Howdy Folks,
It's been a good amount of time since my last author update on here. I tend to write one every two or three months.
How's the story so far? Right now, you guys are on trinity, which means my Patreon is about 30 chapters ahead or so. The cost for early access is 3$, which will one day change to five, and there's a couple higher tiers. I have a publishing deal with Podium for three books, and right now, you're about halfway through book three. I hope you're enjoying it as much as I did writing it.
I've updated my Patreon and Royal Road readers a lot, but have found that I haven't done so with my SH people nearly enough. This series, the Symphony saga, is a buildup to an even bigger series. You see, I hate worldbuilding. Most fantasy authors love it, but I'm not them. I spent years just building up cultures, environments, and magic systems. Only, when I tried to write it out, it all turned to shit. So, I had an idea. What if I wrote a series that INVOLVED worldbuilding, and just use that as a jumping off point for the actual series I wanted to write.
This series, which will be renamed later on, is merely a prelude to my ultimate series, Grey. Grey will focus on Alexander, that young British lad we've seen fighting off the shadow creatures. I don't want to do any spoilers here, but let's just say things get pretty fucked up. When Symphony ends, I have a novella, The Boy and the Stick, that will be released. Immediately following that, we have Grey book 1, then I Am A Bastard Sword, then Grey book 2, then I Am Magic. I have over twenty six books planned out. Not perfectly plotted, but a general idea of how it's all going to run.
My ultimate goal is to become a professional author, or in other words, writing only for a living. During my summers, which ends for me in a week, I produce 3-4 chapters per week on average (when not editing). And I don't write small chapters compared to most. In order to get there, I need the monies.
So what's the point of all this? When my book releases on Kindle Unlimited, or Audible, please consider reading/listening to it. There have been substantial edits, and it is much cleaner, faster, and more flowing than what you've read thus far. All of this is a rough draft for me. What I send in to Podium (my publisher) has now been edited 4x, with their fifth to follow. From the feedback I've received, the edits make the book SUBSTANTIALLY better. Same spirit, better writing.
So, I'm asking you to read it when you have the chance, and I'll certainly update you when that occurs. I hope you're all enjoying the story, and you should have about 3 more weeks of triple chapter releases before you catch up to RR. Thank you.
