The Three-Color Domineering, a formidable power in the world of pirates, was an unexpected souvenir from the frog cub's latest adventure. David couldn't believe it. He had heard of this power before, but to see it now, right in front of him, was both surprising and thrilling.
The concept of Domineering was something that couldn't be easily learned. It wasn't a skill that could be trained through effort alone; it was something innate, a rare gift that manifested depending on one's natural abilities and their potential to awaken it later on. The Three-Color Haki Training Manual the frog cub had brought back held a massive amount of knowledge. If David could master all three forms of Haki, his physical and mental capabilities would be fundamentally enhanced.
David took a deep breath and cleared his thoughts. He wasn't about to waste time. Immediately, he extracted the [Three-Color Domineering Training Manual].
In an instant, an overwhelming torrent of information flooded his mind. He understood the basics of the three types of Haki:
Armed Haki, which enhanced the body's defense and attack power.
Kenbunshoku Haki, the ability to heighten perception and predict enemy movements.
And the most intimidating one, Haoshoku Haki, the Conqueror's Haki, the power that emanated from a king's will and could cause others to cower simply through mental pressure.
The knowledge came to David all at once, and it was clear. The Three-Color Haki was a technique that could enhance his physical strength and perceptions, but like any skill, mastering it would take time, practice, and a bit of natural talent.
He understood that while the manual had imparted him with the basics, further mastery would require personal effort. Most importantly, the Conqueror's Haki—the rarest and most difficult to master—was dependent on his own innate talent. David didn't dwell too much on it. After all, the cyberpunk world he lived in didn't need him to focus on dominating others with raw willpower. Armed Haki and Kenbunshoku Haki, though, those were things he could use, and they would certainly prove useful.
David was eager to test it out.
With a determined expression, he focused on his right arm. Within moments, the transformation began. His arm darkened, the color shifting to a solid black that was visible to the naked eye. He clenched his fist.
Bang! Bang!
He struck the air with his left hand. The power was evident. His fist, now hardened by the Armed Haki, was as tough as armor. The strength was comparable to the subcutaneous armor implants the Beast Gang member had used last night.
After a few moments, his arm returned to normal. The hardening didn't last long, but David knew it was just the beginning. With more practice, he'd be able to control the duration and strength of the Armed Haki with ease. He was confident that with enough time, he could even coat his entire body in this power and resist bullets with nothing but his own physical strength.
Next, David turned his focus to the Kenbunshoku Haki. As soon as he activated it, his senses sharpened dramatically. His hearing and vision became acute. He could even sense through the walls of his small apartment. It was a strange sensation, but it also felt... powerful.
David could feel the presence of the residents in the apartment next door. One person was clearly moving around the room, but something felt off. He concentrated harder, trying to make sense of what he was perceiving.
He could hear muffled voices:
"Oh, yes! Mike, pinch harder, yes, pinch harder..."
"Damn it, Cleo, you b*d!"
David's eyes widened. What the hell? His mind raced. Is that a fight?
He quickly retracted his focus, feeling both disturbed and confused. He couldn't believe what he'd just overheard. Not only had he heard an argument, but it was also something much... more intimate than he'd expected.
David shuddered. He decided that perhaps using Kenbunshoku Haki to listen in on people's private moments was something he would avoid in the future.
Finally, David turned his attention to Haoshoku Haki, the rarest of the three. This form of Haki was known for its ability to intimidate others purely through the strength of one's will. However, he quickly realized that this type of Haki was more difficult to comprehend. The manual only offered basic insights into how it could be awakened, and David understood that activating it would require an immense amount of mental effort and a strong sense of self.
Still, after briefly reviewing the insights from the manual, David felt a sense of calm. Perhaps there was latent Haoshoku Haki within him, waiting to be unleashed. It wasn't something he could test so easily, but he had a feeling that, given time, he could awaken it when needed.
Once David had practiced the basics of the Three-Color Domineering, he felt a renewed sense of strength. He quickly moved on to his daily exercises to hone the abilities of his Magnetic Fruit. His body felt stronger, his senses sharper, and his confidence was high.
After completing his training, David decided to take a break. He needed to freshen up.
As he finished washing up and getting dressed, his phone rang.
Ding, ding, ding!
David picked up the phone, and the caller ID read Lucy.
He smiled and answered the call. "Hey, what's up?"
"David, what did you do this morning? I called you several times, and you didn't pick up!"
Lucy's voice came through, clearly frustrated but playful.
"Sorry, I was sleeping. Long night shift last night," David replied, his smile widening.
Lucy sighed but quickly got to the point. "I had a task lined up this morning, and I was wondering if you had any ideas. I need your help with something."
David raised an eyebrow. "How much is the task worth?"
"100,000 euros," Lucy answered, her voice tinged with urgency. "The task was simple at first, but now we're running into some issues."
"100,000 euros?!" David's interest piqued immediately. "Let's meet and talk about it. Where should we go?"
"Little Chinatown Chinese Restaurant. I'll send you the address," Lucy replied, a sense of relief in her voice.
"Alright, I'll see you there." David hung up the phone, his thoughts already racing. A 100,000 euro bounty—no matter the complication, it was worth discussing.
