoning at least four house elves to watch over the forest. They were level 2 and could handle most elves in the area. Their purpose, however, was to keep watch and alert him, not to fight.
Lucius and Riveria slept through the morning, waking around midday to have lunch. Lucius chose a spot near a waterfall where they prepared some meat.
After eating, they went for a bath, with Lucius keeping an eye on the surroundings and clearing the area with his creation spells.
"With you, nothing is ever lacking..." Riveria couldn't help but remark. Lucius could survive anywhere without struggling, thanks to his creation, storage, and even elemental resistance magic.
"You could say that," he laughed, leaning on the riverbank with his elbows as he watched the waterfall in front of them. Riveria, naked and bathing like him, kept her body submerged in the water to cool off. She showed no shame in revealing herself to him—unlike the first time Lucius had seen her naked.
"Maybe one day, we can venture into the deeper levels of the dungeon," he commented with a smile.
Riveria took it as a joke and shifted the topic. "So... what's our next destination?" she asked.
"We'll stay here for a week, focus on copying more books, and then head east," he said, looking at her calmly.
"Abandoned World or Altena...?" Riveria asked, referencing the two closest destinations.
"Abandoned World. We already have four level 6 monster crystals. But we could also explore more of the world. You know how it is," Lucius replied.
"I can understand investigating the Abandoned World, especially after what we heard from that guy in Beltane. But I don't think we'll get a warm reception in Altena..." she commented.
"They don't like you, do they?" Lucius recalled some past events, and she nodded in agreement.
"Why?" he asked, curious.
"They are petty... there's envy and resentment over my ability to master more than three spells," Riveria explained.
"Then they'll love me. I'll show up shouting that I have nearly fifty spells. Do you think I'll get a fan club or something?" Lucius couldn't help but joke, laughing at his own remark.
"Lucius... this is serious..." Riveria murmured, giving him a look.
"Alright, alright... how about we sneak in? That would be easy for us," Lucius suggested, and Riveria eventually nodded. It was obvious he was eager to see the human city most connected to magic in the world.
"Who is the goddess there? Athena?" Lucius asked, considering the most logical choice.
"Yes... she's the one who oversees the city," Riveria confirmed.
"I see... don't worry, I'm just interested in seeing how the city operates. We won't fight them—unless we have to," Lucius remarked.
Riveria simply nodded. At that moment, a house elf appeared with an urgent expression.
"Master! There's an elf heading this way," the elf reported quickly.
"Alright, thank you," Lucius said, dismissing the elf and the other summoned ones before grabbing Riveria and disappearing just as the elf arrived at the waterfall. The newcomer drank some water, unaware of anything unusual.
Riveria and Lucius floated above in the sky, dressing themselves. Lucius then transported them to another part of the forest, where they observed the elves going about their lives in the city surrounding the sacred tree.
As Riveria spoke about her people, Lucius listened intently, curious to understand how they lived. Not that he was particularly connected to them—the elves would never allow a human among them, much less accept Lucius as their king. Being with Riveria, the usual path would have been for him to assume the throne alongside her, but that was impossible. Riveria had abandoned the throne when she chose to be with him.
They stayed in the area for a week, with Lucius and Riveria sneaking into the library at night to copy as many books as they could. They refrained from making love in the library again, leaving such moments for later. Instead, they discussed intriguing theories they had read while waiting for the house elves to finish their tasks.
Lucius was deeply engrossed in advancing his understanding of magic. Having already acquired abilities through grasping magical concepts, he hoped to develop even further with this newfound knowledge. Riveria, being a natural teacher, had begun instructing Lucius back in Orario. She continued to do so, as he was her best student in all her years of teaching. Lucius' magical potential was limitless.
