Chapter 4: Attacked with the Water Sword
Yue Jiachun, upon hearing this, showed a childish smile but did nothing.
'This woman wants to use me to show off? Impossible! I'm tired.'
The next moment, he simply fell asleep, sleeping like a rock.
"..."
Yue Rixin was speechless and turned to her second sister, who did not look pleased at all. Her expression was that of someone about to strike.
"Haha..."
She laughed awkwardly, trying to ease the tension, but Yue Jianying didn't seem willing to understand.
"Second sister, I'm holding a baby. Don't do anything."
Yue Rixin tried to calm her down, but Jianying just frowned and turned her face away, ignoring her.
"Phew..."
Rixin sighed in relief and looked at the baby resentfully.
"Little one, you almost got me beaten up. Of all the disciples, the Second and Third Sisters are the most brutal!"
The baby, as if understanding, opened his eyes and laughed.
'Don't try to show off at my expense anymore. This little baby can betray you.'
Ever since he reincarnated, Yue Jiachun had been feeling more and more childish. This happened because part of his soul had been lost in the process, leaving only a third—like a miniature version of his childhood self.
'But I'm happy! A little bit of showing off doesn't hurt!'
Thinking this, he placed his hand on the lake and began levitating the water. Like a gooey substance, the blue liquid floated and took shape until it molded into a crystalline sword.
Without hesitation, he launched it at Yue Jianying.
Why did this baby like provoking others so much?
'You're a swordswoman? Then take my sword!'
That was what Yue Jiachun thought upon seeing her training in the sword field. He was sure that this woman was not weak and that his water sword wouldn't hurt her.
And, as expected, Yue Jianying raised a single finger and dissipated the sword instantly.
That hurt Yue Jiachun.
'I will train more!'
With that determination in mind, he stared at Yue Jianying. She remained still, returning his gaze, evaluating him.
Meanwhile, Yue Rixin started laughing.
"Hahaha! This little guy is so competitive! So, Second Sister, did you like the surprise? A two-month-old baby launching a sword!"
Yue Jianying heard those words but said nothing. She simply picked up the baby with her hands and lifted him into the air, her eyes full of curiosity about this little one.
'I will defeat her when I grow up!'
Yue Jiachun silently declared his challenge.
"Okay."
Yue Jianying seemed to understand the baby and responded with a single word. She wasn't someone who spoke much—if she said ten words in a year, it was already a lot. But looking at that baby, she felt strangely happy. And she smiled.
Thus, Yue Jiachun's life continued, being taken to train every day by Yue Rixin, who was loving helping her competitive little brother.
---
Eight months later
The little one was one day away from turning one year old. A month ago, he learned to walk.
Today, he was in the hallway, running toward the altar.
"Mommy!"
He shouted excitedly and jumped into the arms of the Moon Empress, who caught him effortlessly.
"Don't run like that; you might get hurt."
She picked him up and warned him, her voice carrying a strict yet maternal tone.
"Hehehe! I'm strong! How could I get hurt? This little master has great strength!"
Yue Jiachun declared confidently, making the Moon Empress thoughtful.
'Is this Yue Rixin's influence? Did that girl make him like this? Or is it his arrogance for being a son of the heavens?'
She reflected while gently stroking the little one's head.
"Don't be like that. In life, you need to be careful with everything, even the little things."
Another warning. Yue Jiachun pouted and turned his face away.
"If you don't want me to get hurt, why don't you teach me how to cultivate?"
He asked, his eyes shining with anticipation.
"You're still a child. It's not time yet. Besides, you need to unlock your veins, and that requires a lot of work."
Upon hearing this, Yue Jiachun felt unhappy, but he quickly remembered something and regained his determination.
During his time in this world, he had discovered the situation of his spiritual veins—after pressing his younger sister to tell him. But that didn't discourage him.
After all, he had a system.
A system that could help him train automatically.
His water control had improved because of it; it wasn't purely his own effort. At first, he felt a little uncomfortable with this idea, but he quickly got over it.
After all, who wouldn't want to evolve while sleeping?
Currently, he could already form three water swords at the same time. Compared to his second sister, this was nothing. But it was a good start.
Another thing Yue Jiachun noticed was that his personality had changed. And he soon found out why.
His soul was incomplete.
But that wasn't permanent. Within ten years, he would recover it completely. Until then, his personality would be somewhat... different.
Well, he preferred not to talk about it.
And about abandonment?
He no longer cared.
'How could I find my sisters? My mother?'
He now considered these people his new family.
'System, show me my current skills.'
[YES, LITTLE HOST]
[Water Control - 345/1000 = Proficiency increases by 1 each day.]
[Movement Technique - 36/1000]
[Learning Technique - 62/1000]
[Sword Technique - 10/1000]
[Fist Technique - 10/1000]
These were his new techniques, acquired when he learned to speak and walk. And after he could walk normally, he used a sword and punched randomly. Every time he learned something new, the system would add it to his skills, improving them daily.
He could also attract things, but aside from milk, the system didn't give him anything else.
"System, can you give me something other than milk? I don't need it anymore!"
[EVEN THE CELESTIAL MILK?]
"No! That one, I still want!"
[...]
To this day, he had drunk the celestial milk twelve times, and on every occasion, it was delicious. His favorite thing at the beginning of each month was drinking Celestial Milk.
'Speaking of which... tomorrow is the day, isn't it?'
Yue Jiachun felt excited, and this happiness caught the attention of the Moon Empress.
"Why are you so happy?"
"Tomorrow is my birthday and also the beginning of the month—the day I get Celestial Milk!"
The Moon Empress smiled upon hearing this.
"My little boy is turning one... it seems we'll have to prepare a big birthday party tomorrow."
But Yue Jiachun immediately rejected the idea.
"I don't want a big party, just a banquet among the seven of us."
The Empress reflected for a moment before nodding.
"Since that's your wish, I won't refuse. But there will still be a grand party—with six guests and one birthday boy."
"Agreed!"
The little one accepted without hesitation, a big smile on his face. Now, he eagerly awaited tomorrow.
